It all happened so fast, but I never felt alone. Once my mom fell for the second time, I knew I no…read morelonger had the ability to care for her alone. Commuting home from work, I always passed Spring Hill and knew proximity-to-home wise, it was my best option. Little did I know, location would be eclipsed by the people I met and the experience my mother had in her last days. I walked in without an appointment, but out of desperation on a Friday morning and was introduced to my first friendly face, Rosa. Although not on duty as a tour giver that day, she took the time to give me a detailed walk through the beautiful facility, showing us the progress of their new renovations and answering some of my general questions. It was not the renovations that sold me, although mom was lucky enough to have a renovated room, but how Rosa treated all of the residents in the common areas and also how they responded to her. That kindness never retired. I began to move forward with the process of getting all of mom's finances and medical care/ medications in order when I met Shari. Shari is the director of the nursing team and a very very special human being. Her accessibility and communication skills are matched only by her compassion and the dignity she offered to my mother. Making multiple house calls in one week to assess my mom's condition and staying in constant contact with me during the process, Shari continued to go above and beyond throughout the entirety of my mother's stay at Spring Hill. On move-in day (an impressive one week after my initial, unannounced walk-in tour with Rosa) I met many dedicated workers who helped me with bringing in my mothers furniture. They helped me more than I could have ever imagined. Ken Halsey was the manager and he made me feel completely at ease. Very accessible by phone for me and was attentive to all of my questions/concerns. He was the one who was able to make it possible for my mother to get quality care quickly. Unfortunately, mom only spent about one month at Spring Hill before passing away, but I always felt like I was immediately part of their family. The place has a kindness that I am grateful for and appreciative of because my mom was at peace. When I came back, all of the staff would tell me how they loved working with my mother. It was more than just words. They had stories of how they enjoyed my mother and that made me feel that it was reciprocal. Overall, I will forever be grateful for the people such as Ken, Shari, and Rosa for taking care of my mother and letting her have the dignity to live her final days the way she enjoyed.

Management acts like they are going to do something, but never follow-through. She has the same lunch, every single day (grilled cheese) - that is if she's lucky enough to even have them remember to bring her meals. Her room has been infested with bugs and rodents (mice), and it took multiple phone calls and in-person complaints to actually have someone do something about it. The turnover there is tremendous - we've been through at least four executive directors, concierge, nurses and aides. The adage, "don't judge a book by its cover" certainly applies to SpringHills.

They…read moretalked about looking for an assisted living community were they could get the help they needed but also a facility that had a skilled nursing unit for those times when one of them needed a bit more care when needed. After visiting a few of the communities in the Moorestown Area they found that they really liked Brandywine because of the people that worked there treated them like family from the very first visit. Brandywine had everything they were looking for to live like they wanted. The daily schedule is full of activities, onsite services for beauty and healthcare were plentiful. The food is amazing with a great selection at every meal. My parents also like that they could still be independent by venturing out of the community almost everyday to grab a meal, go shopping, visit friends and attend church functions. Brandywine made this easy for them by providing a reserved parking spot close to the main entrance. If they were not able to drive they could arrange for the chauffer to take them to a Doctor appointment or other appointments. What really makes Brandywine great is the people that work there. They become part of the family and they treat the residents just like they are family. A few years ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer and it was determined that she would need hospice care. The hospice team and the Brandywine team worked together to make sure that my mother had everything she needed for her to live out the last few months of her life at her Brandywine home. The round the clock nursing staff was always making sure that my mother and father had everything they needed and kept my mother comfortable. When mom finally went home to be with the Lord, the Brandywine family came to the church to help celebrate her life and made sure that our family was aware that they would continue to care for my father like family. It is easy to see why I give Brandywine a 5 Star Rating. It is not only a great community but the people that they employ are the real reason for their success.

My husband and I moved my mom (Mercedes) into Brandywine in August of 2019 and everyone at Brandywine made mom feel so at home. She was very happy living at Brandywine and she built a lot of great relationships. But more importantly, several months after mom's move into the she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Mom was placed in their hospice program which was exceptional. The nurses, aides and management were so attentive and cared for her in such a loving way. I will forever be grateful for the amazing care mom received at Brandywine from everyone. Linda Goldberg

This agency has moved and is now located at 537 Nicholson Road, opposite the Walmart, Applebee's,…read moreacme complex. It's a huge building with lots of senior services including an adult daycare, Home Health Aides, very reasonably cost senior transportation, and a host of other programs that they offer to low income senior citizens in Camden and Burlington county. I'm very fortunate my mother lives in their catchment area as she needs the medical transportation. We've just begun this relationship with this organization and I've been impressed with how they manage to provide services even though they are operating on such a low-budget. I was happy to make a donation to them as I could see it goes directly into helping seniors like my mother. The staff there is so pleasant to work with and are dedicated and do such a good job. I will say however that because of the low budget and staffing and the reduced number of hours with the medical transport you have to make the calls in on time in the morning to schedule and it's required two weeks in advance for scheduling medical appointments and you have to call the day before to confirm every appointment. With more money I'm sure they can become more and more automated in this process or at least have more vans and more staff available. My mother said that so far the drivers were very nice and they were on time and that they drive good too. And that is high praise from my mother.

She and I were horrified to learn that the flowers would not be placed in her private room (a room for which she pays a hefty fee) but that they would be LOCKED in an office. That office is currently closed, and the person in charge will not be in during the weekend. What on earth possesssed you to make such a ridiculous decision??? If this is typical of Atria, I wonder about the organization as a whole. Do you make peremptory decisions like this on other matters???

Lots of false promises (in writing) and no follow through. Before I sent him here I asked all of the right questions and was told of course they could care for him. I had a false sense of hope because I was yes'd to death in person and over email. After writing a very large check before move in, it all went downhill from there. When mistakes were made I was told about the employees personal problems as an excuse for why things were not done - head of nursing care. Yes. This is true. What is worse is that their CEO will not respond to a letter I wrote to him which is consistent with the entire Atria package. There must be a better place. Ignore the nice lobby - do some more research and find the place with the best care around. I could write pages here but I am sure you get the idea. STAY AWAY.
