Dropped in on a Sunday morning and the place was busy and with just one barista I know she was doing the very best she could! Few high tops inside and 2 tables outside. The iced coffee drinks were wayyy too sweet and not mixed at all so the bottom felt like slurping condensed milk and granulated sugar. We tried the tres leches latte, coquito latte, honey almond latte and the cafe con leche. The sweetness was far too much to distinguish any other flavor in the first 2, but the hot honey almond latte was delicious! We took a slice of tres leches to go which was just ok. Stop in on a Sunday evening right before closing and they were kind enough to take our order and have us sit. My partner and I ordered the sofrito burger and pernil, with plantains and brussell sprouts as our sides. The "sides" were huge portions! The pernil was cooked very well, super tender, juicy, with a nice crisp skin. The sofrito burger and brussell sprouts had so much flavor coming through. Cafe Con Leche is a great addition to Rhinebeck and we would definite come in when we're back in town! read more

Tried to go here for a mid-week dinner. The space is super small and I think it's more of a cafe than restaurant. Lunch fair than dinner. No one was there at 6pm. One person cleaning the floors but no other staff we could see in the kitchen/back. We called ahead and checked the website for lay out and seating space but I think they must showcase the Wappingers space- Rhinebeck location is very narrow and looks like walk up services. Not bad but we were looking for a sit down dinner not sitting at a counter. Maybe try for a light lunch soon. Oh- they said on the phone open until 9 but here closing is different. read more

We saw the food as we were walking by, and they looked so appealing. We went in and ordered our food. There were four of us. There wasn't a table indoors for us so we joined 2 tables and sat outdoors. We were told that we couldn't do that. That message could have been delivered with a bit more politeness, but it wasn't. Very clean cozy spot. Not much seating but comfort tall stools. Puerto Rican style foods. Very helpful staff husband and wife team. A variety of items are available on their paperless menu. (Download QR) They offer many dishes and assorted homemade desserts as well as coffee and alcoholic beverages. I had a gluten free roasted pork sandwich with yellow arroz and gandules. The pork was perfect soft juicy and tender. It was served with red onion ,tomato, lettuce and their special mayonnaise sauce. The yellow rice was small grained and dry not sticky .. it included green olives, tiny chunks of meat and gandules. Very tasty. Served in a little covered pot. Gluten free meant it was served on pressed flat, lengthwise, green plantains. Very tasty.. great option. Their food is not spicy. You can ask for hot sauce and pickles. Which I did. I had water and it was clean and fresh. Portions are good and filling . The service was very good. read more

I wish I'd gotten a picture before I devoured my meal! I dare say this is the best sandwich I've ever had! I ordered the Tripleta and fries, and whatever they use in their secret sauce- they should bottle and sell it because I'd of left with several bottles. Cannot recommend this gem enough! read more

Placed an order online for the Rhinebeck restaurant, they called a few minutes later (after I had paid) and said that the item I ordered was unavailable so I ordered a less expensive version. When I asked about having the difference refunded the employee hesitated and then said I would have to email the restaurant to request this. I asked for a receipt but again the employee hesitated and said they would have to see how to do this. Not sure I'll be ordering from here again. read more

Tripleta Sandwich and sweet and spicy chicken sandwich were both very good. The Tripleta was a foot long And could've easily fed two people. Side dishes were also huge. They don't have a lot of seating. It is a small place. But they do have cocktails. Check out their menu. If you like that kind of food, I would recommend you go. read more

Absolutely delish! The pernil melts in your mouth. We shared an entree with 2 sides and had more than enough for lunch.

We love this local place. It's really more of take out as only a couple tables, but the food tastes incredible and the portions are great. Wow! Finally a restaurant with delicious good quality food and generous portions. Everything is flavorful and not greasy. I love their pernil, guava cheese pastries and maduros. I can't wait to try their mofongo and other amazing dishes on their great menu. My only complaint is that they close at 6pm. This is next level food.... If you're close to Rhinebeck NY, stop here and eat!!! It's a small cafe inside with great big flavor!!!! The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was excellent!!! I can't wait to visit their restaurant in Wappingers!!! If it's half as good as this location, we have a new favorite spot to eat!!! The drinks were also next level spot on!!! I've eaten at Cafe con Leche a few times now, ordering more and more each time because I want to try everything. The food here is truly amazing. The first time I ate here I went with the safe bet, a Cubano. I feel a Cuban sandwich is something that will still be edible if made poorly, so if it was a bad Cubano I'd still be fed. Not only was it not bad, it was delicious. I mean really, really delicious. Great bread, great meat, perfectly pressed. While I could rave on and on over this sandwich, it might actually be the sides that won me over fully. I had to get tostones, and they did not disappoint, both in flavor and in quantity they were outstanding. The sauces are perfect. Arroz y Habichuelas and the Yuca fries are also standouts that everyone in the family devoured. I can't say enough about this small spot, a very welcome addition to Rhinebeck and a much-needed casual-but-delicious option. read more
