My friend who lives in the neighborhood suggested we come here because she loves their happy hour cocktails. We started off strong with drinks, which were fabulous. Unfortunately, things went downhill fast once we ordered food. The crispy tuna arrived first and was disappointing. There wasn't much tuna, and the rice was more overcooked than crispy. Two of us received our meals promptly, but the third dish, the steak and eggs, never arrived. After waiting quite a while, we asked our server if it was on the way. She responded dismissively, saying, "Well yes, since I did put it in," before walking away. We continued waiting while staff members looked over at our table clearly discussing our issue, but avoided making eye contact or providing an update. About 10 minutes later, a manager came by and informed us there had been an issue with the order and that the dish would be out shortly. Unfortunately, it took another 20 minutes to arrive. When the steak and eggs finally came out, we were speechless. The steak was severely undercooked, practically still mooing. My friend couldn't even chew it all the way. Throughout all of this, our server never apologized, acknowledged the delay, or checked in with us. At the end of the meal, we flagged down the manager to get our check and showed her the steak. She offered us a discount, which we appreciated. However, our server still never addressed the situation. It's a shame because we had planned to stay for several drinks and spend more time there, but the service completely changed the experience. The food wasn't good enough to make up for it either. My chicken wrap was very average. Afterward, I mentioned the experience to a few NYC friends, and they all told me this isn't a place they would recommend for food. Now I understand why. If you're looking for happy hour drinks, this place may be worth a visit. Based on our experience, I would skip the food or this place overall.

Went during the week for breakfast. There was no wait and able to sit inside. The scone was huge and pretty good with the butter and jam. The eggs Benedict didnt have that much flavor. The service was ok.
Came to the coffee window they have which is nice for take away. Their seasonal matcha was a fig jam which sounded good but was just fig jam smeared on the cup, needed a fig syrup to change the flavor any. Otherwise pretty good matcha, quick and friendly service.
I really loved the Cafe Maud ambiance and food. Yes it's a pricey breakfast but not more than any other places. We ordered the breakfast burrito and breakfast plate and I think it was a great filling brunch with good quality bread, chicken sausage, and eggs.
While the wait and seating arrangement were a bit confusing, the food was solid! We stood in line and were told it would be a 45 minute wait but that they wouldn't be able to take our name down--instead, we were told to hang tight in line and they'd call us when they were ready. Shortly after, we were offered bar seats, which we gladly accepted! There was an upstairs bar with a vibe very different than the lighter, more earthy downstairs! This didn't really fit the mood of our girls brunch; HOWEVER, looking past the bad lighting and resulting poor quality pictures, it was a good staging area for a catch-up with a solid breakfast burrito and cute table pancake! The portions are generous and the potatoes are well crisped, and I really appreciated the sauce containers and attention to detail in plating.
I came here at 10 am for brunch and got seated quickly. I got the breakfast burrito which was filled with eggs, avocado, beans, pico and bacon. There was also a side salad and potatoes. This was a filling meal and would come back to try other items.
Pesto pasta and mexican bowl were delicious and also felt balanced (not too greasy and healthy). great music, decor and scene; solid service. It's the kind of neighborhood spot I hope to go back to often.
I came to Café Maud with my kids after my son's soccer game, and I'm so glad we decided to stop by. We came for breakfast, and everything we ordered was so delicious. My son went straight for the chicken lollipops and enjoyed every bite. My daughter loved the açaí bowl it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I ordered the breakfast platter, which was cooked perfectly, and my son devoured his pancakes. I treated myself to a strawberry matcha, and it was amazing. Our server, Kia, was so nice and took such good care of us. Even though we didn't have reservations, the staff still took us as walk-ins and sat us at the side bar so the kids could be comfortable. I'm really glad we arrived early because just as we sat down, the place started filling up quickly and soon there were people waiting. The space itself is beautiful the décor, the lighting, all the little details make it feel cozy and stylish at the same time. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is nicely covered now that the weather is getting colder. Overall, it was such a great experience. We'll definitely be back!
Came here on a holiday, so everywhere we went had a long wait. Cafe Maud was able to seat us right away but at the back of their restaurant which is also their bar. I didn't mind as it was a lot quieter but the tables were smaller so it was hard to fit all our food on one table. The interior/overall decor of this place is really nice. Honestly, had I looked at the menu beforehand, I probably wouldn't have come here. I ordered a breakfast platter and pizza. Both were good but I've had better. The bacon was too thick for my liking. I enjoyed the home fries the most.
The host was very helpful, friendly and prompt. Outdoor seating was busy this sunny afternoon at 4pm. But I sat at a hi-top which was great. The music was in the background and not too loud. I like that! I ordered happy hour pizza margarita ($7) and a glass of rose ($9). Great deal for the in-between hours! Pizza was good and so was the wine.
Ummmm I think the teenagers working at this place need to do a better job at cleaning the bathrooms. I saw blooody crusted boogers smeared all over the bathroom wall, unflushed toilet, and no toilet paper in my stall Other than that the outside vibe is nice
Came here for brunch. This place has an upscale ambiance and the decor is chic. The staff is friendly and attentive. I started with a strawberry matcha latte to drink. I picked lemon ricotta pancakes for my entree with a side of bacon. Strawberry Matcha Latte- Creamy drink with a strong matcha flavor. The strawberry adds sweetness and complements the base flavor well. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes- Fluffy and soft with creamy whipped cream, lemon zest that adds a wonderful citrus flavor to every bite. Finished with vermont maple syrup. Side Bacon- This has got to be one of the thickest bacons I've ever had. It was almost like pork belly but deliciously cured. It has a crisp exterior but tender inside. Tasty! Great experience overall! read more

Mediocre brunch spot in the heart of the East Village Short Rib Benedict (3.5/5): A little dry and lacked flavor. I've definitely had better benedicts elsewhere Fried Chicken Sandwich (3.25/5): Also a bit dry; the chicken could have been much juicier Latte (3.25/5): The coffee didn't have the bold flavor I was looking for, but bonus points for the nice latte art! read more

i got the breakfast burrito & lemon ricotta pancakes! the breakfast burrito is an absolute must-get -- the exterior is nice & crispy, the burrito itself is packed with flavor, and the side potatoes were the most well-seasoned potatoes i've ever had! the lemon ricotta pancakes were SO fluffy & paired well with the cream + fruit, but i couldn't really taste the lemon at all. the exterior of the cafe is a gorgeous green & it's located in the heart of the east village, so it's also a great place to people-watch while eating a hearty brunch or enjoying happy hour :) read more
I used to go to this location when it was Five Mile Stone so I was delighted to see the beautiful renovations for the new establishment. The uptown location does not take dinner reservations so we were walk-ins. The place was packed and very loud and I was directed to a table upstairs in the gorgeous Domino room. Also very loud so we opted to sit at the bar so that we could hear each other better. Wonderful food, excellent drinks and fantastic service, all in this gorgeous location. We stumbled upon this place, and went with a party of 5 without a reservation and got a seat outside in about 5 minutes flat! We had delicious brunch and coffee drinks. Our party tried a breakfast burrito, ricotta pancakes, two different bowls, and an avocado toast. We have zero complaints! Everything was good, and fresh and cooked perfectly. Our server was very nice and very attentive. The prices were reasonable as well. The bathrooms were decorated nicely and well kept, each stall with its own scented candle. read more
The breakfast burrito was SO good I ate it so fast! The potatoes were so flavorful and delicious as well. The lemon ricotta pancakes were gorgeous and soft and yummy, but I couldn't taste much lemon. Vibes are super cute, this is a great brunch spot. I couldn't find my friend at first and the waiter was super nice and took me to the back room (which was really cute by the way) and back. Didn't love my coffee here, but the breakfast burrito was great. Ordered my mocha hot and sweetened, but there was no sweetness or chocolate flavor. It was still a gorgeous cup though. The breakfast burrito had a great balance of fillings and I appreciated that the fillings were mostly chopped and mixed in so each bite had a little bit of everything! Loved the thick cut bacon in there -- each little morsel was so succulent and flavorful. Breakfast potatoes were also surprisingly good -- slightly crisp and very well seasoned. I only wish I could have subbed the potatoes for some fruit, but that wasn't even an option on the menu which was surprising for a brunch spot. read more

I was happy to be able to try this spot out for brunch. I came here on a week day on the earlier side which is the way to go if you want to get in to this place. They have the front area with a bar and tables they also have a back area which to me is a nicer section. With plush seating and an elegant looking bar area. When I walked into the area I thought I was the only one and felt bad that I chose to sit back here. But then I saw others sitting. The waitress I had was super friendly and took note of my food allergies. Which I was thankful for. For food I had avocado toast with a poached egg on top. It was tasty and I had an iced latte which was just ok. The side of scrambled eggs I got were the best tasting eggs I have ever had!! I would come back here and try out other dishes. read more
Came to Cafe Maud twice in one weekend and will definitely be coming back! The happy hour is absolutely amazing & goes from 3-6pm M-F & I highly recommend making a reservation. The service is super quick and everyone is super friendly! The frozen Aperol spritz was the best drink I've had in a minute & I personally don't love Aperol Spritz. The crushed tomato pizza with the hot honey added (served recommended) was super delicious and a phenomenal deal as it's only $7 during HH. Separately, I've been here for brunch with a big group as part of a birthday & it was just perfect. We all loved our food & drinks! oh the classic story of somehow spending a down payment at a happy hour - and no it's not because of their prices. it's because legit everything was so good and when a happy hour is only 2 hours....its important to order 2 drinks at once - the frozen Aperol had even the spritz hater chugging. there is a perfect mix of sweet and tangy in a perfect slushy consistency - the "bowl of fries" is an actual bucket with truffle aioli. the happy hour pizza, for less $ than the fries shocked us all. it was dripping with tomato juice and each bite had a blistered cherry tomato popping in your mouth. the crust was fluffy and delicious, the whole dish was light and delicious - the cafe maud drink packed a surprising punch. a smokey slightly spicy happy hour drink for those who perhaps hold a bias over drinks coming from a machine...... - we had a reservation, but a line quickly formed to get some of their gorgeous outdoor seating. there were some delays with the frozen drinks, but the waiters were all so so kind it didn't even matter. read more

Breakfast burrito hands down is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! Definitely a bustling location, so would recommend making reservations before hand if possible. I came here for brunch, but had a reservation before --and am so happy we did that! It was a line wait otherwise. The place was packed. Hot spot for brunch, with tasty food and a good menu. Their oat milk latte was also really good. They serve you quickly, and turn over the tables quickly as well. I recommend this place and would also come back. read more
Super popping brunch place! I went with a friend who had visited before and was very impressed by the breakfast burrito and so we went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I did make a reservation ahead of time and I'm glad I did because it was quite busy. They have tables and also a hightop/bar seating situation. My friend got the breakfast burrito and I got the Breakfast Bowl. The burrito was definitely the highlight. My bowl was okay, maybe a bit small on the portion size. If I were to go again, I'd definitely go straight for the burrito. Service was good. I'd recommend for a breakfast burrito lover. They opened a UES location too which I'm curious to try! read more
Great sharing spot. Best thing we ordered was the short rib fried rice. Pizza was good. Crispy rice was fine but honestly skippable for price and size. Pornstar martinis were DELISH! Busy on the weekends but fairly easy to get a table during the week. read more
Cafe Maud was so cute for the holidays! The inside is so cozy for winter and the brunch was great! I got the breakfast bowl and it was super tasty! The service was also super nice and attentive. I was a bit late and they came and took my order right away! Excited to come back. read more

Yummy drinks, cute ambiance, and great food! Went in for brunch and we were greeted with quiet greetings. We ordered the avocado toast with salad, eggs Benedict, and a mimosa. All were nice and tasty. Def recommend for a friends get together , cute vibes, and good food. read more
Really good happy hour deal. They let us order from the hh menu even though we came 2mins before it ended. The drinks were good and also got the happy hour pizza. Really reasonable price and also enjoyed the ambiance inside read more

This Bianca pizza was so so great. This was my first meal, first day ever in NY and it did not disappoint! I got to sit and people watch from the patio, lots of young people grabbing drinks and dinner with their friends. The service was excellent as well. read more
Really delicious brunch, especially the pancakes and breakfast burrito. The strawberry lemonade was so refreshing, and the matcha drink was interesting and nicely presented. Welcoming staff, quick service, really pretty interior and super comfortable booth seating. Even the bathroom is warm and inviting. Also nice they didn't rush us as we took some time to order and head out after paying. Would definitely come back! read more
