I've dined here before and even left a praiseworthy review on yelp a few years ago. Our breakfast experience yesterday was, sadly, quite the opposite. The greeter was charming and courteous but the tone changed as soon as we got upstairs to our table. The food preparers and the female waitstaff were engaged in loud boisterous talk bordering on flirtation. We felt more like intruders than guests. The food was adequate but not worth the cost. Bacon was rubbery and eggs were tasteless. Toast was barely warm. We will choose the Marriott across the street for future DC stays despite the comparative old world architectural distinction of the Willard. Too bad. read more

The waiters are attentive and happy to make recommendations and the drinks are amazing. The food is pretty good as well although I was expecting the onion soup to be denser in caramelized onion flavors. We went to this restaurant in Washington, and it was such a great experience. They started by serving us some delicious warm bread with butter it was amazing! Then they brought out our appetizers and main dishes. The soup was excellent I think it was onion soup, and it tasted wonderful. The atmosphere was also very nice cozy, elegant, and welcoming. Saw this place while ona big bus tour and made sure to come back to visit The staff was exceptional! As soon as I walked in, with my elderly mother, we were greeted and was able to take my mother and I to the upper level, which was really neat. They had an elevator to take handicapped or mobility challenged folks to the top floor. Bathroom on the top floor is nice for those without mobility issues. For those with mobility issues, recommend hitting the restroom on the bottom floor before going upstairs for Ease of access. The staff is quite friendly. The food was quite nice and the non alcoholic drinks were really refreshing. Cucumber. Yum. Above everything, the staff is what sold me to come back again. Quiet with soothing environment. I came here with my son and his roommate after walking DC to view the sights in Dec when it's cold. I figured we could stop in to warm up with a hot beverage and that's what we did. The kids had hot chocolate and I had a latte. There was a bit of a wait with other customers having the same thought it seemed. All of the tables and seating were filled to where it was a challenge to find a seat but we eventually did. Breakfast review Been here for business breakfasts and it is alright. Food comes out fast and it is a nice vibe inside. I wouldn't say that the food is incredible or that they have anything special on the menu, but it works! I've had the Avocado toast which I thought tasted like spreadable avocado that you get from a package, but the eggs were really good. I also had the Nourish Bowl which has Faro, Baby Arugula, Avocado, Radish Blueberries Smoked Salmon, Boiled Egg Lemon Vinaigrette. It was all those thing separately on a plate and fine. Café du Parc is a French Bistro/Brasserie located in a semi-detached building at The Willard International Hotel in Washington, DC. It's a handy place to eat if you are staying at the hotel, and you might want to give it a try even if you are not. There's a small grab and go area downstairs where you can get a coffee, sandwich, or pastry. The offerings here are very nice, and compare with high end coffee shops in the area. There's a small dining area downstairs as well, and out front there's outdoor seating that would be nice in suitable weather. Unfortunately, it wasn't available when I visited. Then there's the larger dining areas upstairs which seat more people than one would think. The menu is limited, but adequate. One can find some good choices. It should be noted that the menu and pricing are the same as the Round Robin Bar in The Willard, so you can eat at either place. If you are an International Ambassador, you might get a free breakfast amenity. It's worth taking advantage of that if you do. The breakfast/brunch offerings were great, and included enough variety for a few days. The quality was great and the service fast and attentive. I think it's been close to a decade since I've been to Cafe du Parc, but on a recent walk downtown I re-discovered it! Tucked away in the historic Willard Hotel, the cafe is a cute little nook that's great for a quick meeting or go grab a beverage to go. They have so many beautiful French baked goods, but on this visit I stayed away from those and just opted for an iced latte. The barista made it with love and I was on my way. Even though the space is rather small, there is a decent amount of seating and I've yet to see it packed (although I'm sure that is only because I've dropped by during off peak times.) Came to cafe du parc and it was overall a good experience. It's a very cute upscale French bistro vibes where you're able to get your bang for your buck. My recommendation is to get the garlic butter mussels. They are so buttery and the amount you get is worth the money. The bread on the side is so crispy and buttery as well. There were a few Sandy mussels at the bottom so just beware but exceeded expectations. Had the Willard burger which was not super special. It was a regular burger (needed just more sauce and wish the burger was juicer) but the fries were incredible. They were so skinny yet crispy. The chocolate cherry macaron was a great dessert to share between two people. The amaretto ice cream packs a punch and there is a good balance between the cherry and chocolate (and it doesn't taste artificial at all). Our server Adilia was incredible. The restaurant has cute French bistro vibes. I really enjoyed my moules frites and thought it was a pretty large portion. My family members ordered burgers and they all enjoyed them. I was quite disappointed with our table. We had reservations for Christmas Eve dinner. We were seated in a walkway area right outside the elevators and walkway to the main seating area and kitchen. It was a terrible area for a table especially for a holiday meal. There were people constantly walking by, children dancing and playing near us and every time the elevators opened it was freezing. There are two different components of Cafe du Parc, the coffee shop and the restaurant. Cafe du Parc is inside the Willard Hotel and can be entered from the hotel or via Pennsylvania Avenue. The coffee shop is on the first floor, and offers delicious hot and cold drinks along with a beautiful selection of pastries. This time I enjoyed a cappuccino, and it was spot on. I can't speak for the pastries, but they looked good. The cafe has a cozy/might-overhear-a-state-secret vibe. If you're a visitor to D.C. and reading this, I'd say if you want to sit down and enjoy a coffee in a place with a comfortable atmosphere and handy location, give it a go. Just be aware that it's a bit pricier than what you'd pay at Tatte, and there are fewer choices. This was my second time here, and I would return. On the second floor of the space, you'll find the restaurant Cafe du Parc. I was very excited to eat here. The atmosphere was nice, in a light-filled, non-pretentious way. On the day I was there, there was construction going on and scaffolding on the front of the building that blocked the views of Pennsylvania Avenue. The restaurant was loud, and it was hard to have a conversation. Service was fast and the food came out even faster. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the food was just "meh." This was super disappointing as the prices were a bit high and I was looking to splurge on a nice lunch with a friend. The one thing I wasn't looking for was to be charged $5 (each) for "still water," which I'm not convinced wasn't from the tap. To be fair, the table adjacent to us was having burgers, fries, and other sandwiches, and it looked a lot better than my flavorless Nicoise Salad. My friend had the Spinach and Feta Phyllo Pastry, and said it was good. The hostess's face fell when I said I was not an esteemed guest of the hotel, and she brusquely whisked me off to a back corner of the upper floor with no view of the park. My first time in Washington, D.C. I had an amazing time. The cuisine around the city was amazing. I went to Cafe du Parc for lunch after touring the African American Museum. I was craving a grilled cheese and fries. My cravings were satisfied. The grilled cheese was on sourdough bread and cooked to perfection. The fries were delicious too. I got cookies to go. A Restaurant with Orange Deficiency The service was appropriately attentive. I had the duck breast, allegedly with orange sauce. The sauce had a vague soy sauce flavor with no discernible orange. The duck breast was perfectly cooked, but tough and flavorless. I choked down about half--I was hungry. My wife had steak frites. Her steak, ordered medium rare, came out almost done through. The replacement, of which I ate almost half, was properly done and had a moderately good flavor and decently tender. The chocolate orange tart had a slight, ambiguous citrus flavor. Hits and misses at Cafe du Parc for dinner last night. We started with the cheese plate - which had generous portions of each cheese, a baguette and apricots, grapes and almonds. Then we moved onto our entrees. I had the branzino which was cooked well with a super fresh and flavorful ratatouille on the side. My friends enjoyed their mussels and cauliflower steak. My husband's steak was cooked well done (when he ordered medium). We sent it back and it came back well done again! So disappointing. When we alerted the waiter he just apologized but didn't take it off our bill.... Didn't offer us a free dessert.... No manager came to speak with us. Def bad customer service! I have to give them credit where it's Du! This was no ordinary cafe and would happily Parc my butt in a seat there again. Came here on NYE for dinner and the place was bustling. They leaned into the French decor and I think it really worked without being too obnoxious. The service was a bit slow but I'd attribute that more to the holiday. We started with the beet salad and onion soup. Both were great in terms of flavor and presentation. Wish they would have warned us how hot the soup was though. For mains we had the tofu and the branzino. I was really impressed with the tofu, it was baked with a great crust and they really let it be the star of the show. Most restaurants shy away from tofu but they did it justice. It was on a bed of veggies and was really filling. The branzino was well cooked and similar well portioned. We finished off with cappuccinos which tasted great. Overall, it was a bit pricey but considering the location it makes sense.
