It's really tough to write a review about Caesar's Motorcyle Parts & Service. Not because it isn't a well known shop or doesn't have motorcycle parts & service. It's got all that. Not the most organized or clean or shiny place on the planet, in fact it's the patina that really gives it the charm. No, it's not that part that makes it difficult. It's the part where you try to separate the shop from the owner. In the end, you just can't separate Caesar's from Caesar. Caesar is a larger than life character whose eclectic life and personality just oozes out of his shop. He's been a fixture in Midvale City there on State Street and a giant in the SLC motorcycle community. As an outsider to that community, even I know who the guy is. Visit. Meet him. You won't forget it. In fact, he's such a big personality that he's been immortalized by UDOT. Next time you go underneath the TRAX bridge at about 7900 South on State Street, look over on the east side of the road to the concrete wall. There are cut metal art pieces depicting Midvale's past like the old Sharon Steel site. At about the middle of the concrete you'll see a dude on an old school bicycle (the kind where you sit atop a giant wheel) and he has a parrot on his shoulder. That's an homage to Caesar, who has been known to ride an old school bicycle with a parrot on his shoulder. So yes, do check out the shop. But at this point know that it's as much about the "Caesar" in the title as it is about the "Motorcyle Parts & Service" part. read more

Caesar runs a great HD motorcycle supply business and is very supportive of the SLC motorcycle community. He is considered a local treasure by many and is a real jack of all trades, with pictures and stories as colorful as his tye dye shirts and his trademark red jeans. His store has a wealth of cool stickers, cool shit, pins and parts. Need anything for your sled? Get it here. UPDATE: Caesar's, thank you for responding and for sharing your view of the issue. Addressing your reply in order: 1 - Your policy did not prevent the facts of this case: a Caesar's mechanic worked on the bike in two areas, and those were the two areas that showed severe issues the very next day on the first hours of freeway driving. 2 - Hourly labor costs are lower if I take off side panels and the seat/tank bolts before bringing to a shop. Even with the parts I removed, on the motorcycle the tank was secured in place by seating and not "just sitting on the bike" loosely. The removed parts at the time I brought it did not affect those areas showing severe mechanical problems the day after it left your shop. 3 - As for the tank: the original electrical issues were occurring with the tank mounted. Before parts were removed for speed of troubleshooting. I doubt it was an electrical ground cause by an "unmounted" tank... since the issue occurred while tank was mounted. 4 - When paying for the work, your mechanic advised me to put the bolt back in, but that your shop did not have the bolt needed. No problem, I had the bolt at my house which was up the street. Your mechanic said it would be fine to get home as long as I bolted it on once there. I took your mechanic's advice. As for the offer to let a Caesar's look at the bike again... I've had two near-death freeway experiences from the last time a Caesar's mechanic worked on the motorcycle, so I don't want a third. How to make it right: After our emails and reviews back and forth I would be a complete fool not to think there could be mechanical pranking or retaliation if I bring the bike in, but I would be willing to take it to another shop and have them correct the issues and send you the bill. If we went this route I would change my reviews to reflect that you care about making things right even when things go wrong. I look forward to your response. read more

It was very enjoyable to see Caesar at a car show when I was younger. He would pull up on a trike with a Macaw riding along next to him. I haven't had any issues with the business as I have never utilized their services. I have heard too many horror stories when dealing with the company that I won't even try their service. I have heard issues with customer service when purchasing apparel as well as a custom bike mysteriously disappearing from inside a garage days after it was built at the shop. read more

I'd agree that there isn't a "defined" line between Caesar & Caesar's Motorcycle Emporium. This shop does and will have a history an legacy. Caesar's Motorcycle Emporium offers Service, Parts & Clothing to a wide consumer base locally & word probably spreads throughout other states as well. The "Emporium" is extremely busy so taking steps to clear up all "POS" (Point of Sales); I'd recommended that ALL invoices or work orders be filled out completely. Having an understanding between all parties involved would help in many ways. Obviously, 98% of all service related businesses out there have this. This simple step would benefit both consumer & "Emporium" transactions. Work orders/invoices could be utilized as summaries & recommendation's). This may take a bit more time. However both parties should be a part of it. Emphasize the work being done (detailed), & should there be other work that may or may not impact the MC, write it down. Additionally, make space for customers to write somewhere on the same Work Orders or Invoice. This way those items can be checked or initialed by both parties. Both parties will understand what's expected. Additionally, it may be beneficial for your mechanics to write on a separate invoice/work order items that they may come across. They could also have card index file for their own notes, filing it by Year & Model (or month/year) so that they can refer to it the next time it's brought in. I wouldn't recommend filing it by owner's name because that may change (unless someone calls every 3 months) to follow up- which by the way would generate more business.
