I recently took my my family to Bistro Du Jour for Mother's Day. She has been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and we were not disappointed. She ended up getting the steak frites and I got the burger American. Hospitality was great. We even met one of the managers of hospitality. It's connected to a hotel so they have pretty extensive hours. The one thing I would say was that the fries were decent but the burger was amazing. The restaurant was beautiful inside, very elegant. I look forward to going back.

What a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, at competitive prices, and the drinks were top notch, even the mocktails! The deviled egg with caviar was delicious and the salad with salmon I had as an entree were extremely fresh. The salmon was perfectly medium rare, and the wait staff could not have been nicer! I had asked about a bookshop (I was traveling and didn't know the surrounding area) and even though the waitress did not know, she looked it up for me! I even got my deviled egg for free since I'd been traveling all day! So sweet! If you are anywhere near the Capitol, make this a must stop! You will not regret it!!

Not far from the Union Station, the venue can really catch people's eye with its front flowery decorations. It's a big restaurant with a bar, nice and tasteful decor. Standard service, nothing special. food was decent, we liked escargot. The steak was good but a bit salty.

French bistro beautifully decorated and located at The Royal Sonesta Hotel. Populate spot for locals and guests alike. Food was great and came out quickly. Service received was perfect! Noise level here is low to moderate.

I forgot that I visited this place and to leave a review. Life sometimes interrupts your plans. This was one of the best restaurants I went to when I visited DC for work. Walked in for a late lunch and was able to get seated right away. The staff were quite friendly. Highly recommend the salmon dish. And don't let me forget about the coffee and ice cream that you can get to close out a delicious lunch. It goes very well with a tasty wine from their great selection.

Cute French dining in the Royal Sonesta hotel. The ambience is great and, more importantly, the food and drink were delicious. Stayed at the hotel and was able to try the latte, dinner and dessert before leaving the area. For dinner ordered the chicken or however you pronounce "Poulet Rôti Au Poireau" (not pictured) to take to my room. Oh my gosh was it good! The sauce and the mashed potatoes with spinach were a perfect combo. Next night went down for a pastry with pistachio cream dessert at the bar. Though this place is definitely cutesy there were a few folks watching Monday night football game at the bar, so still laid-back. And the bar staff were really personable if you choose to sit.

High quality ingredients in a beautiful space. Patient and careful service even though I was dining with a toddler. There was live music on Sunday brunch hours. My 3 year old had Mac and cheese, I had deviled eggs, pate with macaron and the lyonaisse salad with salmon which was perfectly cooked. My little one loved the Mac and cheese and salmon - even the crispy skin! Overall a great spot for brunch!

I met my friend here for brunch on a Sunday morning. It is located adjacent to the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The bright and dainty interior puts you at ease. The relaxed atmosphere and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee was just what I needed on a Sunday morning! I had the avocado toast made from a delicious croissant topped with a tasty fried egg on a bed of avocado, arugula, radish slices and pickled onion slices. It was delicious! My friend and I shared slices of sweet fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew melon, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry). Our server was attentive and topped off our coffee cups and water glasses. It was a pleasant start to our Sunday!

I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was a late lunch, so I was seated immediately. Food: I ordered the following for my lunch: Gazpacho - This was refreshing for a summer day! It was flavorful and nice. French Fries - Fries were standard, but delicious nonetheless Gnocchi - These pillowy soft and delicious. I enjoyed the cream sauce. Crème Brulee - This was pretty standard and good. Service: Service was friendly. It felt a little slow at times or I had to catch my waiter's attention to get service. However, it was never too long. TL;DR - good food w/ decent service.

Beautifully decorated, and all the staff were top notch! Everything we chose, even down to the kids pizza prepared exactly how my 8 year old requested, was delicious! It's a shame the restaurant was empty, people are really missing out!

Bistro Du Jour had excellent brunch. This was our first time eating a French breakfast cuisine and it didn't disappoint. We ordered a hot tea and icetea. Our orders were Oeufs Au Plat, Parfait De Yaourt, and Paris- Brest Au Saumon Fume. The food was soft, fresh, flavorful and very filling. My order was the Oeufs Au Plat. The grilled sourdough bread was so soft and chewy. The toasted almonds and granola were enough, moray sauce was juicy,,Sunnyside egg melted around gave a great taste matched with the sautéed mushrooms. My husband had the Paris-Brest Au Saumon Fume. He commented how incredibly soft the croissant was and everything included, Salmon too, was delicious. We shared the Parfait De Yaourt. A taste of sweet, tart, and great end to our brunch. Service was on point and friendly. A 20% gratuity is already hoing to be added to your bill. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and what I would imagine if I were in France. Thank you for your helpful service, Stella.

This place has so much potential! Maybe I went on a bad day ... when I got there the place was pretty busy . The location was great , not too loud, spacious , and beautifully decorated. The drinks were good and the bar was nice and clean. The cons of this place is that it seems there's no assigned sections or it's kind of chaotic at dinner time. People were waiting to get their checks, tables covered with used dishes ( despite the people leaving a hour prior ) . The server cleaned the table and another manager helped pick up . We saw a couple sit and then leave 20 mins later because they never got a server to assist. This place has potential to be great but there are a lot of red flags. A proposal was made that night that's just a tell sign this place is a nice location to take photos, make a memory but I wouldn't become a regular . The bartenders were great and sweet I don't know if they were overwhelmed but most definitely they need to maybe hire more people .

I then ordered a glass of the Domain du Somail Red Blend paired with the steak frites, which was the best pairing. I was stuffed but decided to get the crème brulee, which you could never go wrong with. It was the best CB I've had in a while. Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.

I walked in and was seated at the bar. Rachal, the bartender, greeted me with a glass of water and asked me if I wanted a drink while I studied the menu. The restaurant space is very charming, giving off Parisian vibes. I ordered the Artichaut à la Grecque as a starter and the Salade Lyonnaise. The artichoke dish was simply delicious... steamed perfectly and accompanied by my new favorite sauce, sauce Ravigote. The whole plate was beautiful, but the way the sauce enhanced the flavor of the artichoke, not mask it, was just perfect execution. After taking my time with the artichoke, I switched over to the Lyonnaise salad... also simply perfect! The frisée was crisp and the lardons were cooked well. I'd say the only issue was the poached egg was a tad overcooked, but ever so slightly and it didn't ruin the dish. I sat at the bar after finishing both dishes and felt so much satisfaction from the food. The bonus was the lovely conversation I had with Rachal, at least until the rush of people started showing up... when I walked into the restaurant, it was quite empty, but when I left there was a line around the corner and every table was packed. I know why... If you're in DC, you have to dine here, you will not regret it!
