    Afternoon Tea Menu
    Ama A.

I really enjoy coming here. It is one of the few places that offers a casual afternoon tea, and it is not overpriced, which is rare to find in the city. You could easily spend an entire afternoon here between the extensive menu, the bookstore, and happy hour. It is a great spot to relax and take your time. Definitely worth a visit.

3.5 stars rounded up for the attached bookstore. I thought the food here was pretty good, but the service was just okay. Our server got our order wrong and then had some trouble with figuring out how to split our checks. We offered to pay together, but he just doubled down. I wish we had gotten the afternoon tea, as it looked really good, but I was happy with the hummus and fresh fruit.

I wanted to try their Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea so my friend and I came for that experience. The deal was so good too! We got a 3 tiered tray with savory sandwiches that were all quite good and a bunch of macarons and mini desserts. We shared a teapot and chose the Cherry Blossom Green Tea which was really nice. We also each got a cocktail which we both enjoyed. Service was also great. Then afterwards we checked out their bookstore which was cool. A casual cafe with indoor and outdoor seating attached to a cute bookstore. Such a fun experience!

Found this place on a whim, while looking for breakfast in Dupont! To my surprise it was a two in one spot, with a bookstore in the front & restaurant out back! Absolutely adored the setup and the fact that I could browse for books and trinkets while waiting for a table! The food was really simple & really good! We tried the burger, chicken caesar wrap & the hummus. Honestly, no complaints! Our waiter was the most welcoming person, with a great sense of humor & excellent book/show recommendations! The food is great but the experience is greater! Such a fun place to grab brunch!

Food was cool. Salmon was a little too oily. More oil than actually sauce! But it was good! The crab soup took too long , so I took it to go! Also had the mumbo sauce wings . They weren't good at all . Customer service from server was meh ! Small outdoors seating area...

One of the best places ever. You can literally walk in off the street and get the best food ever. Kramers on a warm day after walking the street of DC or after Pilates is a core memory I truly look forward to re-creating as much as possible. 10/10!!!!

It's really unfortunate not to always give a 5 for breakfast. Unless you're doing something special, it is the easiest food to make. Shame on me for not ordering my eggs over hard, because that tends to work better. So, Kramers loses points for slimy egg whites on my over easy eggs. They gain points, however, for some perfectly cooked bacon!

Solid place for food right off Dupont Circle. If you went in from the Kramer's side, you'd probably never notice it, but if you came in from the All In side, you'd see how packed this place can get. Great brunch place served like the name says, "All Day." FOOD: I love a good brunch place - defined as one that sells both breakfast and solid lunch type foods predominantly. I mean we came for dinner, but it's got great breakfast stuff along with sandwiches, salads, sides and some nice desserts. There are some great entrees too so don't get me wrong. My wife got the flatiron and eggs and loved it. I stole her breakfast potatoes though. But my lamb burger was even better. So few places sell a lamb burger and even fewer do it this good. Totally satisfied. And the bun was just right! I had to get the chocolate mousse as I'm a huge fan of the dessert and it was delicious. SERVICE: Good but not exceptional. Still definitely not bad at all. Just really busy. Food was plated nicely and the portion sizes are perfect! COST: Very reasonable for what you get. A meal will cost you about $25-$30 but you'll feel like you got good quality food that filled you up (and then some).

I was in town for a bit to explore DC. I did choose this spot based on the fact it was very close to where we were staying. I wish I would've tried it earlier in the trip! It's a very cutesy spot - it has this restaurant,a bar, and of course the bookstore! If I lived here I would imagine this would be my go to spot. I ordered the Margherita pizza and it was absolutely delicious. I crave it very often now. The service was good not necessarily spectacular but it was good enough. It definitely is more of a relaxed environment.

Went back and the food was just as good! I had the chicken Caesar wrap this time and it was delicious. My wife said the chicken pot pie may have been the best she's ever had!

Back again and this time I had the croque madame tartine - delicious! And the fennel and arugula side salad was surprisingly good. I also had no idea there was a whole back room for seating! Calmer/greenhouse vibe back there than the front diner area.

This place is really a DC gem! It's cozy, classic, and has something for everyone. The staff is really lovely and the ambiance is perfect for lunch with a friend, morning coffee, or dinner and drinks. The menu is huge and you can't go wrong with anything. The French Sodas they do are super fun. Right now they have a Pumpkin Spice soda and you can add vodka for $5, couldn't recommend it more! Also, the Chicken Caesar Wrap is one of my favs in the city. The fries are also killer! Everything here is worth it, I think it's a must stop location in DC.

I was already impressed by the weekend happy hour deals. I started with the Aromatic whites wine flight (great pours for $12!!). All 3 wines were delicious and the bartender, Fabio was the best and very engaging throughout my time at the bar. I had the beef tartare and it was the best I've ever had! I then ordered a glass of the Domain du Somail Red Blend paired with the steak frites, which was the best pairing. I was stuffed but decided to get the crème brulee, which you could never go wrong with. It was the best CB I've had in a while. I will definitely be back for restaurant week or just an impromptu happy hour.

Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.

There was no excitement, positivity or welcoming words. No one in the restaurant said happy Mother's Day or even Hello - they looked exhausted and like they were just trying to get through the evening. Perhaps they were overwhelmed and understaffed, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The good: - clean seating area - quick check-in - espresso martinis and the French 75 were good cocktails - the vegan entree was good - the mashed potatoes were good The bad: - seated for three people at a table with two of the seats not fitting, one diner had to endure the meal with half of their back against a protruding wall and on a bench seam. - appetizer tray showed up missing one of the four appetizers, when we asked about it, they commented that they were out of it. They brought us some more cheese puffs. We would not have ordered that had we known. - we had to summon the waiter to take our entrée order well after the appetizers had been completely cleared - we had to share Waters when we could not get refills after trying a couple times - atmosphere was bland, didn't seem like effort went into the decor or the experience The ugly: - their signature dish was ordered medium rare: it could not be cut with the table knife and there was no steak knife because it's supposed to be a melt in your mouth dish. It was well done and had to be returned. From our seats, we could watch them inspecting it and talking while one of them rolls their eyes. They bring out another one that was cooked to order. - when we got the bill, they charged for both steaks which was an $82 charge. - again, we have to find somebody to help us with the check. There were no apologies and no offer for compensation for the appetizer, the service, the food, the overcharging, anything. It was really sad because that was to be a very special meal for me and it would be easy to at least try to make things right. :( Please know there are other things I am not including in this review because we are a family that has all worked in the service industry. I hate giving a negative review, but no way around this one. And, yes... my son left a substantial tip. We aren't jerks. :)
