I'd like to start this out by saying, I came in at 9 PM dressed and sweatpants, headband, and a sweatshirt. For all intense and purposes, I look like a messy American. I did call beforehand, and confirm that there was no dress code and there would be no issues with me dressing like I'm dressing. From the moment I walked in, I did not get the feeling of being judged. It was quick and easy service. The waitress always had a smile on her face and was very friendly and very attentive. Regarding food: I started with a mock tail and the pull apart bread. I highly recommend the bread, it was a delicious start to my meal. And since it was just me, I had a couple to take home to my friends. The steak frites was on happy hour, so I ordered that along with a crème brûlée for dessert. Steak Frites: Fries: I wish they were just a little more on the crunchy side but overall they were seasoned well and tasted like a good fry. Salad: I wish the salad was a little fresher, and had that extra crunch to it, but overall the salad was excellent, it was a nice change from the fried food I was eating. The steak: the steak I ordered was medium rare, however, it did come a little overdone. The side of horseradish really helped flavor this dish up. I also loved that it was a good horseradish, I am used to really tame and mellow horseradish, and I hate it. This had a great flavor and made my nose water a few times. Just how I like it. Last but at least, the crème brûlée for dessert: Now, I have tried a crème brûlée at every restaurant that I've gone to if it was offered on the dessert menu. Sadly, this doesn't even get top 10 crème brûlée. The texture felt a little off, and the top layer almost seemed too thick. Not to say that this crème brûlée not good, but I would definitely go with a different dessert option if you're a little more snobby with the Brûlée. Overall, I would totally return with my friends, it has a great atmosphere and intimate lighting. The servers were excellent and friendly and attentive and the food was pretty good. read more

What sets this cactus club apart from all the others is the staff. Starting right at the door, they have the most friendly welcoming hostesses. Unlike other locations, you immediately feel like they appreciate you dining there. This is our favourite location to pop in for happy hour, and since we do this often we've had many different servers and they have ALL been excellent. They are friendly, personable, professional, and so so patient with my kids. Two managers stand out as phenomenal. Kayla is one of them, she goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and having the best dining experience. Another one is a man who made my kids feel so special, talking to them about going back to school and telling them stories of his own kids their age. The restaurant itself has a wide range of comfortable and clean seating areas. The patio and more secluded back dining area are a great touch. I don't know if it's the great vibe this restaurant has that influences this, or if the chef does things differently than the other locations, but the food and drinks taste better here too! They consistently have the best sushi, my kids say the fries here are their favourite, and every dish is always seasoned perfectly. 12 out of 5 stars, highly highly recommend this location. read more

I came to Cactus with a friend and was not disappointed at the service or the food. The place maintained physical distancing and the servers were kind and polite. I started off with the calamari and really liked the two types of dipping sauce it came with. It was a tad on the saltier side, though it was crispy and not soggy. TL;DR: The staff at this location acted with complete negligence and I ended up in the hospital with an anaphylactic reaction. The server barely cared on top of that. I would avoid this location altogether if you have allergies. I'm putting my review from google here to spread as much awareness as possible. I have been contemplating on writing this review for the last little while and decided I should so I can warn others with life-threatening allergies, and hopefully help reduce the chances of someone else going through what I did, or worse. I have been dining at Cactus Club since I moved to BC and every experience was great up until this time. Normally when I go to a Cactus, I alert them that I have severe/life threatening allergies to all nuts and every single location has followed a strict protocol except for this one. Normally staff will ask how serious it is, then they tell me they will let the kitchen know and that everything will be clean/kept separate, etc etc. Then usually they'll go check with the kitchen and let me know if something may contain or if something contains and can be swapped/removed. The server at this location said "alright we'll let the kitchen know!" And I assumed since they were busy, that they were just going to do all of that on their own. I ordered the rigatoni bolognese like I usually do. When it was served, it was served with garlic bread which I never had before. I was under the impression that it was a newer addition since I told them how severe my allergies were. I was super hungry so I scarfed it down, and started reacting within seconds. When we alerted the server, I asked what was in the bread and he had to go check because I was reacting. When he came back he said "oh yeah. That may contain tree nuts." He seemed barely concerned and said "uh, you good?" And a few other words. Because the reaction ended up being delayed, I said "I think so?" And he never checked on my table for anything other than refills (which was twice) and he only said "you good?" Both times. I was never offered to speak to a manager. On top of that, he charged my friend pull price for a drink that was never delivered. I had a delayed reaction where I ended up in the hospital, requiring three IV's and two doses of epinephrine. I have never experienced this amount of negligence at a restaurant before, and the lack of concern for the situation is appalling. This is peoples lives that this Cactus Club is playing with and it is completely unacceptable. If you have anaphylaxis please dine elsewhere because while I got lucky, someone else might not. read more

Just one night in Vancouver after an Alaskan cruise and Cactus happened to be just down from our hotel. A great find! Maybe half price bottles of wine on Tuesdays helped lol, but ambiance and service thanks Chad!) we're excellent. Maybe a little dark inside but comfy booths and music not too intrusive. We had a very good tuna tower to start with and highly recommend that with a bottle of Chablis to start. Then we had the two pictured entrees. I may not have the names right but portofino chicken (albeit with lobster and shrimp) and pad Thai curry were both very good. We passed on dessert but cappuccino was hot (although no biscotti). Gotta admit, during a pandemic it's pretty tough to find a place to find a place to 'socialize safely' now that all indoor dining has been shut down for a while! However I was so pleasantly surprised with Cactus -- they have plenty of outdoor seating where every table was well spaced out, and there's even an overhead cover in case it randomly decides to rain! (Duh- our city is called rain-couver for a reason!). All you have to do is put your name down and you will most likely have to wait for about 30 minutes for a table but it's worth it! If you happen to come during happy hour they have a drink and food special. I came on a Sunday so Sangrias were $1 off, and I got the cajun chicken sandwich with regular fries. Avoid!! Charged me for food that never delivered and refused to refund. Be aware. The SERVICE management from this restaurant has the WORST SERVICE. We ordered more than $200 of food for delivery. One of the items (Crab cake frites: $33.75) was missing and I called them right away. However CACTUS CLUB (W Broadway & Granville location) REFUSED TO REFUND. After continued talking to an employee on the phone about how ridiculous this is, she said her manager promised that they will give us a $50 gift card at the end of the day via email. Guess what? I NEVER received anything! Not to mentioned I had to prepay service fee and tips. I definitely didn't get any "service"! I also wrote two emails to westbroadwayguestexperience@cactusclubc afe.com before I posted this review. This is a shameful incidence that happens to our believed city of Vancouver. My work friends and I have had several really good nights out here. - The staff are always complete sweeties - The prawn ravioli are sooooo good. They may be small but the flavours pack a punch and are incredible. - Everything we've had from the happy hour menu has been fresh and tasty. Came by for a snack and some beer. Parking is a bit tricky here. There are some free spots on the side streets, and Broadway opens up at 2200. This location has a really nice (and most importantly, N facing) patio. Must be nice during the summer months. The inside is upscale and a bit quirky. Definitely stands out in this respect from the competition (Joey's etc.) There's some background music, but fortunately it's not so loud that it prevents chatting. I'm a regular customer at this location for many years but have stopped coming. Earlier this year, I was dining with my daughter when we overheard one staff member berating the hostess, stating that when I tell you something, you need to listen. We assumed that it was the manager but later learned that she was not. Very unprofessional for customers to hear! My daughter order the chicken sandwich but requested a different sauce. I ordered chicken lettuce wraps & fries. Her sandwich came out but it had the wrong sauce. The waitress agreed to change it but then later argued that it doesn't normally come with a sauce (which is wrong info). After waiting for a while, I asked about my fries. The waitress questioned me, asking when did you order it? I responded at the beginning. Fries and my daughter's meal eventually came. The fries were inedible as they were extremely salty. Sent them back and when a waiter brought them, he said that he hoped that they would be good enough for me! The manager acknowledged that she tasted the fries and agreed that they were too salty. The waitresses ignored us for the rest of our meal. They walked by with their back to our table, never cleared our dishes nor filled up our waters. Worst experience ever! wow! i must say i was totally blown away by their happy hour selection and food quality. i even commented to our server that Rob Feenie is surely doing his job. we ordered a few things like spicy chicken mini-burger, angus mini-burger, truffle fries, squash and shrimp ravioli, chicken pesto quesadilla, and drinks of course. both burgers were just amazing. they came exactly as advertised and described on the menu. the chicken had just right amount of panko crust; the chicken in the middle still took center stage. it wasnt your mcchicken patty, this was real chicken! add the sauce and mayo and specially the bun, "boom" you've got a winner. the angus burger was so juicy and packed full of flavour. real bacon was used as topping and fresh vegs too. as i've mentioned, the bread alone was awesome. but it was moist, soft, and flavourful. sort of like a hawaiian sweet dinner roll. every detail of the burgers was cared for. nothing was left to chance. the truffle fries...hmmm...another winner! crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. generous sprinkling of quality cheese and truffle mushrooms. the saltiness of the truffles complemented the fries really well. even came with garlic aioli dip!! double wow! we couldnt stop eating this dish...lol. the pesto chicken quesadilla was awesome too. perfectly grilled and created. packed full of chicken and pesto sauce, with a bit of cranberries for a touch of sweetness. the honey-lime dip again too it to new heights. came with bonus nachos too. saving the best for last, the squash shrimp ravioli took home the trophy! from the perfect and al dente texture of the pasta, to the mashed squash filling which was seasoned well, to the plump and fresh shrimp on top, down to the Truffle butter sauce...Amazingly delicious! the truffle butter sauce was a winner! so rich and full of flavour. i wish they gave us more. i could eat this dish all day! my guess is, this is where the iron chef truly showed his true skill! maintaining the integrity of the shrimp, making sure it wasnt overpowered by the sauce, but all blended together and in your mouth..."Heaven!" ( this dish will put a lot of good italian places to shame!!) its that good! service was also impeccable! our server was efficient, attentive, and always at the ready! made us feel welcomed and made sure we werent pressured or rushed! the interior was outstanding too. felt like gotham or a first class restaurant. expensive art adorned the walls, and just the rich brown colour of the tables and seats, coupled with the interior lighting and huge chandelier, made the experience a really good one! yes, i am surely going back to this location! lol! cheers! happy eating! read more

This is my 2nd time going to Cactus Club Cafe on my 2nd trip to Vancouver. I absolutely love this place! Both times we sat in the outdoor patio. Although I heard now, ever since they banned smoking at establishment, that business has gotten slow. Anywho, food was FANTASTIC! So delicious! The place has a very nice, low lightening atmosphere. I have been here multiple times. But because its so close to my work place, we usually have lunch here when we have a colleague leaving. Lunch again here is no exception. I like the fast that you can eat and be out of here in about 40 mins. Its quite fast. For super large group, they give you the option of preordering your meal. As well, they have a pretty big party room at the back that can fit about 50 people standing and sitting, maybe 35. Not exactly sure on the numbers. Servers are usually really nice.
