It took a bit for our waiter to stroll back around to take our order, and for a Sunday morning brunch, I wouldn't have considered this place a "packed" house. When the time came around, I was first to place my order, I wanted something different so I ordered Shakshuka. Of course; I did my quick research of the dish before getting to the restaurant! Shakshuka is suppose to be a one-skillet egg dish, the eggs are basted in this rich, thick red pepper, tomato, onions, and garlic sauce, topped with satueed peppers. I also ordered a French toast and chai latte! Fast forward to when everyone dishes were dropped off, even though I was first to order my dish did not arrive. I waited around for 10-15 minutes, my whole family was pretty much done with their meals. I had to call over our waitress to advise my order was never dropped at the table. After letting her know, my dish was expedited to the table in less than 5 minutes. Could they have been a rush to send out the dish? Possibly. Because that was the worst dish ever and nothing like described. The peppers were not sautéed (or little to nothing) and were just sliced, plated for decor. The tomato/red pepper based sauce seemed like it was just canned tomato sauce, very liquid-y. Simply was not fond of this dish. The french toast were more like hard french toast sticks, I would've liked it to be on the fluffier end, but they were hard/toasted. Nothing that blew my mind. As far as my chai latte, it was divine! The perfect warm hug. The chai to steamed milk ratio was on point, and topped cinnamon. My mom ordered their $42 Entrecöte Frites; man, did that sound delicious. As a true steak connoisseur, she loves a bleeding rare steak! So that was the temperature she ordered, rare. I was excited to snag a bite or two from her plate to be the judge it for myself. The plate dropped the first time, she cut right in the middle of it to see the finishing temperature... it was wrong. Sent it right back. The second time it hit the table, the temperature was correct. A bright red center and a seared exterior, just what she was looking for. However, it was so salty, you just could not get past all the salt, nothing to enjoy. Not edible, unless you wanted clogged arteries right then and there! My wife ordered a caprese sandwich. Yes, I also took a bite of that while waiting my for my order(lol). The baguette bread was airy, delicious, and soft. The mozzarella was fresh and the tomatoes were nice and ripe. I also tried their croissants, almond and chocolate croissant, pistachio croissant, and Nutella croissant. They were buttery, flaky, and all the fillings complimented it well. My conclusion to La Boulangerie is you have to be selective about what you order from here. Maybe they had an off day and we were the unlucky ones, but the more complicated meals turned out to taste the worst. However, you can definitely enjoy light bites here... you can't go wrong with a baguette sandwich, coffee, or a pastry. I think baking and light fare is where their true expertise lies.

Anyway my mom went up to get a to go box, and of course blonde lady once again was being rude. Then she wanted to say that we have no idea what it's like to work in that industry...how does she know? If anything this trip has reminded me once again why I hate Miami because people just seem to be overly stressed and rude!

I had their Blueberry Lavender coffee (a seasonal flavor), and I absolutely loved it! It made me want to drink more blueberry flavored coffee. But, the best part of this place is its staff and cause. The staff is super friendly and kind. Additionally, the place is neurodivergent positive, and I always love supporting a local place that supports creating safe spaces for all. I will definitely be back!!

Café Bea is a little gem we found near our home. It's very deceiving from the outside because you would never expect the incredible food they serve. The restaurant has social distancing, waitresses very attentive and following mask regulations. Customers must wear masks until at their table. Now once you've gotten past all this, you are in for quite a treat. The BEST croquettes I've ever had in my life!!!!! The salads are incredible!! Everything we ate was absolutely nothing short of gourmet meals, I highly recommended this little restaurant for brunch, even dinner. The menu choices are sure to surprise you and the food is absolutely delicious!!!! Love finding new places and more so supporting these restaurants during these difficult times. We have been here twice for breakfast. The food is high quality and you can tell it's been created by chefs. The cafe con leche is the best I've had, with a blend of milk & evaporated milk. The cortadito is same but with added condensed milk, perfect blend of sweetness. The Croquetas Madame and the Huevos Rotos delicious. My husband ordered scrambled eggs with ham, the ham croquettes are small but so flavorful. They do not offer bacon, but their Serrano ham is top notch. The French toast with homemade syrup was so good. The decor is so nice, you forget that is in a strip mall. We will be going for lunch because I am certain that anything you eat here is perfection. Excellent place for breakfast and brunch. I went on a Sunday morning and it was packed! That's exactly how you know if a place was good. I had their Huevos Rotos and french toast. It was great, the meat was juicy and fresh and very big portions. I ordered the Croque madam and I can't recommend them enough, it's super crunchy, the after taste was amazing. This place was family-friendly, pretty easy to find parking and everything tasted amazing when I went. The pricing was fair too. Dining here is greatly recommended. read more

The food is exquisite, i loved it however i was waiting for exactly 55 minutes for my food ... which should have been made in 15 minutes, they had a huge catering order so im guessing thats why they took long. The service was impeccable!! Usually get my regular waitresses, but there was a new one. She made me feel good while ordering made it feel like she was talking to us all!! Very kind! She was always ontop of all of our needs and made sure everything was perfect! As usual we ordered 1 French toast, 1 order of French fries, 2 zucchini soups, an orange juice and a coke. I went inside with the idea of obtaining a delicious meal to help celebrate my mom's 86 birthday and it went fine with the ordering, I even included an extra 7% tip over the automatic 15% that they charge! All be the young lady talking the order seem sweet and caring. So I pay go outside to sit with my mom and time started to pass, and pass, and pass Finally we see the waitress coming with the sandwich and salmon platter and 1 set of silverware? No extra plate like I asked for so we can share, no set of utensils and no drinks. My mom was starving so she went after the sandwich while I waited. And waited and waited and waited and waited. You get the point. So I got up went inside asked for her diet coke because I was afraid she would choke, I was handed the drink and asked for more silverware, and waited and waited eventually I'm handed the silverware and an extra plate. No mention of my tea or empanada. So I go outside give my mom her drink and waited for my buba tea. And waited and waited.... Finally I had enough went back inside asked for a container to take th salmon home at that point she hands me the tea with the wrong lid. Is BUBA with the little tapioca balls it needs a bigger straw and a lid to be able to slide the straw. As I'm walking out the door I told her to save me the empanada for my next visit . She said that she would get it immediately with a deer on the headlights look. She brings out the microwaved empa as Im sliding the salmon home to the container. Walked out with my mom and her world famous cane, and proceeded dump the tea at the nearest trash can since I didn't want to risk a major spill in my car because of the wrong lid. And here we are. I don't recommend the place until they train their staff better. Food can be amazing but the staff makes or breaks the experience. Review edit: After receiving a message from the management on my review above I now fully understand the issues they were having. I hope that the young lady that took care of us has an opportunity for more training and she will shine in the months to come as an important part of the restaurants staff. Thank you to the management for appreciating my detailed experience and their desire to make it better. Will give them another opportunity to serve me their delicious food.

It was good, but nothing out of this world compared to everything else we tried. For drinks, I had their cold brew made with 100% Colombian coffee. It was incredibly refreshing, and adding two pumps of pistachio syrup took it to another level. My boyfriend ordered the caramel frappe and really enjoyed it as well. One thing I loved was the atmosphere. The decor has a very Colombian feel, which gives the space a lot of character. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot to study, work, or just hang out for a while. Overall, great food, great coffee, and a welcoming environment. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
