    June 2024 Forum Junior Suite
    Richard H.

Had a nice visit June 2024...stayed in a Forum Junior Suite. Room, halls, common areas and casino all quite clean. Exceptionally friendly staff. Fun updated casino. Machines paid reasonably. Will be back soon!

Beautiful hotel, a bit pricey. If you want to stay in the Forum which is a part of the hotel that sits across from the US. See pic below. Rooms were nice and clean, plenty of towels. I will definitely be back.

It was my first time going to the casino and I enjoyed this experience. It's very nice and big. I have no complaints.

    Where did we park?

Just across the river from mega-city Detroit is Windsor Ontario and they're definitely taking advantage of the proximity to the border. The hotel literally faces the United States! My friend is a big roller (something about seven stars?) and earned free tickets to a comedienne so we popped over this evening to check it out. Access to Caesars is easy enough (once you've cleared the border, just follow the signs) and they have easy free parking. Hooray for free parking! From there, good signage through the hotel and casino to find the Colosseum. Once the show was over, back the same way and out to the street to find our way home. Overall, a positive experience. We just weren't very impressed by our room or the hospitality. We used Expedia (note to self, never do that again) to book a room with a Downriver view and we did not receive that. Regarding cleanliness, there was both hair and mold in the shower, which was very off putting (glad I packed Clorox wipes). The bed coverings and sheets had multiple small holes in them, as well. I understand that this is a hotel catered to gamblers but it needs a lot of love focused toward the rooms, not just in the casino!! We will not be returning.

We have been here a couple of times, this time it was to see Derek Hough perform. We got there a little bit early and did some gambling and ate dinner at Spago. It is a smoke free facility and that was a nice change having been to the one in Vegas a couple months ago and it was hard to walk around. The dinner at Spago was very good and a convenient location if you are seeing a show after. The colosseum is a little weird to me. It is kind of a no frills, bare bones theatre compared to the rest of the place. There is only one restroom in that area, so just be aware of that. There is free parking but you have to walk through the casino to get to the colosseum. We throughly enjoyed the show and hope he comes back next year.

Great hotel. Great location and decent price. Room was clean and spacious. However it's too dark. Not good for business person that needs to work on their computer at night time. I need to move the standing lamp next to the table. The johnny rocket....don't bother going there. Horrible service. Horrible food. A place to avoid at all cost.

I drove across the bridge from Detroit to check out this location (I do live in Vegas) because I wanted to gamble and see what kind of food/vibes they had to offer. It was a decent property, nothing spectacular but I did enjoy my time while there .

It's ridiculous that there are no pools for anyone under the age of 18 here. Luxury hotel- but not inclusive.

They both knew that they wanted to find a venue somewhere within the city and initially they were going to have their wedding at the Madison. After two canceled dates, due to Covid, they ended up switching to Belle Isle Casino and I'm really glad they did. The place is beautiful- although it could use some cosmetic work- you have to really love that antique-urban style. It has two lovely staircases coming down from the second floor. We had 180 people, but we only used the main floor. (Second floor is beautiful) My son got married outside with the Detroit skyscrapers in the background. The weather could've been better, but it was beautiful anyways. The wedding planner set the room up, so they were 10 tables on both rooms there's a room on the left in the room on the right and a middle part where they set up the bar. Their first dance was in the middle, but then they ended up moving the tables and creating a dance floor on the right side. (Amazing day btw) Family and the out of town guests stayed at the book Cadillac and it was easy to shuttle over to Belle Isle. People from out of town loved the venue and being able to see the city. The only thing that I would warn anyone about is the bathrooms- there is one upstairs- but there's also one outside where you actually leave the building and go to -that's actually the one I used because I didn't want to keep going up and downstairs. Bathrooms are not luxurious- they are actually more like your elementary school bathrooms. Very utilitarian. You can have glam all over the place, but you're not going to get it in the bathrooms. You have to bring in all of your own tables, chairs etc. The caterer was Two Unique in Royal Oak and they were amazing. My guests told me that the filet was better than any they've had at any restaurant. This is the longest review I think I've ever written but I would've really liked to have been able to read one of these before my son's wedding. I was very nervous about having it there and it turned out to be a beautiful, perfect venue!

We rented out the first floor of the Casino only (it costs a little more to rent out both floors, but since the restrooms are upstairs, you end up going up there anyways). They supply the tables and chairs only, but you will need to rent table linens and chair covers, because they are not really nice-looking tables or chairs (but when they are covered, they are completely fine). You are allowed to enter the casino either 2 or 3 hours prior to your actual start time---can't remember exactly how long. We had to bring everything in----dishes, glasses, food, drink, etc. The catering company we used (2 Unique catering in Royal Oak) took care of all of that for us, though. They also took care of the table and chair linens. Because you can bring in your own alcohol, it is easy to save money on that, but you have to really consider how much people might be drinking because you don't want to run out or end up with bottles and bottle left over! They have two nice bar sets ups on the first floor, but you also need to hire your own bar tenders, or have the catering company you use do that for you. I don't recall the exact square footage of the casino offhand, but I know we were able to seat 180 people down there fairly comfortably, but had to move tables after dinner for the dance floor. We didn't do anything at all with lighting; the interior is really beautiful and the natural lighting combined with the lighting they have already was more than enough. Only downside was trying to get answers or assistance from the people working at Belle Isle. It was the only difficult part of the whole wedding, but I know they are very busy with a limited staff to handle all requests, so it wasn't that big of an issue. I had to be extremely persistent (maybe even annoying!! :) to get any answers from them. All in all, it was an absolutely beautiful location for a wedding, and we got (and still get) a ton of compliments. It was safe, affordable, beautiful, and unique, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind taking on a venue that requires a little more planning and work to use than a venue that has everything on-site (food, beverages, linens, etc.)

Confession: I really love Bingo…read more Now, maybe that makes you think I'm a bit of an old lady but you just don't understand! It's a serious rush! Hearing those numbers called, putting your dauber to the paper, feeling the adrenaline course through your veins as you find yourself 5 away from filling your card. 4....3...2... "BINGO" someone yells from the other side of the room. "WHAT THE F@*#?" You whisper scream while staring angrily at your card then angrily at the elderly woman holding up her hand in excitement. It can get intense. And more likely than not, you're going to lose. But it can be profitable. Seriously, I had 2 friends each win a grand. So that's what keeps me coming back for more. Even if I've only ever gotten one Bingo for $25. It's the promise of a cool 1K that gets me all excited. Paradise Bingo takes care of me when I'm here. It's a clean facility with super nice cashiers who take the time to explain to newbies what you need and when each card you buy is going to be called. I had two buddies who were new to the game join us last night and when they asked me what they needed to buy I just said "have them tell you," because the gals behind the counter can do a much better job that I ever will. The concession stand has some snacks and pop should you need a refreshment. The sessions go well into the night which means you're going to need fuel so go ahead and buy that bag of M&Ms, that package of Reeses Cups. You deserve it. They also sell daubers at the counter if you're not lucky enough to have a friend with a bingo bag full of roughly 10 of them to share like I am. The staff will walk around selling additional cards should you decide last minute that you wish to try your luck just a little more. They take both American and Canadian monies here and if you buy with American you win American back. Sameies with the Canadian. They also have electronic machines so you can play that way. I've never tried it because I like the traditional style but if you're tech savvy and curious you can get your touch screen on. I didn't win anything last night. Nor did anyone in my party. But that won't stop me. No. I shall not be deterred. I will get you some day, Roving L. I will make you happen sometime, full card. Yes. It will happen.

All the great restaurants and bars down in Greektown are just steps away. The convenient and safe parking structure take you right into the casino and I've never had to worry about my safety or my vehicle while I'm there. The casino gaming floor is set up in old Trappers Alley and they preserved the looks. Pegasus Taverna is still there and connected to the casino. The second floor allows smoking so if that's not your thing the entire first floor is smoke free. I like the bartenders at the second floor bar. They always have a smile on their face. I'm a video poker and slot player mainly and the selection of games are great. They also have all the table games too.
