Saw this pop up in a Facebook event invite and decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did! First off, we have a 3yo and I was so happy to see that this place is super family friendly. There's cornhole, a playground and plenty of grass to run around in. On top of that they do offer NA drinks so it was easy to keep our kiddo happy. We tried a lot of their beers and I have to say I enjoyed the majority of them. (I may be in love with Raspberry PopPop). They had a good little acoustic set going on and a very nice food truck. I love this place. So relaxed. The beers are original...love the Lucas with watermelon and the Chesapeak bay with strawberries. The staff is friendly, child and dog friendly. Relaxed. Lots of places to sit. Something for everyone. (Wine of you don't like beer but gee who doesn't like good craft beer?) Root beer for the kids. Amazing!!! read more

We love trying out new breweries, and I'd been wanting to try Cactus Land since their recent opening. Make sure to check out their open hours on their Facebook page before you make the long trek to Adkins, because I'm pretty sure they're only open the first and third weekend of the month. The venue is nice and open with plenty of seating outside. There wasn't a lot of room inside though. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and we had a great experience. The beer wasn't my favorite, but only because they were heavy on the sours. We opted for two flights of five, that way we could try all 10 of the beers on tap. Out of the 10, 5 or more were pretty sour, and unfortunately out of all the different varieties of beer, sour is my least fave. And the flights were a bit pricier than I expected: we paid around $26 for our two flights, but at least we got to try them all. The other beers were pretty good though! The IPA was delicious, and I'd definitely take a pint of that. Although I was a bit disappointed in the flights, I would like to come out here again and check out some of their new brews. read more

A bummer that they're only open two weekends a month - it was worth the wanderlust to find this hidden gem out in the middle of nowhere southeast of San Antonio. The beer was fantastic - i tried both Camelia (a great session IPA) and Prodigal Sun (a VERY good representation of an East Coast "hazy" IPA. It's difficult to find a brewery that does a good "juicy" New England-style IPA, so it was great to stumble onto this one. There were ten total beers on tap, and if they're all as good as the two IPAs, then this place knows their business. They also do growler fills! They only had 16 oz growlers for sale this weekend, but they said they would fill any growler you bring in, which is a huge bonus for those of us that have one too many growlers from other breweries that will ONLY fill their own glassware. Plus they had a food truck as well (great blackened fish tacos!), as well as a playground for kids, a dog area if you want to bring your pets, and even a deck with what I believe is a stage setup for live music. Smaller seating area inside, maybe 8-10 seats total, and although there are two seats at their serving bar itself, I'm not sure I'd want to sit there as people would be constantly ordering around you / over you. Instead, head outside, where there's ample seating, with great shady tables under trees, and some nice deck tables and chairs with fans / porta-a-cools and umbrellas behind the building. It wasn't crowded at all (outside at least) at 4 on a Saturday afternoon. I would absolutely go back, and anchor for longer and try some of their stout offerings. I absolutely love this place. The staff was friendly and accommodating, they were genuinely excited to share their beers with my wife and I. The selection of beers is very diverse, and exemplifies the small less than 3 barrel brewery model. They are trying different things and having fun. I will definitely be back and recommending all my friends for the short drive out to Adkins to get a taste of all their great work. Visited this place for the first time and I must say I'm quite impressed. I tried three different beers (2 IPAs and a stout) and I throughly enjoyed all 3. I'm a big fan of weathered souls brewing and it's awesome to see collaboration between local breweries, we need more of that in this city. For a smaller brewery they are doing an excellent job and I hope they keep it up and continue to expand operations. Currently they're only open the 1st and 3rd Friday and Saturday of the month, and I'd like to see that extend to more days. They also have a few wines for the non beer drinkers in the group, a white, red, and a sweet wine which is nice. Live music and food trucks make this a must try brewery, so if you're in the area I highly recommend trying it out. read more

Welp, people sure do love to complain don't they? Grand opening day, long lines, what do you expect from a new brewer that people are excited about. "Poorly executed" haha have you ever opened a brewery?? No? Thought so, overal yes lines were long, lots of people, beer was excellent, brewer and wife are extremely nice. Haha I don't know what else you one on the one day they opened, it was planned months in advance so basically everyone know and went out. People need to get over themselves online. My husband and I went here on a Friday afternoon and we were the only ones there for about an hour. Very cool, laid back, welcoming environment and staff. Good beer section too. I went to the one year anniversary. I was a little disappointed with the ticket price of $30. You get five 4 ounce samples of beer. Most breweries I get a pint for six dollars not 4 ounces. The Belgian style beers were not good. Other than that I had a great time. read more

We routinely like to visit local breweries and especially love grand openings. Unfortunately their grand opening was a logistical failure. It took 18 minutes for a person standing in line just outside the front door to actually get up to the counter to order. And the line was way out the door. They should have been able to account for the volume of people using the eventbrite RSVPs, so I don't think they were surprised. They need better logistics and coordination, then hopefully I'll be able to come back and actually try their beer. read more

Awesome place to spend an afternoon. A bit of a drive from downtown San Antonio but worth it if you're a beer lover and it's a nice day to drink a few beers outside. Not the kind of place that only has lagers and ales on tap- we loved trying all the unique beers, including sours. I just found my new favorite craft beer location in the San Antonio area. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of beer that they had available on tap for such a small brewery. They offer various serving sizes for their beers ranging from 4oz, 6oz, 8oz, 12oz, and 16oz depending on the beer you request. I really enjoyed this because I was able to throw almost all of their beers into two flights to allow me to sample 4oz of each. The beer was fantastic. I was surprised that their flavors and the quality was so high with such a large roster of beers on tap. There has to be some serious time management skills for this part time brewery to crank out that much beer at that quality in such a small place. The place also has a wonderful vibe. The area is beautiful with plenty of picnic tables in the shade of a tree to enjoy your beer. Plenty of parking was also available. I'll tell you what really makes this place worth visiting other than it's just a great brewery is the owners. It's family owned and ran by a husband and wife. After talking with them and seeing what kind of people they were, it just put the cherry on top for this place. I was sure to pic up several of their brewery shirts on the way out so that I could represent this hidden gem. I highly recommend that you plan a stop here. You won't be sorry. read more

What a hidden gem! Their beer flights introduced me to GENE SAID YOU CAN'T DO THIS, an IPA. They gave other ambers, IPA's, lagers, & stouts as well. The atmosphere was awesome, too. The band played very good music. They have a food truck but I couldn't sample the food due to seafood allergies. We will definitely return!!! read more

In all fairness this was for their grand opening, but overall it was not well executed. It's a good hike from San Antonio and parking is limited. The line was crazy, and after driving 45 minutes to get there we left because the wait was just about as long. I have heard that the beer is good, but I'm not venturing back out there to try it.
