Got our croissants and coffee to go. Came yesterday and only got the pastries and they were perfection. Same with the pastries today, the coffee? Not so much. The cortadito was not good. When I first walked into this French inspired bakery cafe, my party of 8 was greeted and seated promptly. We also were given menus and water swiftly. It took a bit for our waiter to stroll back around to take our order, and for a Sunday morning brunch, I wouldn't have considered this place a "packed" house. When the time came around, I was first to place my order, I wanted something different so I ordered Shakshuka. Of course; I did my quick research of the dish before getting to the restaurant! Shakshuka is suppose to be a one-skillet egg dish, the eggs are basted in this rich, thick red pepper, tomato, onions, and garlic sauce, topped with satueed peppers. I also ordered a French toast and chai latte! Fast forward to when everyone dishes were dropped off, even though I was first to order my dish did not arrive. I waited around for 10-15 minutes, my whole family was pretty much done with their meals. I had to call over our waitress to advise my order was never dropped at the table. After letting her know, my dish was expedited to the table in less than 5 minutes. Could they have been a rush to send out the dish? Possibly. Because that was the worst dish ever and nothing like described. The peppers were not sautéed (or little to nothing) and were just sliced, plated for decor. The tomato/red pepper based sauce seemed like it was just canned tomato sauce, very liquid-y. Simply was not fond of this dish. The french toast were more like hard french toast sticks, I would've liked it to be on the fluffier end, but they were hard/toasted. Nothing that blew my mind. As far as my chai latte, it was divine! The perfect warm hug. The chai to steamed milk ratio was on point, and topped cinnamon. My mom ordered their $42 Entrecöte Frites; man, did that sound delicious. As a true steak connoisseur, she loves a bleeding rare steak! So that was the temperature she ordered, rare. I was excited to snag a bite or two from her plate to be the judge it for myself. The plate dropped the first time, she cut right in the middle of it to see the finishing temperature... it was wrong. Sent it right back. The second time it hit the table, the temperature was correct. A bright red center and a seared exterior, just what she was looking for. However, it was so salty, you just could not get past all the salt, nothing to enjoy. Not edible, unless you wanted clogged arteries right then and there! My wife ordered a caprese sandwich. Yes, I also took a bite of that while waiting my for my order(lol). The baguette bread was airy, delicious, and soft. The mozzarella was fresh and the tomatoes were nice and ripe. I also tried their croissants, almond and chocolate croissant, pistachio croissant, and Nutella croissant. They were buttery, flaky, and all the fillings complimented it well. My conclusion to La Boulangerie is you have to be selective about what you order from here. Maybe they had an off day and we were the unlucky ones, but the more complicated meals turned out to taste the worst. However, you can definitely enjoy light bites here... you can't go wrong with a baguette sandwich, coffee, or a pastry. I think baking and light fare is where their true expertise lies. read more

Hard Pass This is what you get when you don't read the Yelp reviews before you eat somewhere. Guess I deserved it. Stopped in looking for some coffee and a late lunch while I waited for my dog to be groomed in the same shopping center. Sat down in the relatively uncomfortable chairs, and waited quite a while for anybody to even acknowledge my presence. When they finally came over it still took too much time to get my order placed. It was the first day of Miami Spice and although it was advertised in the restaurant, they failed to bring me a menu showing it and I asked about it. The waitress looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. I ordered Shakshuka and upgrade it to include juice and coffee with refills. The juice came out immediately the coffee, a bit slower, followed by the Shukshuka. This turned out to be too overcooked eggs in a pile of tomato sauce and onions and peppers with no seasoning and anything, but what I was expecting. It was in a word, awful. I might have complained if they had ever come by again. My coffee was never refilled, even though I asked not only my waitress, but pretty much every other server there are several times When I asked for the check, it still took a half an hour to even get to pay them. So if you want bland and tasteless food at relatively high prices with no service sitting at uncomfortable chairs in an almost empty restaurant, this is your place. I ended up going here again today bc the place I had planned on going was packed. I had an okay experience. The server was friendly, though I was there several minutes before being greeted. She seemed confused when she first saw me, like she wasn't sure when I got there or if I was her table. Anyway, I ordered a cappuccino which was good/ as expected. I also ordered the Iberian Croissant. Tbh, it was good, but only bc with that combination of flavors you can't go wrong. Our first time here, we are local to the neighborhood and wanted to come in for a quick breakfast. We had been seated and ordered 2 empanadas and coffee. The manager came over and asked us if we had ordered, we said yes. Came back 2 minutes later and asked us to move in order to accommodate another party of 10 as he proceeded to move tables around and asking those that were almost done if they were done, as trying to rush them out. Reading other review now, I se that this is a common occurrence here ... they rush you out, move people after they are seated and have ordered in order to move tables around. We got seated and serviced quickly as it was not busy at all. The menu has a lot of variety. Selection of egg dishes, sandwiches, avocado toasts, croissants, pastas, soups, desserts, baked goods (including some latin styles like empanadas, tequeños, pan de bono) and a kids' menu. Drinks wise they have coffee, sodas, tea, orange juice, apple juice, lemonades and "refreshers" that can be made with water or have a coconut milk base. They also have wines, beer and cocktails. Here is what we ordered ... The CROQUE MADAME- served on a baguette, different than the original. The tuna sandwich- lacked flavor. The turkey sandwich- very cold, I would have preferred it toasty. Instant cravings. The croissants are massive and absolutely irresistible.!! If you're into chocolate, the Nutchino is a must. The menu has a solid variety, and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The freshly squeezed orange juice was a nice surprise, and the refresher drink hit the spot. I stopped in to this location for the first time. I am a Boulangerie fan and have been to their North Miami Beach, the old Coral Gables location and the Pinecrest locations and have always enjoyed the food. This location is in town and country and is a large location. The decor is similar to the other locations, I love the tables branded with the emblems. I was seated pretty promptly. I ordered my usual which I didn't see on the menu which is the half sandwich and soup with a San Benedetto peach tea which reminds me of when I lived in Rome. My sandwich of choice today was tuna- it's usually tuna but I have had a few other sandwiches and they were good. Today's soup was vegetable soup which I absolutely love. It took a while for the waitress to come back and give me my bill. I ordered some desserts to go and she charged me for everything. Usually when you order to go, they bring it to the table, so I sat and waited. After 10 minutes I got up and found her and the desserts were on the to go counter, but I was never made aware of that. Luckily I didn't have much going on that day and I was reading my book so it wasn't a big deal, but the service was slow towards the end. Tried this place out for the first time. Uhh! I won't be back. The silverware that comes in a paper bag knife was dirty. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Some other staff brought out and served us somebody else's food. We notified the waitress and she took the dish off our table and brought it to another customers table. My traditional Eggs Benedict eggs overcooked, not runny, Canadian bacon was a miserably small slice of ham. Super excited to see this La Boulangerie open at Kendall Palms. My favorite pan de bono in town! And yes, their huge croissants are stuffed with a bunch of options like Nutella, almond or pistachio. As a creature of habit, I always order the beet carpaccio. I've never had such a delicious, creative and beautifully presented salad. The beets are thinly sliced as a carpaccio, they add mixed salad greens with goat cheese, almonds, then it's folded over almost like an omelette. Delish! My husband loves the breakfast platters bc they bring you a complimentary coffee or oj. As far as the La Boulangerie locations, this one seems to be the biggest with super high ceilings making it a light and welcoming location. Half way through eating the sandwich I chewed on what tasted like plastic. Sure enough, I spit it out and a piece of plastic was inside the meat. This is typically the kind of plastic that is placed between each slice. I no longer wanted to continue eating. The service was good but I was thrown off by the plastic. Everything that could be wrong in a restaurant was wrong here. We went in for brunch today on Monday Memorial Day. We walked in and there was no host to greet us so we sat down at an open table close to the entrance. After sitting for 5 min and no one coming around we asked a lady who was cleaning the table next to us if we had to order at the counter or would there be a server coming around. She told us someone would come around and handed us menus. After waiting for another 10 min (now 15min later) we flagged down a tall man in a black shirt who seamed to be a manager. We told him we had been sitting down for 10 min and no-one had come around, he apologized and said he would send someone over right away. Another gentle man named Miguel comes to us and says he will get someone. He had to flag 1 of the only 2 waitresses taking orders in the whole restaurant. 5 min later we finally get someone to take our order (it's now been 20min). I explain to the waitress that I'm plant-based and there's nothing on the menu I can order if they would be able to accommodate me with making a veggie sandwich. She says yes of course and asks me if all veggies are ok with me to which I said yes. She comes back to let us know the fruit and granola parfait was sold out if we want to order something else, my daughter then orders the egg croissant. My family got their food and a few min later I get mine. It was a baguette with some sad looking lettuce and 2 thin slices of tomato on each half THATS IT! I mention to the waitress "this is the veggie sandwich" she said yes why did you want something else on it. To which I replied "you asked me if all veggies were ok with me which implies there's more than just lettuces and tomatoes" she took the plate back and a min later came back with the same plate to which they had thrown some cold mushrooms and onion in it. I flagged one of the guys down Miguel and explained the situation. He said he was sorry and asked how would I liked the sandwich to be made. By this time my family had finished their meals and I no longer wanted to eat there. I was upset and frustrated because it's not hard to make the most minimal effort to make a veggie sandwich to which you are charging me $18 for bread, lettuce, and tomato. I was insulted! Miguel goes on to tell me he would be giving us a 20% discount for the inconvenience. Once we pay ($70 with the "discount" walking to the car I look at the receipt and noticed they never removed the parfait they were sold out of. I go back in and they make the refund for the parfait. It's safe to say we will NEVER return and will not recommend. I visited this place on Aug 3 approximately at 230pm. The friendly young lady came and explained the menu since it was my first time. Once I placed my order and it arrived, NOT ONCE did they come back to my table to see if I needed anything (44 minute ). I told the manager and asked him for my check and not to include tips and explained no service at all, didn't apologize at all and didn't care one bit. They were more worried about sweeping the floor and cleaning. Saw, a man have to get up to get his napkin and another one to go pay, they probably had the same experience. We used an online promo and they forgot to pack the lentil soup and the rice noodles. I guess that's how the manager in this location sees the business as not losing out on money, they see a promo being used they don't pack the food to save themselves the money and trouble of prepping. What a sham. I should've read the other comments about this locations management and service in advance. Should you visit these locations going forward, CHECK YOUR BAG FOR ALL YOUR ORDER. I shouldn't have to when that is literally your job, and that's why we're entrusting an establishment to do their job correctly especially on a $91 order. Thank goodness the promo dropped it to half which I'll be disputing because I will not be paying for food I didn't receive. The food wasn't even at the quality it is in the other locations, and the chips and dip portion they literally threw two tiny breads in a big box with half of a mini crossaint for an order of 2????
