Bagels on Main Street. My idea of a perfect pairing. This is my second visit, and it was again perfectly pleasing. The bagels have a wonderfully chewy crust, but aren't so dense that I felt overwhelmed by bread. While they don't have my favs in stock yet (pumpernickel, marble and poppy), Brooke (the owner) assures me they're working on a supplier with a wider selection. I'll be satisfied with sesame for now. My fav bagel is lox with chive cream cheese, red onion and capers. Traditionally capers, lettuce, tomato and dill pickle are on this platter. While it wasn't on the menu description, they were happy to accommodate my request and added these items. This was the perfect post workout lunch. A pumpkin spice coffee finished off my meal. During each visit someone visited my table to inquire if everything was satisfactory. With pleasant employees, cheerful decor and satisfying food, this is a lovely stop for sustenance before, during or after shopping. read more

Ive been coming here for some years every single Sunday, and sometimes during the week. But, I'm afraid they are falling behind. The bagels have gotten dry over the last several weeks as they seem to be conserving on cream cheese. Today's bagel was stale. I am considering finding a new "usual place" but hope they quickly bring the business back to its original goodness soon. read more

How disappointing. We stopped in at noon on a Thursday and ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese. No one in there besides 2 customers sitting at tables drinking coffee. Between waiting for the gal to tidy up the counter, the warming (not toasted) of the bagels and smearing of cream cheese it took 15-18 minutes! Holy cow, I hate to see the wait when it's busy. The bagels were decent and they have a good selection of cream cheeses. Ambiance was ok. Judging from other reviews about how slow the service is maybe they can warn you ahead of time. "It takes 10 mins to warm up the bagels..." Try them out, maybe they will get faster.... read more

The bagels were good. The service was horrible. Friendly and all but my god it took so long - like 15 minutes, to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Needs VERY much attention or the business will go under. read more

After a visit to NYC in February I had to try out this bagel shop. It was pretty good, but definitely not a NYC bagel. I appreciated the amount of cream cheese on my bagel. I had the lemon blueberry on the honey pecan bagel. The cream cheese was quite tasty. read more

Sorry folks, no can do. I tried to reach out to them via email for assistance or correction to no avail prior to this review. Very disappointing. Usually I'll get colorful with details but, with such little effort put forth by this shop, I'm compelled to match the lack of care.  A- they don't bake anything there- which is to say they buy their product frozen. Thats right, a bagel place that doesn't bake their own bagels and has frozen product shipped in. Zero fresh baked anything here. B- the bagels themselves are not bagels at all- they're variations of white bread buns with a hole. The least bagel-like bagel I've had. Lender's at the grocery store is better, and that's not good.  C- the spreads are so incredibly overpriced, I just feel duped and suckered. They couldn't even be bothered to completely fill the 4oz containers we bought... at $6 each ($18 for 3 small salad dressing containers not filled). One of the flavors was literally Lipton soup mix tossed in with a block of Philadelphia. Not acceptable.  $27 for 6 bagels and 3 half filled 4-oz spreads. I feel lucky that I wasn't stupid enough to get the 6-oz $9-each containers, and only paid  $18 for 12-oz (that's $24/pound cream cheese).  We're local Haywood people, and saddened with this Waynesville business. Who can afford this and why?  If the product just had a whimper of effort we'd be less disappointed- but alas, it's just a very lazy excuse to pinch the tourist economy a little bit more. Who cares about the local year round population that keep Main Street up and running in the off-seasons? Very frustrating to pay exorbitant prices for such low quality product and effort. read more

Amazing! Born and raised in NYC and I'm obsessed with their lox bagels. SO GOOD! I make sure I get one every time I visit that area!

Okay guys, New Jersey native here, I have DEFINITELY eaten more than my fair share of bagels in my life. When I got a bagel with scallion & chive cream cheese from this shop, I could close my eyes and feel like I was back up north, it was that good! Thick with just the right level of chewiness and plenty of flavor- I was in heaven! I came for breakfast and had to come back around lunch to take some home too! The staff was incredibly friendly (one nice difference from NY, I'll admit lol) and mentioned that this business was owned by a woman in memory of her mother and grandmother which I think is just amazing. This is really the cutest little shop and a wonderful slice of NY in a small town in western North Carolina. It was pretty quiet on the Sunday morning I came, so I hope they pick up because they have some seriously awesome food at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend! read more

Bagels we're ok and I really don't think they make them to be honest. Dough was dense and nothing like a NY bagel. I've had them in Brooklyn and these were not them. The Lox bagel ingredients were tasty but the bagel should be a big part of that flavor and it wasn't. Service was quick and friendly but we will pass on this sadly next time we are in Waynesville. read more

Cute bagel place in Downtown Waynesville! A perfect add to our Central Business District. They have a limited number of bagel types (which is good if you are from the N.E.). I was never a fan of the Sun-dried Asiago, gluten free blueberry bagel anyway! Their sesame bagel with cream cheese suited me just fine. I'm the same with my coffee (sorry Starbucks, but you're not getting my business). Venti Double-decaf Carmel macchiato with a shot of espresso and frothed cream isn't in my diet pan. So, I like regular coffee with 1/2 and 1/2, on hitch they do have. They have a number of flavors to add to your coffee. But again, you see what I like. So, bottom line, go there and see what they've got. You'll like it. read more

Ordered 2 bagels, got them over 30 minutes later and watched over 8 people who ordered after us get their orders first. We said something to them and instead of offering something or even saying sorry they made excuses. Bagel was good but overpriced and a huge waste of time. read more

Such an amazing event space! We threw a party in the downstairs space and it was fantastic! The owner Brooke was so helpful, professional, and kind the entire time. She came to check on us multiple times and helped fix any problems we ran into. We we're allowed to decorate however we wanted. Also she stayed late for us and was flexible about availability! We hit it for breakfast this morning. Good bagels, which we understand are actually made in New York and shipped here. I had a sausage, egg, and cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel. My wife had the gluten-free bagel and said it was quite good. We will go back again and try their lunch bagel sandwiches. Both breakfast and lunch items are available whenever they are open. As we live nearby we will probably pop in often. read more

I was really excited to have a NY style bagel shop right here in Waynesville. I was disappointed unfortunately. In their defense it is a new business. It wasn't to crowded when I was there. There was a couple in front of me that just ordered and I let a previous customer in front of me ask for a refill on coffee. That's where things started to show. Once he asked they went on to take my order before he said never mind he had to go. I would have thought a coffee refill would have been quick especially since they weren't that busy with 3 employees behind the counter. As I ordered I waited a good twenty minutes or so. I did order to-go because I couldn't stay and eat. During my wait I did get to check out the place. It has a lot of space and even a down stairs with couches and tvs mounted to the wall (restrooms on both floors). It's decor is set up to feel like a NY bagel shop and it does just that. Once I got home to eat I discovered my order was wrong. They gave me a bagel that I didn't order. One order was correct, the other had what I ordered originally plus the second order all into one (if that makes sense). My bagel was ok but not what I was expecting to be since they advertise and named it to be NY style bagels. If you're in a rush for breakfast before work this isn't the place to get in and out quickly. If you've got plenty of time and able to work remote then I'd say this is your place. I'll revisit but not any time soon. Give them a chance to get the business grounded and change a few things if they read our reviews here. The staff is friendly so points for that. read more

Quite possibly the WORST bagel I have ever had from a bagel store. Ordered a sesame bagel (not toasted) with butter and a bacon egg & cheese on a gluten free everything bagel, to go. Waited over 30 minutes after ordering. Opened the bag in the car. The sesame bagel was at least 1 or 2 days old, certainly not fresh. Very dry and very small. (About 1/2 the size of an actual NY bagel). The other was what looked like pimento cheese and bacon on a sesame bagel. Not close to what we ordered. Had to go back to the store and when we asked if they could remake the b/e/c in a couple minutes the clerk asked, "are you in a rush"? If I could give the food here ZERO stars I would. Do not bother. No way should they EVER claim to be a NY style bagel store. read more

Shut up. Just go here. We brought a dozen home and they are perfect. Shut up, they are perfect. PERfect. Even the plain bagel is perky and wonderful. These are how real bagels taste and what makes them wonderful. I also met some friends there on Independence Sunday and we tried the sandwiches and they were all excellent. The folks there are working hard getting through the first year curve of an independent business so they need our help getting over the hump. They're artists. This is a great new addition to the neighborhood and brings something that was needed. A great place for coffee and the bagels are just wonderful. The owner, Brooke, and her staff have worked very hard to make this shop a place you will enjoy coming to over and over again. And, the sandwiches are great! My husband and I stopped in for bagels. We were excited to see that they were New York bagels here in Waynesville. We got some bagels to go and warm them up at home. My husband is from New York and we have had New York bagels often. These bagels were not very good. They lacked flavor. I do not recommend. read more
