My son bought a used car from Cactus Jacks. He's in the Autism spectrum and has memory problems. The interest rate is terrible, and he can't afford to pay rent and is homeless. He inquired about selling the car back and was told he would have to pay 3000.00, he can't afford rent how can he pay 3000.00. Initially when he was in buying the car I received a call asking did I know him. I didn't get any information of who was calling me, only when I said yes, I was quickly hung up on. It's getting very hot outside and he has been sleeping in his car since October. He would like to return this car without having to pay the 3000.00 that he doesn't have. My experience with Cactus Jack's was extremely disappointing and stressful from beginning to end. I originally purchased a vehicle from the Surprise, AZ location. While test driving the car, I noticed that the heat did not work. I was told this would be repaired. Shortly after getting the car, I took it in for an oil change and was told there was a small oil leak, and the airbag light also came on. I had been told when purchasing the vehicle that it had not been in any accidents, but after further investigation it appeared that the vehicle had previously been involved in one. Before going to Surprise, I also dealt with the Country Club location. My interaction there with Liz was not a good experience. I felt rushed and pressured into accepting just any vehicle, and when I had concerns I was basically told that I shouldn't expect much more from a used car. When I went to the Surprise location, Pedro in customer service was actually very helpful and professional. Unfortunately, the vehicle itself still had multiple issues. Eventually I was told to come pick up the car because it was "ready." However, when I arrived, nothing had truly been fixed. The heat still did not work, even though they said they had replaced the thermostat. When running the A/C there was a strong smell like burning wires. I was also told the oil leak wasn't actually a leak but leftover oil from a previous repair, and that they had simply cleaned the area. Things escalated when I spoke with Mark, the manager at the Glendale location. When I explained that I was not comfortable keeping the car due to the unresolved problems especially the airbag light still being on, which means the airbag may not deploy in an accident he became very dismissive and argumentative. Instead of addressing my concerns, he suggested that if I wanted a car with no issues, I should buy a 2026 vehicle. I was also told that what I was experiencing was just "buyer's remorse," which was frustrating because my concerns were about safety and unresolved repairs. The interaction became uncomfortable and unprofessional. I felt disrespected and dismissed while simply trying to explain the issues with a car that had been in the shop longer than I had actually driven it. I eventually made it clear that I would not accept being spoken to that way and requested either a vehicle exchange or a refund. At one point I even saw another customer successfully switch vehicles, so I believed that was a reasonable request. I contacted the original location where I purchased the vehicle to explain the situation. After several conversations with different employees, I was ultimately told to bring the vehicle back and that I would be refunded. This entire experience left me shocked and disappointed. Purchasing a vehicle should not involve this level of stress, dismissiveness, and lack of accountability especially when safety concerns like an airbag warning light are involved. My advice to anyone purchasing a used vehicle: take your time, inspect everything carefully, check for leaks, test the heat and A/C, drive the car at different speeds, and pay attention to any unusual smells or warning lights. Don't feel pressured into making a decision because you need a vehicle quickly. Based on my experience, I would rate this company zero stars. read more

Frustrated. Bought a mini van and when I get it home it leaks alot of oil onto the driveway. I live in prescott valley approximately 90 miles from the dealership. I paid for the extended warranty ensuring of anything go's wrong they would fix it. I purchased this vehicle december 14th 2024. I am currently paying for the van to be towed from prescott valley to Phoenix where Cactus Jack is located. I also have to pay for a rental car while anticipating the work on the van is covered by the warranty I paid for. Let me say that all the bad reviews posted here are true based on my experience. Drove 4 hours to buy the car I wanted. Tire pressure alert on the dash was on. I had asked them to make sure it wasn't a bad sensor. Not done. Test drive went well. Paperwork went well also. That is where my good experience ended. Since they don't put gas in the cars they sell, I went up the road to fill it up for my 4 hour drive home. Second issue, gas gauge only showed half a tank so, faulty gas gauge. I stopped 2 hours into the drive to gas it again. Drive actually went well until I was 20 minutes from home and the car died. I was able to get the dealer to have it towed the next day (Thursday). At 4pm Monday when I hadn't heard anything, I called the salesperson (Jesse) who informed me the car was still not at the repair shop!! A week later, after dozens of texts and calls that went unanswered, I was finally able to get a reply from Jesse who then informed me that his boss told him that if the car had just run out of gas, I would be responsible for the tow! Lol. I made sure to let him know that the gauge showed 1/4 of a tank so, not sure how I'd be responsible at all. Knew right then the level of professional scammers I'm dealing with. It's been 2 weeks since I bought the car (drove it for about 3 hours) and it's still at the shop. Thankfully, the repair guy has been very responsive and told me it was a fuel pump issue so, let's see if the dealer still tried to stick the tow cost on me. I'm guessing 'yes'. Other thing I want to mention is that I asked a lot of questions to Jesse about the car since I would be making a long trip and wanted to make sure the car had what I wanted. I asked him if it was hands free ready with Bluetooth. It wasn't. Uconnect (Jeep) was not equipped on this model. So, between this lie from Jesse, the tire pressure sensor not replaced as I asked, the gas gauge faulty, the complete lack of communication or empathy topped off by now going on 2 weeks without the car (I've had to walk to work), you'd think they would have offered me some kind of discount. lol. Once they got my money, they cut off any communication with me. I have my first payment due coming up. I asked the salesperson to redo my paperwork so that my due date will reflect the 2 weeks I haven't had the car. Haven't heard back and I'm guessing I'll get a call when the payment isn't made. I also told them that they have to deliver the car to me when it's repaired since they are 4 hours away. I have no way to get there and, it is there fault this situation is happening. A legit car dealer would have done a multi-point inspection and caught these issues. I also asked for a report on what they did to the car since they had it. Never got that. For $17k you'd think I'd say least get a full tank of gas. Piss poor service and business practice. They wanted me to pay for the tow. Lol. Just let that sink in if you are thinking about giving them your money. Please, please, please believe all the bad reviews. Stay far away from this place. I'm guessing all the locations are the same. I went to the Surprise location. There is a reason why they offer such hassle free financing. They buy cars that look great on the outside. Lemons on the inside. Purchased a car here on March 2020 in June the transmission went out on it, I purchased their extended warranty to protect me it took them 1 month to "supposedly" fix it. they don't provide rentals i paid $1700 to rent a car and they did nothing to it, were now in November and it completely blew i just decided to take it to a transmission shop because i do not want to wait another month to get it fixed. Its going to cost me $2,800 to get the transmission fixed. So lets be real about it from June to July that's 3 payments 630 dollars. I email them hey you repo'd my car I was about to make a payment on the account. I said i don't care how late I have ever been I paid the balance off ect. I said I am three week's behind I understand that because I am trying to keep a roof over my head during this pandemic we are having. Where you repo'd may car at was where I was having an fing interview for a job. That I got hired for and was told I was really too qualified for but I needed an income. They then said well we can't do anything until you send us you information on employment. They then told Met that they can't take payment on the account until I summit some paper work. This place deserves ZERO stars. From the moment I purchased my piece of shit car there's been nothing but problems after problems after problems. Bad motor mounts, old tires, told me they " replaced " my tires with new ones and not even 6 months later here I am at discount tires with 3 split tires. My car shakes after many times of tires being rotated or balanced " new tires " front end alignments and even with new brakes and rotors. My mechanic looked at my car when I bought it I told them he said my motor mounts were bad cactus jacks said " that's ok when they completely brake I'll fix them " to bad my warranty is up already. Not to mention that they couldn't tell you if the cars been in an accident they don't have car fax , which it has been in an accident after I went and got car fax since the whole front end is spray painted and replaced. Also from time to time when I turn my AC on it smells like gas. At stop lights my entire car shakes and the hood looks like it's going to fall off. Car pulls hard to the right brought it in now it pulls hard to the left brought it in and nothing was done to my car cause it still pulls to the left. I highly do not recommend this place. Worst experience ever buying my first car that's supposed to " help " build credit but the place you make payments to is also a joke. They tell me my contract number is incorrect and I now have to spend an extra $20 in money fees on money Orders to pay my car payment because their system doesn't take my debt card for whatever reason. Creepy. I felt uncomfortable there in the dress I was wearing as each sales person stared at me and said my name without me knowing who they are as I walked in. Also, the picture online of the truck we went to look at did not show the dents and wear so it felt like bait & switch. Then as the sales person came out to the lot where we were looking at the truck he was smoking. I'd give it five stars for the service, but their service isn't something I have to drive everyday until I get something new. I'd gotten a 2007 Toyota Corolla about a year ago, and I must say I haven't had any problems with the vehicle. No problems at all. My first day there was an experience because I was only 19, it was my second time dealing with a car dealer, and I was desperate to get into something affordable and good on gas since I had just moved here two months prior. They gave me a few options that was worth a 600.00 down payment which was good and gave me a 300.00 discount. At the time, I thought I was doing something good. However, there were loads of paperwork to sign; considered I'd dealt with a dealership before, I should've learned my lesson and learned to read and skim through the papers given to me. I was too excited so I signed everything. My notes were only 195.00 every two weeks for two a half years. Okay cool. That's not bad. Maybe a few months after I had the car, i finally decided to take a look at the files and what made my car just 195.00 every two weeks. I mean that's not bad if you're getting a 2015 but for a 2007 vehicle? I added the price, fees, and interest to over 15,000.00 with the 26.0 interest included. That is down right a damn rip off. i Might as well have gotten a new car. Well now it's too late and I'm stuck with a used vehicle over paying for it. The quality of my car wasn't even up to par, but that's what I get for being so anxious. Just hear me out, to the teens and young adults who are very anxious for a car, the beginning is very convincing, but PLEASE read your fine print before purchasing and making anything final.
