    three pizzas on three tiers

Mama Said Pizza, I say heck yes! We came on a weekend early evening and was happy to hear they had room for our group of 6. This little shop is serving up some freshly made pies! They also have a food truck down the road selling subs. We ordered their beer on tap and for someone who hates beer, it was surprisingly palatable. It was a brew from Phillips Brewery and was salty with a hint of sour, like plum juice. We ordered 3 pizzas to share - Pine and Swine, The Mama, and Hugh Fungus. Haters gonna to hate, but I love pineapple on pizza. Instead of the traditional ham, their version was made with bacon which were a touch too crispy for me. The Mama was divine! It was our favourite of the night. It was a "wetter" pizza so the toppings slid off, but the flavour was bomb! The honey sesame crust was a sticky mess (in a good way) and made it more interesting (like eating breadsticks) for crust-haters. The balance of sweetness from the honey, savoury prosciutto, and pop of the bitter arugula was delicious. The one star knock off was for the Hugh Fungus pizza. It was the least favourite out of the three and tasted bland. The flavour was flat and was overshadowed by the others. The only other downside is that parking can be tricky if the streets are full. Service was also great. We were greeted and seated right away, and servers were quite attentive. A server walking by saw us struggling to split the last slice of pizza and offered to bring us a knife.

A cool spot to enjoy a beer and delicious pizza! We ordered pepperoni king and happy to report, it indeed was full of pepperoni. I honestly prefer a crispier base but it didn't take away from all the good tasting things on this pie. Will have to come back to try their other toppings cause, duh, why not?

Amazing place for pizza in Port Moody! They use to be a food truck near the breweries but recently opened up their own store front. This is our second time here and our first time at their store. We got the Hugh Fungus pizza to go and it was not a long wait at all to get our food (10-15 minutes) on a Friday night. The pizza was very fresh and was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended and one of my favourite places for pizza in town!

Two slices of pizza for $10. I find this pizza to be quite dry. The red sauce as base is nothing special. The pizza had plenty of toppings which was great. Ive tried 3 or 4 different flavours from Mama Said pizza prior to this review and nothing really stands out. It's not that this pizza is bad, but that its not much better than places like fresh slice.

Was pleasantly surprised to be able to book a rezzie on their website 15 minutes out on a Saturday afternoon. Ambiance was nice, and service was crazy quick. Their menu had a good selection of brunch items with really reasonable prices. I ordered the smoked salmon Benny and was thrilled to see the hashbrowns were actually tots! When I say they were the star of the show, I'm not kidding. They were so perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and so soft inside and absolutely seasoned to perfection. There were also so many on my plate I couldn't finish the all. The Benny was just okay. Eggs were cooked well, English muffin was under toasted, and overall it was on the cold side. Hubby ordered the classic breakfast. It also came with the same perfect tots, his over easy egg was a bit over cooked and he wasn't a fan of the bacon. The focaccia on the other hand was delish. Soft and super flavourful. We had a 25% off coupon from the Community Values book which made this extra reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!

This place was great…read more I joined some friends for cocktails and was pleasantly surprised at how good this bar was. The drinks were really good. My favorite was one was actually offered on tap. They also allow you to purchase their drinks to go (the ones on tap.) They have a fridge with all their on tap offerings. They also have pre packaged mixed boxes to go. This place is far from where I live, so going often isn't an option, but I will definitely drop by and purchase the drinks to go. The service was really good as well. They forgot about one of my drinks and took if off my bill. Now that is service you don't see often anymore. My waitress was also very nice. I should note that it is a really small place, but once the weather gets better they have a patio that would allow for more people. Currently, the tables hold 4-6 people and you can only stay for 2 hours. They are pretty firm about it unlike other restaurants. It's because they don't really have space for more than 4 tables/groups at a time. It's tiny! Another cool aspect is that they let you order food from other restaurants and have it delivered so you can enjoy it while you drink. They do not have meal offerings so are willing to accommodate. Very cool. Give this place a go! Great drinks. Good service.

A lot of their product is seasonal so right now there's a lot of Mexican themed creations. It sounds Like they'd like to do Japanese next. There's plenty of choices to choose from. I found their cocktails not to be too sweet which is just the way I like it. The waitress was so nice and let me sample a bunch of flavours on tap. The coconut pineapple rum tastes like a vacay. Gin and juice is their signature and a close second. I went with their tamarind peach which was vodka based. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the summer night breeze. They have some small bites available like warm bread and hummus, charcuterie etc. There's also pizza made to order from the specialty pizza place a few doors down. The only thing that irked me a bit were the pesky fruit flies when we sat inside. I will def be back and be bringing friends!

We had the best time at Odd Society, and I am still smiling two days later. Initially perplexed,…read moresince our Uber dropped us off one block away, we had no idea where we were in the dark of the Canadian night. Surrounded by warehouses, did the driver want us to experience a "call of the wild?" However, Odd Society beckoned one block from the corner, and two seats were available at the strange bar. Strange because our view was blocked by a kind of ersatz plastic and wood wagon wheel blocking our view of the servers and bar. It was reminiscent of Utah's Zion Curtain. Later, I was told it was part of Odd Society's Covid protection and helped the bartenders stack things up. Okay, fine, but tear the damn things down. They're obnoxious. Odd Society creates an array of liquors made from ingredients sourced locally by law. It's required by their license. I tried almost all of them, and most were fantastic. Abby and Colin, our servers, were charming, fun, and educational, answering my questions, which became increasingly inane as the alcohol took effect. The distillery also mixes fantastic cocktails, and mine, named Midori, was friggen unbelievable. I had two of them along with my liquor tasting. My Midori was made with a special concoction called Portuguese Sweet Milk, or something like that. It was amazing. I want one for breakfast. The fun kept coming, and I didn't want to leave. Alas, we had reservations at Lunch Lady up the street. We should have stayed at Odd Society. Lunch Lady was a disappointment. Try Odd Society out as both a distillery and cocktail bar. You won't be disappointed about either one.

I have a friend who loves to drink so when he was back in town, I bookmarked this place to bring…read morehim to as I saw many great reviews and pictures. In summary, the place was ok, but noticed after the fact that we were overcharged for the drinks. It's a small space - about 3 high tables, one lower one, each seating 4 to maybe at most 5 people, plus a bar. I reserved a table for the 2 of us at 3:30 pm on a Sunday (earliest reservation they had as they open at 3 pm) and we were seated at 3 pm. They checked our vaccine passports and then seated us. Not long after we were seated, the remaining tables were all taken just after opening for 30 minutes so I would recommend reserving if you prefer tables over bar seating. The waitress brought over a drinks menu and food menu. The menu showed cocktails at $13. We chose our drinks and ordered, then the waitress came by with a second menu that she said was for Sunday only. She apologized and said she normally doesn't work Sunday's so she didn't know this promotional menu was available. This menu had some cocktails on promotion that I would have not minded to try, but I had already received my cocktail. Oh well. I had the Violet and Claire, which looked great and tasted pretty good for the first half. However by the second half of the drink, it started to taste too sweet. It was not bad for a cocktail, overall. My friend said the Smoke Between the Sheets cocktail was alright as well. We got our bills quickly as we had a second place to visit afterwards. After paying, I snapped a picture of the bill at the time but did not notice until I got home that to my surprise, each cocktail was listed on the bill at $14.95. I recalled their physical menu saying $13, and verified this with their menu online. Unfortunately, I did not notice the discrepancy until I was home, otherwise I would have mentioned something. Note that our visit was at the end of November 2021, and at the time I'm writing this review (December 26, 2021), their online menu still has cocktail prices at $13. So, I am not sure if this was a one time mistake when we paid, or if they have just forgotten to update their menu? Either way, this was disappointing. Because of the entire experience I probably won't visit again, especially with all the other options Vancouver has for cocktails.

We ordered a bottle of red, the golden beets salad, meatballs, clams and mussels, burrata with tomato jam, a ragu pasta and one of the pizza with hot honey. Server is very chatty and attentive, and he's been super friendly throughout the night. Golden beets were a tad too hard for my liking, the mussels unfortunately were not fresh, it had a very fishy aftertaste. Meatballs are not bad, but I think Nonna's were better. The burrata with tomato jam really stood out amongst the appetizers. The ragu pasta is decent, didn't wow me, but I do like the interesting shape of the pasta, which makes it more chewy even though it was cooked softer than al dente. Pizza is nice, hot and ultra thin crust. We ordered the panna cotta which was a nice surprise. The chocolate shavings and pistachios add a really nice crunch to the smooth silky panna cotta. The server surprised us with his favorite dessert which is the olive oil cake. Honestly just by looking at the menu, is not something I would have ordered. But the taste was delightful, cake is light and moist, the orange flavor really came through. Many restaurants lack in the dessert department, and desserts are usually underwhelming, but this time I'm glad it ended with a bang. They're on the pricier side, as expected, so is not somewhere you can go regularly. But if there're special occasions or friend gatherings, I'd be willing to come back. With all the space they have, wish they have a dog friendly patio though.
