She said it was one of the best breakfast places she ever found so I was all about giving it a go myself. I had the huevos rancheros with cup of coffee. For a side I got fried potatoes. Nice place in downtown Sylva. Street parking right in front and available sat immediately upon arrival. Didn't have to wait long for food to come either. I enjoyed my meal and my wife got a biscuit and gravy and shared it with me and it was awesome as well. Lucy's is my new breakfast spot when visiting WCU.

They also offer pet-friendly outdoor seating, which is a great option if you're dining with your furry friend. Our waitress, Mackenzie, was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out quickly. The service was excellent from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Grit Bowl Special, Chicken & Waffles, Brioche French Toast, and fresh fruit. The chicken tasted just like my grandma's recipe. It was crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their spicy hot honey. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The coffee bar was another highlight! They offer so many specialty drink options, including hot chocolate topped with homemade whipped cream. And don't skip the fresh-squeezed orange juice, it was some of the best we've ever had! What really made this place stand out for our family was how kid-friendly it is. The kids got to draw pictures while we ate, and afterward they were able to hang their artwork in the hallway for everyone to see. They absolutely loved it! There's also a large lounge area in the back with cozy seating and games like Shut the Box and chess, making it a great place to relax while waiting for a table or after your meal. If you're looking for a delicious breakfast, outstanding service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, Lucy in the Rye is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it!

Highlights from my experiences here include: * The girl working the register taking my order stopping me midway through to whine at some supervisor nearby that she wanted a break (he informed her she'd only been there 30 minutes and didn't say anything about her blatantly ignoring a customer). * An employee approaching our table and asking my friend, who had just picked up his food, if he would jump start her friend's car. * Consistent 10-20 minute wait times for food (during dinner though, breakfast has never had this problem for me). * A really mean looking supervisor coming out of the back to screech at the employees in front of everyone about something petty like not closing the napkin box in the stockroom after grabbing some to restock with. Breakfast is never an issue though, the staff working in the mornings really seem to get the job done. Dinner time though....it's just a crap shoot all around.

That never happened, we had to go up there, with the receipt, to even get it. The biscuits were stale, sausage was over cooked, and the hash browns were under cooked.
