My husband and I were lucky to come upon this restaurant as we were strolling down St Germain des Pres. The service and the food was excellent. And so very reasonable. My wife and I checked in late to Madison Hotel and they recommended Café Louise for a late dinner. Food was just okay but the service and attitude of our waiter was offensive. Forgot his name but was a tall black man and he obviously does not like Americans. Basically scolded us in front of other patrons for trying to hand him my credit card so we could get back to our room after a long day of traveling. Went to Cafe Louise based on yelp reviews after we just missed last call for a Kroger restaurant. We asked for still water assuming it was tap and got charged $9.50 for a 750ml bottle of Evian, which I supposed is our fault. The Service was slightly better than the food but slow considering f there were only 2 occupied tables. I ordered the croque monsieur and received soggy cold fries/sandwich. My wife ordered the escargot and French onion soup. The Escargot came without plates and the French onion soup was very bland and under seasoned. It is should be considered a good option for food past 11:00pm due to their extended hours (we went during the earlier hours however). read more

This is an average place to eat. I would recommend if you have no other options. I got the omelette, which had no flavor to it. It did come with a side salad, which was fine. My friend got the ham and cheese sandwich and it was cold by the time she was done eating the salad that came with it. The place is nice and clean and the servers are fine. I'm laughing at the reviews for this place. First of all, you cannot escape cigarette smoke in Paris. People will sit in a restaurant patio and I swear to god, blow the smoke on purpose to the inside of the restaurant at those who are trying to get away from it. This problem is not special to this cafe, it happens at all of them. Americans, you are so naive! The food here is decent. Expensive for what it is, but that's partly down to the neighborhood. This place is less expensive and way less pretentious than others nearby. I didn't really like the es cargot and I only had it because it was recommended in a review I read elsewhere. We were happy with our meals otherwise. Good frites. Okay, now, this is where Cafe Louise really shines... The waiters are so friendly even to Americans. They speak good English and are extremely attentive and polite. I was astounded at how nice they were. Just had a terrible experience at this place. My husband and I walk over from our flat late this evening to have a coffee and hot chocolate since the evening had turned chilly. The cafe was virtually empty and we ordered. We were served a watered version of hot chocolate and coffee which was awful. I took a sip and sent the it back, my husband took a couple of sips and that was it. He went back to pay and the manager said we had to pay for the undrinkable chocolate as well, upon which an unpleasant discussion took place. We paid for the coffee and decline to pay for the chocolate. A few night earlier a group of friends had the misfortune of sitting at this same cafe for late night caps. They were overcharged by substituting more expensive brands and feigning misunderstanding due to language. This is a tourist trap but they do have a desirable spot on Saint Germain. I will continue to take my chances across the street at the Cafe de Flores and Les Deux Margots which are far more reputable establishments. , read more

Fantastic place for brunch. It is a busy place on Sunday. They offer an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet for 33 euros but also their regular menu. Brunch with my sister, she went for the brunch buffet and I ordered from the menu. The buffet is complete: pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancake, deli meats, salmon, quiches, fruits and mini desserts. All very tasty and fresh. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with salad and fries. Very tasty and the fries were the best I had in a long time. Homemade, thick, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Mini desserts from the brunch for my sister and I indulged in their Nutella crepe 3 pieces. "3 pieces" means you have 3 medium crepes, folded and topped with lots of Nutella. Pure heaven. The district is very popular and touristy, I recommend a digestive walk by the Seine or Jardin du Luxembourg to enjoy the beauty of Paris. read more

Came across this place on late mission for dinner. We were still on the California time schedule and ready to eat dinner about 1am. The place was very quiet, service very nice. The Pave de Saumon was very fresh and cooked to perfection, the salad it came with.. I pretty much fell in love with the lemony-mint vinaigrette! I also tried the Escargot, because well.. I'm in Paris! And it was pretty good! My cousin bet for sure at least one was flying across the room.. but thankfully it never happened! I think I sopped up all of the sauce from them with the delicious bread they'd give us. My cousin had the Filet of beouf, which was a pepper crust that may have been a bit overwhelming, but came with an amazing portion of fresh green beans that, ofcourse.. I finished!! I just like the real omelette here as opposed to the plastic ones across the road. Nice enough, but the lack of vibrant creative ambiance is due to the design and layout of the whole place. So I eat, and go where I feel more welcome and happy. Doesn't have a Parisienne feel to it, maybe that's due to the modernity. But I do like the food, and the wait staff are quite nice. read more

Picked this place on a whim while walking by in our way to tour montparnasse. There is a very popular cafe right across the street that is popular with bloggers but we like that the patio in this place is not elbow to elbow. We were blown away by the friendly and prompt service which we have not yet received in the 3 days in Paris. Food was also very good and my husband is very hard to please and he finished and complemented both options we got. We got into Paris mid day and the jet lag hit us pretty hard so napped until 10pm. Cafe Louise was open late with some great reviews so we decided to stop by for dinner. They spoke English here and were very kind to us! We got great service! The decor is extremely cute and cozy. Paris is super cold in Jan. 25-35 degrees! I went with the foie gras ravioli and my boyfriend the burger and fries! We had eaten too much in Paris and decided to have salads for dinner. My wife had a quinoa salad with lots of vegetables. We're staying nearby, our first night in Paris, fresh off the plane. We read about Cafe de Flore and were on our way to it, but there was a crowd there at about 7PM. So, we stopped by Cafe Louise, uncrowded, owner and waitress friendly. Checked the menu, we had a seat and excellent service started. My wife had the French onion soup - delicious, best she's had, not too cheesy, or bread-y. Good soup. I had the smoked salmon salad, fresh, excellent, and croque monsieur, also good. 2 glasses of French wine, recommended by host, very good. All in all, an great pop-in, 63 Euro. Could have stayed longer, but a beautiful Paris evening was ahead of us. Go with confidence. read more

Coming in from the U.S. and still jet lagged/off the time so we loved how late the restaurant was open. Amazing food, we lived in France and we can confirm that this food was great! They have lots of options for food and drinks and for English speakers the menu is in both English and French which is very helpful. Live music and short wait for a table and food, great service. I met a friend here who was from out of town. We both had the escargot then entrecôte and split a dessert. Escargot were more herby than garlic butter but still very good and not rubbery.
