    Build Your Own Panini

Fantastic cafe! They had so many breakfast options, everything tasted fresh, and they had a lot of drink options. I love that you can build your own breakfast or lunch panini. The service is amazing, too. Everyone was so nice & welcoming. The cafe itself is very cute. Highly recommend coming here.

Cute little café with the friendliest women working the counter and making the sandwiches/coffee. we explained we had never been there before, and she politely explained the menu and the drink options and even gave recommendations. Locally sourced products: Breadworks bread, baked goods from Potomac Bakery, Mediterra and Nancy B's... just to name a few. Love that they support other local small businesses.... I prefer to support a local business over a chain any chance I get! My coworker and I decided to each try a sandwich and share them. The 412 Italian had a generous portion of meat, a little spice, and a nice spread of Sun-dried tomato sauce. The Noelle roast beef was delicious with roasted red peppers and a horseradish sauce! It seemed like fresh, sliced roast beef not thin, lunch meat. Great spot for a nice filling sandwich. All sandwich options are available on a ciabatta roll, sourdough bread or as a wrap! They serve breakfast all day as well...well until they close at 2pm. They also serve delicious coffee, drinks and lattes...made to order. Give it a try!!!

What a great place to have breakfast! I had an avocado toast with a fried egg and a chocolate biscotti! Highly recommend! Great coffee as well!

Ricotta toast with strawberries and balsamic glaze

The staff are welcoming and helpful. Holly, Amy, and the other staff answer any questions you might have and provide excellent service with a warm smile. The food is creative and delicious. Chef John has come up with a terrific summer twist to his homemade ricotta cheese on toast dish by adding sweet strawberries and balsamic glaze. Brilliantly good!

In the mood for breakfast.. I placed an order through uber eats. It was so great getting a latte delivered along with a breakfast Panini. Breakfast Panini was very good and fresh!! Add bacon ham and sausage-with egg and cheese really hit the spot. I look forward to visiting the actual Café for take out sometime soon!

On a scale of documentaries to romances, Café 412 is a cozy romance that offers big city deliciousness alongside the coziness of a small town. Café 412 offered me the perfect Wednesday morning pick-me-up. I had no idea it was so near my old apartment because I would have taken advantage of the coffee and space much more often. Love a cup of joe with a place to relax and work with a good menu of options, Café 412 is a great location!

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffee. We had been trying local Pittsburgh coffee places every Sunday morning and this morning we decided to come to Cafe 412. It actually wasn't our first trip here as we had tried to come 2 Sundays ago but the place was closed and we had feared it to be permanently closed. Thankfully last night I took the time to look at their Facebook page and found out that they had done a catering event that weekend so we're closed. The inside of this place consists of an area to order which had a beverage display cooler, some baked goods and then a couple of chalkboard menus as well as a whiteboard with todays specials. They also had plenty of seating in a dining room on the other side of the restaurant. For our coffee on this morning I went with a large latte and then my wife ordered a small latte with hazelnut and chocolate. The food also looked good and so my wife went with the Italian Veggie Panini while I went with a build your own panini. My panini consisted of a fried egg and one meat and one cheese for which I chose capicola and pepper Jack and then I was also offered spinach, onion and tomato and only chose spinach. The menu described my wife's as 2 slices of provolone, spinach, tomato, red onion, roasted red peppers and finished with homemade sun dried tomato and Italian dressing. After placing our order I took a seat as I knew that the paninis may take a few minutes. While I was waiting at least 5 other groups of people came in, so this place was definitely hopping. It ended up taking 15-20 minutes to get our food, which was a bit longer than I had been expecting, but it is was it is. On the car ride home both my wife and I were able to try our drinks. Mine was pretty good with a nice milk forward taste and then the strong coffee in the background. My wife also loved hers, especially the chocolate and hazelnut flavoring. Once we got home I was able to open up my sandwich and it looked good. While the $10 price tag is a bit higher than I would normally pay, I was happy with how much capicola was on it. It tasted quite good too as I loved the capicola and there was plenty of egg, cheese and bread as well which left me full by the end. My wife also enjoyed her panini and the mix of vegetables, especially the roasted red peppers. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed not only our coffees but the pananis as well.

    Vegetarian Egg Sandwich

We were in the area visiting and wanted to pick up something to go. Got 4 of the vegetarian, cheese and egg panini breakfast sandwiches with spinach, onions and mushrooms to go. Order took a while to be prepared but the wait was well worth it. We were all shock by the size of the paninis. They were pretty huge. You can probably just get one and split between two. It was hot, fresh, and just yum. The panini bread was buttery yet crunchy. Really good! Definitely come check this place out if you are in the area!

    quaint and Charming.

Wow! What a great sandwich!…read more My wife and I visited Pittsburgh for the first time on July 30th, 2026. This is gonna sound crazy, but we stopped in for a sandwich at 9:00 a.m.!!! They've been around since 1933 and when you walk in you can feel the history. The walls are covered with painted caricatures of famous locals. This place is an institution. My wife and I sat at the counter and ordered a roast beef sandwich. All sandwiches come topped with tomatoes, coleslaw, and french fries. Yes, you read that correctly, they pile fresh cut fries onto all their sandwiches! The sandwich was massive and delicious! We are so happy we sought this place out and you will be too! Seek it out!

The sandwich itself was okay - just wished that the pastrami was actually hot - it was a little weird, since the items seemed to have been heated on the grill. Bread was forgettable. The fries were tasty, as they were hand-cut; honestly, they were better pulled out of the sammie and eaten separately with the cheese sauce. Staff were friendly, and there were a handful of people dining in; we were thinking of stopping by earlier, but there was a line during the lunch rush. You can also order online for a convenient pickup. Metered parking available in the area. +cheese sauce +tasty fries +friendly staff

I was actually quite impressed with how well it was prepared. Nice and flaky but didn't fall apart. The bun it comes on is well proportion with the fish. The only thing I could've went without, was the macaroni salad topped on the fish. However, the food here never disappoints. I'll be back.

It's a proper neighborhood butcher shop on Butler Street, the kind of place that had mostly disappeared around here. They do whole animal butchery with meat sourced from local Pennsylvania farms, and you can feel how much the folks working there care about what they're doing. It's not a huge space, just a display case full of cuts, a wall of house made goods, and a small sandwich menu, but that's part of the charm. The staff were friendly and happy to point me in the right direction. The sandwiches are what really got me though. The smash burger is fantastic, a double patty on a challah bun with that special sauce, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef, which makes sense given the whole operation is built around good meat. I also grabbed some of their house made pastrami, and it did not disappoint, tender and full of flavor. Knowing everything is made in house, right down to the bacon and sausages, makes it even better. If you live nearby and don't have a butcher yet, this is the one.

Love the decor in the shop. There were many prepared food options in the fridge, as well as various cuts of meat/preparations of it. We got two sandwiches, the cheesesteak and the marbella. I'm positive that if I went back to the shop they would've remedied the situation, but I didn't feel it was necessary! The sandwich we did end up with was good as well, unsure which one it was though. Very fair prices, and our dog was so happy we brought him home a bone as well! We chose to go here instead of making the drive to Chick Fil A on McKnight Road for milkshakes. My daughter & I noticed 1 worker handling food with no gloves on, pulling her hair back to a bun then proceeded to handle the food without 1. Not washing her hands after she handled the food and 2. not putting gloves on to handle the food. I politely asked the employee, do you wear gloves to make milkshakes. She responded, yes we do and she was very polite about it. The other worker came and asked her what I said and she told her. The other worker came to us with MAJOR attitude taking our milkshake orders. She proceeded to say to her co-worker, please pull my hair back because I don't want to hear anyone BITCHING about it. My daughter said, Ma'am, my mom just asked if you wore gloves because she was handling food, she pulled her hair up and then she handled food again without washing her hands nor did she have gloves on. The young lady became extremely upset and shouted.....I AM NOT TALKING TO YOU. At this point, both my daughter and I were shocked. The conversation became heated because we were explaining we asked a simple question and she was very upset, uprupt and rude about how she responded to the situation. I then asked for the manager, she stated she was the manager. I said can I have a conversation with you. She stated 'no you cannot' I am done with it. I asked her, how can you not address a issue that needs to be addressed. She stated again, I'm done talking about it (VERY RUDELY). From the time she started making the milkshakes her attitude was off. And boy, from the taste of the shakes you can tell. They were not good and extremely watered down. There is so much more to this encounter. Such as shame. So much for NOT going to Chick Fil A. We will take the drive the next time. Manager could use managering skills. I'm still so upset.
