I recently took my my family to Bistro Du Jour for Mother's Day. She has been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and we were not disappointed. She ended up getting the steak frites and I got the burger American. Hospitality was great. We even met one of the managers of hospitality. It's connected to a hotel so they have pretty extensive hours. The one thing I would say was that the fries were decent but the burger was amazing. The restaurant was beautiful inside, very elegant. I look forward to going back.

My friend and I came here right after some yoga in the hotel. The staff was very attentive, my food was great the salt needed eggs but everything was very fresh. The steak my friend had was a little tough for a medium well steak but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the drinks. The pink drink is the peach bellini and it was great too! Food came quickly, it was a calm environment, and I would honestly come again!

What a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, at competitive prices, and the drinks were top notch, even the mocktails! The deviled egg with caviar was delicious and the salad with salmon I had as an entree were extremely fresh. The salmon was perfectly medium rare, and the wait staff could not have been nicer! I had asked about a bookshop (I was traveling and didn't know the surrounding area) and even though the waitress did not know, she looked it up for me! I even got my deviled egg for free since I'd been traveling all day! So sweet! If you are anywhere near the Capitol, make this a must stop! You will not regret it!!

Incredible food. Sat outside for weekday lunch. Service was excellent by Briseyda! Food was incredible. French 75 cocktail was to die for. We enjoyed the PEI mussels, the Salade Verte, a salad with grapefruit, fennel, avocado and salmon, and a pistachio tart. Yum and beautiful views.

Not far from the Union Station, the venue can really catch people's eye with its front flowery decorations. It's a big restaurant with a bar, nice and tasteful decor. Standard service, nothing special. food was decent, we liked escargot. The steak was good but a bit salty.

French bistro beautifully decorated and located at The Royal Sonesta Hotel. Populate spot for locals and guests alike. Food was great and came out quickly. Service received was perfect! Noise level here is low to moderate.

I forgot that I visited this place and to leave a review. Life sometimes interrupts your plans. This was one of the best restaurants I went to when I visited DC for work. Walked in for a late lunch and was able to get seated right away. The staff were quite friendly. Highly recommend the salmon dish. And don't let me forget about the coffee and ice cream that you can get to close out a delicious lunch. It goes very well with a tasty wine from their great selection.

Cute French dining in the Royal Sonesta hotel. The ambience is great and, more importantly, the food and drink were delicious. Stayed at the hotel and was able to try the latte, dinner and dessert before leaving the area. For dinner ordered the chicken or however you pronounce "Poulet Rôti Au Poireau" (not pictured) to take to my room. Oh my gosh was it good! The sauce and the mashed potatoes with spinach were a perfect combo. Next night went down for a pastry with pistachio cream dessert at the bar. Though this place is definitely cutesy there were a few folks watching Monday night football game at the bar, so still laid-back. And the bar staff were really personable if you choose to sit.

I met my friend here for brunch on a Sunday morning. It is located adjacent to the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The bright and dainty interior puts you at ease. The relaxed atmosphere and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee was just what I needed on a Sunday morning! I had the avocado toast made from a delicious croissant topped with a tasty fried egg on a bed of avocado, arugula, radish slices and pickled onion slices. It was delicious! My friend and I shared slices of sweet fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew melon, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry). Our server was attentive and topped off our coffee cups and water glasses. It was a pleasant start to our Sunday!

I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was a late lunch, so I was seated immediately. Food: I ordered the following for my lunch: Gazpacho - This was refreshing for a summer day! It was flavorful and nice. French Fries - Fries were standard, but delicious nonetheless Gnocchi - These pillowy soft and delicious. I enjoyed the cream sauce. Crème Brulee - This was pretty standard and good. Service: Service was friendly. It felt a little slow at times or I had to catch my waiter's attention to get service. However, it was never too long. TL;DR - good food w/ decent service.

We had the most wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was great. Our waitress, I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but she mentioned she's from Ukraine. She was very sweet. Even offered some warm tea for my son who was feeling under the weather during our vacation. The food was absolutely delicious!! My French husband was in heaven. Definitely recommend it!

High quality ingredients in a beautiful space. Patient and careful service even though I was dining with a toddler. There was live music on Sunday brunch hours. My 3 year old had Mac and cheese, I had deviled eggs, pate with macaron and the lyonaisse salad with salmon which was perfectly cooked. My little one loved the Mac and cheese and salmon - even the crispy skin! Overall a great spot for brunch!

We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.

La Grande Boucherie…read more My husband, our son, and I celebrated Father's Day here with our son's godparents and their child, and this was easily one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The hostess immediately noticed that we had a stroller and escorted us to the elevator. We were honestly wondering how we were going to get up all those stairs with a stroller, so that thoughtful gesture meant a lot to us. It's the small things that set the tone for an exceptional experience. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, but what truly stood out was the experience itself. Everything was immaculate, elegant, and well maintained. This didn't feel like just another restaurant--it felt like a luxury experience from beginning to end. Our server, Amine, was nothing short of exceptional. He was knowledgeable, personable, and incredibly attentive. He knew the menu inside and out and guided us toward choices that truly enhanced our experience. He was polite, warm, funny, and had a way of making us feel like we had known him for years. By the end of the meal, he felt more like family than someone we had just met. He went far beyond our expectations and delivered hospitality at its finest. Giovanni, the sommelier, was equally impressive. He was friendly, helpful, and recommended some truly top-tier wines. I had the pleasure of trying a Bordeaux Blend, which had a beautiful balance--dry with subtle sweetness and incredibly smooth. It was an experience in itself. We ordered the Plateau du Boucher, a large-format selection of signature meats that included prime dry-aged New York strip, entrecôte, and beef tenderloin with house sauces and watercress. Everything was delicious and perfect for sharing. To end the meal, I had the crème brûlée, and it was absolutely perfect--soft, creamy, and rich with vanilla flavor without being overly sweet. It was the ideal ending to an incredible meal. I also had the pleasure of meeting one of the managers, Gabriella. She was beautiful inside and out, and I made sure to tell her how amazing the service and overall experience had been. This restaurant exceeded every expectation I had. The hospitality, attention to detail, food, wine, and atmosphere all came together to create a truly memorable Father's Day celebration. I will absolutely be back and will be telling all of my friends and family about this place.

Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.
