This was a quaint little Cafe with a cozy atmosphere and friendly wait staff. The menu was simple, but the breakfast was like getting it from your mom's kitchen. I ordered their simple breakfast. 1 egg, hash browns, toast, and choice of meat. I asked for sausage and unfortunately they mixed up my side and gave me bacon. One of the people in my group had multiple sausage on their plate, so I was still able to get what I wanted. The service was fast, from seating to check drop was roughly 30minutes. This Cafe is currently rated a 6.7 on my Beli and I recommend it if you are looking for a fast home cooked breakfast.

Café 106 is an absolute gem. It exudes home cooked vibes. Even on the 4th of July, parking was no problem as there's a lot out back plus plenty of street parking. We brought our dog and were thrilled to find their outdoor seating is pup-friendly. The staff was so friendly and service was fast. Like, impressively fast. Now let's talk food: the coffee was great, and the orange juice was super fresh. I had Janet's Stuffed Hashbrowns loaded with sour cream and cheese, served with rye toast and the most delightful strawberry jam. The scrambled eggs? Cooked perfectly fluffy. I also tried the cinnamon roll pancake which are incredible. The cream cheese frosting was to die for, and the crispy, sugary outer layer gave them the best texture. Affordable prices, dog-friendly patio, delicious food, and speedy, kind service--this place easily earns a rare 5/5 from me. I'll definitely be dreaming about coming back!

I ordered the Chorizo taco salad and it was truly one of the best salads I have ever had. Great food and amazing service. Highly recommend this place.

A cozy space with lots of Americana on the walls. Was full when we got there late on a Sunday morning, but we had to wait all of two minutes for a table. Server showed up quickly once we were seated to take our order. After taking it to the kitchen she returned with a coffeepot to keep on our table so we could tend to our refills. With us as customers, that saved her a lot of running. And coffee was good, a bit above average for diner brew. My wife got a basic egg-potato-toast breakfast, which she was happy with, especially since the hash browns came extra crispy as ordered. I opted for "Brad's Skillet", a bowl of hashbrowns mixed with ham, bacon, sausage and cheese w/ two eggs on top. While waiting for it I wondered if it had been such a good idea to order what amounts to a fat bowl, but when it arrived I saw it was actually kind of light on the meats, which made me feel both relieved and disappointed. It was satisfying and didn't need any more animal product in it. Both our breakfasts came with strawberry jam that tasted homemade. I didn't see a notice on the menu that it was, but it tasted for all the world like the kind my mother used to make. With some offbeat (some might say hipster) menu items, Cafe 106 can satisfy a taste for something novel or for some of the old diner standbys.

Baja Chicken omelette with a biscuit

Breakfast was really good! Wonderful service! We sat outside because we had a dog with us. The wait staff was great either her. I had the Baja Chicken omelette. It came with hash browns and toast, but they willingly substitute a biscuit. All of our food was really hot. The biscuit had been cut in half and grilled and served with strawberry jam. The omelette was filled with chicken, onions, peppers and topped with cheese and avocado. Other orders at the table included Brad's Skillet and an omelette with lots of chorizo in it. Our pup got 2 scrambled eggs and was very pleased.

While it's further out from the downtown, it's worth the drive (and you need to get groceries at Meijer anyway right?) You order at the counter and can sit inside (very cold AC) or on the outdoor patio and they use a buzzer system for you to come up and get your food. You self bus your dishes at the end. The fish portions are generous (honestly better value than the other fish fry place in town) and the coleslaw and fries are great. You can get the fish grilled as well which you just have to ask for. The kids meals have a rib meal option which is amazing so we sampled our kids' ribs and loved them. Very casual, you can grocery shop for jerky and cheese and more while waiting - and they have high chairs and clean restrooms.

The ice cream is that good, and the history and story behind the building make this place such a fun stop. It's easily become one of our all-time favorite ice cream shops! I got the Eskimo Kisses and my husband got the Peanut Butter Bull's-Eye, and both were absolutely incredible. The ice cream here is seriously 100 out of 10. I got mine in a waffle cone, and that was probably the only slightly disappointing part. The cones are pretty small, and honestly, it wasn't my favorite waffle cone compared to some others I've had. But the ICE CREAM makes up for it and then some! There is pretty much always a line here, no matter what time of day you go, but they are incredibly efficient. They move people through quickly, so even when the line looks long, you aren't standing around forever. The inside is so cute and quaint, almost like stepping into an old-fashioned diner or soda fountain. It's bright, fun, clean, and has so much character. I'm still kicking myself that I've never actually stopped here for breakfast or lunch because I've heard their food is worth trying too. One of these days! We ordered from the ice cream side, where they have all of the cones and ice cream treats listed. I didn't see milkshakes and some of the other things you might expect at an old-fashioned ice cream shop on that side, although I'm pretty sure you can get more options if you sit down and order from the restaurant side. If you're in Ludington, you absolutely have to stop at House of Flavors. The ice cream is fantastic, the atmosphere is so much fun, and the history makes it even more special. We came back a year later for a reason, and we'll definitely be back again!

This place has started as an ice-cream shop. The interior feels dated, but also warm, welcoming, and homey. It has the charm of a place that has been serving the same homemade recipes for generations, and it truly feels like both the restaurant and the recipes have remained true to their roots since opening day. We were seated quickly, and our waitress, Sydney, greeted us promptly. She was friendly and took the time to tell us about the daily specials and homemade soups. Two of our children ordered the kids' spaghetti, while our other child had the chicken strips and fries. I ordered the Monterey Chicken Sandwich based on Sydney's recommendation, and my husband chose the meatloaf sandwich with a cup of chicken noodle soup. Everything we ordered was good. The kids all enjoyed their meals, and I absolutely loved my sandwich. My husband enjoyed the meatloaf as well, although he mentioned he would probably try something different if we return on a future visit. The homemade pies looked incredible, but we already had dessert plans elsewhere, so we'll have to save those for another time. Overall, while the restaurant's interior may feel a bit dated, the homemade food, reasonable prices, and friendly service made for a very enjoyable meal. If you're looking for a comforting, home-cooked meal while visiting Ludington, Old Hamlin Restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
