How does one overcook a baseball steak? Very disappointed. Didn't know it could go more than medium rare? The very centre was medium-rare, the entire way around was well-done, chewy, brown, dry grossness. That was my last trip to the Coquitlam Keg. They have messed up enough times

The ribeye was done the way I liked. The billy miner pie is always a great finisher and the bacon wrapped scallop was perfect. Always a great date night. The service and ambience is great as well.

We came here for the last weekend of lobster summer. Idk if they added too much salt to the water but our lobsters were so salty we couldn't taste the lobster's natural sweetness. We didn't even need to dip them in butter cause it was that bad. I wish our server was more attentive she didn't bring any towelettes and our hands were drench. That, along with the saltiest lobster made the dining experience not very good.

My first time at the Keg Coquitlam location. Was able to make a 7:45pm reservation and got there on time. I really appreciate that they had someone outside checking for vaccination status and ID. I waited for a 5 to 10 minutes with my friend and the host apologized to say that the people occupying our table was taking longer than expected and we were given a choice of a table in the lounge area or wait longer for our table in the dining room. My friend and I decided to take a table in the lounge. As our dinner was late, the prime rib was no longer available as rare - the way I like it. Decided to try something new and decide to order the 6 oz steak and lobster dinner ($46). My friend ordered the 12 oz sirloin steak and it was his first visit to the Keg. My friend really enjoyed the complimentary bread, his steak, and the overall experience. We decided to order the Keg's famous Billy Miner pie dessert and now my friend is asking to return next month for his Birthday . Always a solid time and good meal at the Keg, can't go wrong.

Had a $50 gift card and decided to go on a Friday night. I made reservations for 9pm. When we got there around 855pm we checked in with one of the front people. However, 9pm came along and we were still waiting. 9:05 things weren't busy and so my bf went up to the front. They didn't even mark that we had arrived. Our server was great and attentive at least. Ordered calamari, fried cauliflower and the ice cream pie. All delicious! Didn't have a big appetite so we stuck with those appetizers. Highly recommend that ice cream pie. In terms of the restaurant it's pretty dark with personal dim lights at each table. I don't see myself coming here for steak but if I ever crave that ice cream pie I'll be back.

Well-mannered Cory our server was attentive in checking how things are going. Ordered 2 appetizers the Escargot and never-before-have-I-ever tried the Mushrooms Neptune (mushroom caps, crab, cream cheese). That cream cheese really got that smooth texture that just melts in your mouth. On with the Main dish, I had the Blackened Chicken Oscar. I asked Cory if the blackened chicken is actually black chicken. I know it may seem like a ridiculous question, but I had to know. The answer is...no. The chicken is not black, it's just spices on the chicken that appears darker than usual. The dish was surrounded with garlic mashed potatoes, shrimp, scallops (very good), asparagus (got to have my veggies). Time for dessert. The pie. Now I can't remember the exact name, so any tasters, can correct me on this. I think it's the mud pie, or billie mud pie. I took 2 pictures from 2 different angles. As you can see from a glance who tall and thick that pie is. And the top view you get to see the array of chocolate and caramel pattern with a pile of almond slices. It's a cold ice cream dessert, quite big for one person, so I recommend sharing among 2 to 4 people.

Holy. The manager yesterday was a complete A$$hole. Wow. Never ever ever coming back to this location. And he spoke to us as if we were children..when in reality, we are most likely older than him. This guy has serious issues. Food was fine. Our server was EXCELLENT. Don't recall her name however. She was quick, informative, super friendly and polite. Still didn't make up for the managers stick up his you know what. Pecan crusted goat cheese steak wasn't bad. Kind of an overload to be honest. I wouldn't get that one again.

Love the Keg in general... Been a regular for years. I love this location because its near my work. I come early to beat the rush. Our go to is the prime rib, with garlic mash, and caesar salad. We've never had a bad meal here, very consistent with all their locations. Great service and price. Overall, its a great steak place we will come back again and again.

I didn't know there were multiple locations. I really hope this location is not indicative of the other locations. We're from the SFBayarea, visiting relatives for the holidays. This was our finale dinner as we were flying back home the next day. My relatives took us to this "Canadian" steakhouse near their home. As we were led to our table, a man at the table next to us was beginning to kneel down. Yup, he proposed to his girlfriend. That tells me this place must be special. The service, I must say, was top notch. Our server attended to us in a timely manner, kept our glasses full and regularly checked in on us without being intrusive. As we ordered steaks, we noticed a small note on the menu describing "Chicago" style steak. From the description, which states that they place butter on top and roast it in the broiler, producing a charred crust. I'm automatically thinking Peter Lugar's in New York. It sounded good, so 10 in our party chose the Chicago option. I opted out so my wife and I could try both styles. I changed my rating to 3 stars because of the wonderful service we got from our server. She was attentive and regularly checked in on us without being intrusive, and I have to give props for the perfect medium temperature of my Non-Chicago Filet Mignon. Unfortunately, I can not say the same for my Wife's and the 8 others of our family. Unless we are dining at a 2 or 3 Michelin Star establishment, we don't dare complain about the food and send it back for the obvious fear of what might be done to it. These "Chicago" Steaks were not charred around the edges, these were BURNT! Enough to turn my Son's medium New York Strip to medium-well...oh who are we kidding...it was well done it was just terrible. If this "Chicago" style can't be done properly in a consistent manner, Stop offering it.

I stopped by this location for a birthday party. There is a rule that all guests have to be present before being seated. I understand where the restaurant is coming from, but it was somewhat bothersome for a large group reservation and I am one of the first guests to arrive. Anyways, we were eventually seated. I find that most of the Keg locations have been very consistent over the years for food and service. This location is no different. Also, the restaurant is very child friendly. They have car seat holders for parents to place their infant car seats and they know to serve children first before the children get restless. I ordered the ginger fizz, Keg Burger and mini creme brûlée. Ginger fizz had a good ginger kick. The burger and fries were made well. The burger was tasty with cheese and bacon. The fries were crispy. The mini creme brûlée was silky smooth while just the right size for portion control. I wish they offered their cheesecake and billy miner pie in the mini size as well.

    I can't bear it.

Wings are $2 more ($12.99) - I should have taken a pic or two of the menu to get all of the differences. Obviously, you're supplementing cost with your DD fees when you order delivery. The fellow behind the bar was super-friendly. He was working solo (dropped in there about 1:30pm on a Wed - not exactly "happy hour") :). I ordered two pints of their near-hazy pale ale, wings and potato skins and it came to $45. Not horrible, but the wings were the smallest size that Sysco sells (think pigeon) and the potato skins were tiny as well. Shrunken that the fillings didn't fill the skin. Repeat? Nope. Though, hate to say that as I found the bartender quite personable. There were a few regulars at the bar when I dropped in. Hoping this place sees a lot more activity on regular pub nights. Suggestions: get the medium-sized chicken wings (not the ginormous "turkey-sized wings"!) and make certain that the potato skins at least get alll of the potato back into them before you add the topings. :)

Also they have lots of flavors. I think we definitely have to come back to try the other flavors. We found them to be quite similar to Bakery Craft Brewery in Port Moody.
