Finally managed to get a table at Cactus Club Cafe. My daughter ordered a Cheddar Bacon burger and my mom had the Ravioli & Prawn Trio. I went for something different this time. I ordered the Warm Pull Apart Brioche, and the Creole Crab Spinach Dip. These were both so good...especially the dip! The Creole Crab Spinach Dip is a new item on their menu, and it's quite a winner in my opinion. My daughter enjoyed it too. Just finished a mediocre over-prized lunch at the Cactus Club at Park Royal. I say over-prized for a reason. I ordered the chipotle chicken tacos from the handheld section which stated that burgers and sandwiches come with fries. The waitress took my order and asked if I wanted the fries, I confirmed. When the bill came the fries were charged extra at $5,75 for a handful. I'm not going to quibble over that, but I what I find objective is how the menu was deceivingly worded making it look like the fries are included. I feel nothing but contempt for these corporate apple stealing strategies. As a result I will not eat at this prickly establishment anymore and will gladly share my opinion to anybody who would like to listen. read more

My husband and I worked in the industry in San Diego for a long time and we are extremely hard workers. We know a gem when we see one! I have been to many cactus clubs and other restaurants in the same genera. Reservations were made for 3 of us. We were seated on the closed in patio. Sadly and no offence to anyone there was 10 girls from a rugby team or field hockey team, I'm not sure. They were all around 13 to 15 year olds. They weee having fun and I can't blame anyone for the loud noise they were creating. We asked for a table inside and we were refused yet I saw many empty tables that we could have sat at. We were given a table right across from them and refused it and took a table as far away as we could from them as we wanted to talk. Second complaint I have was one party ordered a coffee and needed a spoon a large soup spoon was given saying there were no small spoons. Really? A restaurant of this quality had no clean coffee spoons? These two main reasons for me dropping a star Food was fabulous. I had the chicken tacos and they were great, meaty and not runny with sauce. If you want something non filling get these. The other parties had the chicken sliders which came in 3's. They both raved about them and I took one home. we swung by cactus club at park royal for happy hour around 4:00 pm on a laid back tuesday, before our epic three hour movie marathon. we weren't hungry, but figured we should grab a bite before the movie, since our dinner plans mainly consisted of indulging in a large buttered popcorn, each. we got a nice, cozy booth and i ordered a bellini, a frozen slushie of rum, peach schnapps, sparkling wine, peach and sangria and got brain freeze after two sips. we decided to split the truffle fries and the med bowl, with falafel, turmeric rice, beetroot hummus, kale, cucumber, red onion, tomatoes, feta, kalamata olives, yogurt, and pickled red cabbage. the fries were a tad on the greasy side and lacked that perfect crispiness. on the flip side, the med bowl was a vibrant and healthy choice, bursting with flavours and textures. this cactus club is conveniently located on the south side of park royal, the village, next to whole foods. read more

It's clear the cooks they've hired really know what they are doing as evidenced by the fact our dinners did not roll off the line in 10 mins. Food was hot, exquisitely presented and prepared with TLC. Side note: I would recco the Cactus burger get a bit of a makeover tho, as well as the veggie one, as both feel and taste rather standard fare-y. I have been going here for many years and it is kind of like Steady Eddy of restaurants. It delivers good food at reasonable prices on a very consistant basis. Service is always excellent here despite being busy most of the time. Today we ordered grilled steelhead, my favorite, jambalaya bowl, my wife's favorite, butternut squash ravioli with prawns and feenie burger for friends. All dishes were delicious and especially grilled stealhead made of fresh water farmed steelhead was just delightful. The steelhead is farmed sustainably in Lois Lake BC instead of in open sea net pens which might affect wild salmon and marine life. This is a big plus for customers who are concerned about salmon farming practices in BC. I personally prefer the taste of farmed steelhead over farmed Atlantic salmon. read more

Outstanding restaurant at a great location! Being in the CCC Park Royal shopping center, this CCC is located in the heart of great shops, services, and other stores; and parking is abundant! The bus stop is also right in front of the center. The restaurant is modern and large yet cozy. There is a wonderful waterscape beside the outdoor dining area. My daughter and I had a late dinner here at 8:30 pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was dimly lit and slightly loud due to the hard wood floors and brick facia. It busy but not crowded. Most people were finishing up dinner. The vibe was social and fun yet cozy and relaxed. Upon being seated, the host presented us with the regular menu. The menu was full of number delicious choices. There were 2-3 vegetarian items on this menu. After I inquired about the these choices, Dustin S., our server, brought out separate menu with vegetarian and gluten free options. This menu had 14 vegetarian items and 17 gluten free items! I selected the the Tofu Modern Bowl and my daughter chose the Dijon Salmon. We shared the Rob's Flatbread as an appetizer. The food was artistically presented in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious! The flatbread was soft and fluffy with a crispy exterior. The sauce was lite and tangy. My bowl was the perfect mixture of flavors and textures. The grilled tofu was firm and "vegetarian meaty." The tabbouleh was traditional with heavy mint /parsley flavoring. My daughter (a foodie) was very pleased with her salmon. She loved its flakiness and lite miso glaze. Service was excellent! Dustin was professional, super attentive without being annoying, friendly, and super helpful. The restrooms were single gender and multi-user restrooms. The female restroom was modern in decor and clean. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. I've been here twice now, and both experiences have been excellent. This place seems to be cool and trendy, and always busy. The food and service was consistent on both visits, so no complaints there. Prices are on the high side, but the food is tasty. The blackened creole chicken is really good, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak frites was cooked a perfect medium rare, and the fries were nice and crispy.
