The school teacher Miari, did not say a thing to me about the injury when picking her up from school at 5:30pm . It was when I got home I noticed her left eye was extremely swollen and red. I thought it was pink eye so I sent a message to the school that night which no one responded or called me. I wanted to let everyone know so that others may not get infected. My husband called the next morning to inform them since no one reached out from the school. I took my child to the doctor on 06/20/2023 to get checked out and the doctor confirm that it may not be pink eye but to keep watch; her eye was very swollen and it looked like she may have gotten hit in the face. My husband then spoke with someone again at the school to look at the cameras and that we can have access to the cameras and that someone would call me. No one ever call me so I physically had to go to the school and re-explain wheat happened to the front desk which she said she saw the message but failed to reply. So you all allow sick kids to come to school??? I spoke with someone sitting at the front desk and we went back to the classroom to speak with Miari and she then said well 2 kids in the classroom had pink eye!! I was not aware and nor was the school director! This is an extreme violation of OSHA so I immediately removed my child from the school due to the lack of care and communication. The teachers don't even have access to Kids Reports, which sucks! At Primrose, which we are going back to now, allow open communication between the parents and teachers. I literally have to call the school and ask every day to send pictures of my child to ensure she is ok. Primrose always keeps me updated and send loving messages about my baby girl and ensures that she is loved and being treated well. I would not recommend this school for the academics or structure but they are the cheapest I've seen and that probably why they have so many downfalls bc its a "cheap" school. I'm worried everyday about my child even eating. They are so short staffed they weren't even able to feed my baby solids bc they were "too busy". No parent wants to come and pick their child up from school and hear things like. she was fussing all day or she didn't sleep, better yet does she throw up all the time??? Invest in your employee' s knowledge and communication styles. I will never come back nor recommended this school to anyone. I had no choice but to report this school to OSHA since no communication went out about children being contagious. They don't even wear masks or uniforms to shield any allergens her from the children that maybe carried from outside at this school. 4 weeks wasted. Please go to Primrose. read more

We do NOT recommend Phoenix (Cadence) Academy daycare. Our girls started daycare for the first time ever this past Tuesday. They've been home with grandma for the last 2 years. We were prepared for lots of crying, screaming, not eating, separation anxiety but not physical injuries. According to the daycare, these injuries were "self-inflicted". On the FIRST day, our youngest twin got upset because both her teachers were not in eye site, so she banged her head to the concrete slab while playing outdoor (scratches on forehead). They said it happened again on the SECOND day, but much worst (huge knot on forehead). I understand there are other kids in the classroom but how did they manage to let this happen 2 days in a row? The director refused to show us video footage stating that other kids are in the video; therefore, she cannot show it to us. The first two days were hectic, and kids were crying so we left the facility without the chance to really sit down and discuss what had happened. Yes, they explained what happened, but did it truly happened the way they claimed it did? We came back on the third day around 1:30 PM and asked to talk to the director but she refused to talk to us. We wanted the opportunity to sit down (without crying kids) and talk about what had happened the first two days of daycare. She said she's busy and that she'll be gone the rest of the day. We then came back around 03:00 PM to collect the girl's items and withdraw them from daycare and guess what ... the director was still there. I'm sure she saw us but did not even attempt to talk to us. read more

If there was an option to put zero out of 5 stars, you bet I would. My son attended for almost 2 months and my son loved it there. Today I received a call from the school stating my son is being dismissed from the school because he is "aggressive" and some other BS that does not describe my son. Mrs. Nicole has referred to my son and several autistic children as "bad kids" because they play like children and act like 3 year olds. I don't know who the h*** that lady thinks she is calling children "bad" to their face or the parents. My son loved this school and all the teachers except Mrs. Nicole, he was TERRIFIED of her. He ran AWAY from her because she did god knows what to scare him. We demanded footage of her accusations saying he threw things to hurt others, pushed them into bookshelves and tables and hitting other kids. They REFUSED to release ANYTHING and just saying "he's dismissed. No longer allowed. Mrs. Nicole should not remain at this establishment a single day later. And the regional director of this school stated that "nothing can be done because we have a teacher shortage". They couldn't be bothered by the fact that this teacher HAD IT OUT FOR MY SON. He came home bleeding through his shoe one day because the teacher refused to inspect a "boo-boo that's hurting my foot", he came home today sitting in his own filth because the teachers refused to change him since he was "dismissed". ON TOP OF THIS, Mrs. Nicole did not even ATTEMPT to TRY to potty train my son because she didn't "feel like he was ready" even though we told the school that "he needs potty training help" Mrs Nicole is a disgrace to the school, an INSULT to daycare providers, and an abhorrent person to decide that she can go around parading to other teachers talking BAD on all her students. How DARE her inconsiderate behavior regarding my child. read more

I waked in to do a walk through for my almost 4 year old. As I walked in and was treated more like an inconvenience than a potential paying customer. Second, she walked me past a large room FULL 25-30 maybe more) of what she said were 4 and 5 year olds with only two teachers, then well walked past another classroom with what I'm assuming were 1 year olds. As I walked by this sweet boy was not walking fast enough for the teacher I'm guessing and she snatched him up by his tiny arms and aggressively sat him in his chair. Having a son at the exact age, imagining that being him being handled like that I then told the assistant director I had seen enough end was ready to leave. I WOULD NOT want either of my children handled like that. Put an instant knot in my stomach seeing that. read more

I spoke to the director Sabrina on 7/15/2022 in reference to availability for infant class . She confirmed there was an opening on 8/15/2022. Same day I received a text in reference to the elementary school for my other child for after school pickup. This person provided me with tuition rates for both children. Today, I arrive to the daycare and both the Director and Asst Director state they do not have an opening and act as if no persons from the daycare had talked or text me for my appointment to tour the facility. They denied they sent the TEXT as a followup to our conversation. I was definitely sensing some racial undertones as I am an African American Mother, Im not who they expected to walk through the door therefore there I was told they have NO space for my children. As a Woman of Color and Navy Veteran Im disappointed but appreciative to witness this conduct before registering my children. please chose another daycare. After having a horrible experience with Kids of Clay (look them up on the state directory: it's a horrible place) I took my two littles here beginning in 2011 until 2013. I can attest that at least back then it was the best day care in Forney (there's not a lot of great licensed care out there) and they were fed nutritional meals and great snacks and were actually learning things that helped them get ahead when they both got to school. After enrolling our youngest daughter and paying the outrageous enrollment fee we almost instantly regretted it. We had done a tour and were told that an app was used where we could logon at anytime and see the progress of her day (what she ate, artwork she had done, pics of them at circle time, etc). By the end of her first day we had no updates on how she did, no updates to the supposed app and she came home less excited than she had been when she went in. By the end of the first week, her teacher had quit, they replaced the teacher and didn't tell us, and our daughter was crying every morning not to go to school. My husband went to pick her up around noon one day and they were all napping, he witnessed the stand-in teacher with a child's face and jaw in her hand and yelling at him. As soon as she realized my husband walked in she dropped her hands and her entire demeanor changed. NOW we realize why our daughter didn't want to go. I immediately brought it up to the director who assured me it would be handled, but the next day that teacher was in there again. I pulled her out immediately and they still charged me for a full week, were unwilling to reimburse or make the situation right, etc. And then lo and behold the director was gone and a new one was in place. This school lost my son....do I need to say anymore?! The teacher who I did not recognize had told me that my son wasn't there when I went to pick him up and nobody knew where he was. Luckily he was only hiding in the bathroom but the fact the teacher was clueless and had no idea is beyond irresponsible. When I called to speak to the director about this, I had left a message to have her call me back. After 3 more messages, I never received a call back. Again, completely irresponsible! You lost my son and I need an explanation. I will never recommend this school to anyone! We are lucky that he was found safe but I could never trust this place again and I would highly suggest you look elsewhere!! read more

We do NOT recommend PCA (Phoenix Children's Academy) Cadence in Forney, TX. If I could give a lower review I would. Our children have attended this facility for years (until this last week) and the quality of this facility has decreased so dramatically especially in the last few months. Lately they've been more worried about appearance than addressing issues with the quality of care. Way too much drama with the new director and new teachers. They are rude, talk poorly to the children and parents and lack the ability to see their errors in the decisions being made. I recommend anywhere but PCA. read more

After moving to Forney less than a year ago our little one really hated his new daycare. He would cry and beg to stay home. So we tried this school and he LOVES it. He is excited to get ready each morning and head off to "school." They actually teach instead of just babysit and he is learning so much and really enjoys doing new activities each day. The tuition cost is slightly higher than his old daycare but the quality of care is great. I'm very confident now that he is learning what he needs in order to be ready to start kindergarten next year! read more

We had been on the waitlist for almost a year and a half before I received a call that they had an opening. I was excited because I had read so many great reviews and their activities and curriculum seemed wonderful! They even offer swimming lessons in the summer, which was an added bonus. He gradually worked his way up to the pre-k room, named "Bookworms" and that's when I noticed some changes. Of course, pre-k is preparation for kindergarten, and my expectations were that they would be having the children do less play, and more learning, which I was totally on board with. And that's exactly what was delivered. However, my 4 year old was obviously not ready for that yet. Again, totally okay. I get that too. They sent home progress reports about once a month and repeatedly reported that they had trouble getting my son to sit still and follow direction when it came to writing. They showed me the pages and pages of letters that they had asked him to trace, all blank except for a few scribbles here and there. Okay, further confirmation that he's not ready. About 2 months ago, I received notification that they would be incorporating what they called K-club into their curriculum, which meant that one day a week, the class would participate with the next level Kinder Prep class to get them more acclimated with writing, a classroom setting, etc. I had already expressed to his teachers that I was planning on waiting a year before sending my son to Kindergarten because I just didn't think he was ready. Once he started in the K-club program, he started receiving homework. I was so dissapointed. Again, he is only 4 years old. The homework included writing out full words, writing numbers up to 100, drawing pictures of what it would be like to attend kndgtn, site word practice and several work sheets which involved tracing and writing letters. I was told by his teachers that he didn't want to sit for the writing. He just refused to do it. He would not sit and do worksheets. Well, I'm sorry, but what 4 year old would? Apparently other kids in that class had no problems with the assignments, but in my opinion and in my experience, I just don't think this is age appropriate. Just this week, on Tuesday, I received a call from the assistant director about my son's disruptive behavior. This was the first call from the assistant director I had ever received, actually the first conversation I had ever had with her about my son's behavior in class. I met with her that afternoon and we talked about an action plan - she assured me that they don't believe in "throw away kids". The plan was to move him back to the class he was in prior to the pre-k class. I was okay with this, thought it was a great idea in fact! I was so concerned by her call, that I even contacted my pediatrician to make an appointment. I made drastic diet changes after doing a lot of research and sent him to school on Wednesday. Everything seemed fine, no bad reports. On Thursday morning at around 10:30am I received another call from the assistant director. She said that my son would not sit down at circle time and was running around the classroom playing instead of listening to his teacher. They asked me to pick him up. I left work and picked him up. When I got there I was taken into the director's office while my son sat just outside the office quietly eating his lunch. I was told by the director that my son's behavior was so bad that she had teachers wanting to quit and not show up for work. WHAT?! And I'm just now hearing about this? They told me it had been going on for months and progressively getting worse. The communication I experienced between parent and teacher/director at this school was virtually non existent. To go from a phone call on Tuesday, to an action plan that afternoon, to trying said action plan for one day and getting asked not to come back by Thursday is shocking to say the least. To be told that teachers wanted to quit because of my son was heartbreaking. I almost lost it. Completely unprofessional. I was assured again, this time by the Director, that they do not believe in throw away kids. But they gave my son one day with a new action plan. ONE DAY. I'm left with less than 24 hrs to find new daycare in Forney, which is next to impossible because all centers are full and have long waiting lists. The worst part of this is, my son doesn't really understand what's happening. I don't even think he's grasped the fact that he can't go back there. I would not recommend this daycare center if you have a child that's all boy, that is independent or strong willed, because he or she, will not fit into their mold. The last thing I want is for my son to be discouraged about the learning process and I believbelieve forcing it on youngsters too early sets them up for failure. He's a good kid. Not aggressive at all, and the most imaginative little boy I've ever had the pleasure to know. I'm so blessed that he's my son. Not a good fit for ADHD read more

We are beyond thankful for Phoenix and it's wonderful workers! They have welcomed all of our babes with open arms. They have been great at accommodating our requests when it comes to dietary restrictions, diaper changes, etc. The workers are all extremely friendly and the facility has good security precautions in place that give us peace of mind while we are at work. I have 2 kids and we have been taking them to PCA for the last 4 years. I choose a child care facility by the vibe I get from the teachers and quality services provided. I truly feel all the teachers treat my kids as if they are their own! All of the staff are our extended family and they continuously challenge our kids with a well-rounded curriculum. The management staff are great, communicate well and always willing to work with us if any unusual circumstance arises. I highly recommend this facility! read more

They sent kd hm w the wrong bottle again. I left them a stern VM letting them know I wasn't happy that we have had issues getting her clothes and bottles back and reviving other babies clothes and bottles. If they can't get that right, how good are they at taking care of babies?! read more
