My family had a late lunch on 08MAY2026 at Creekside because we wanted a dog friendly restaurant with an outdoor space and good food. When our server Abigail came to the table, she leaned down so Mocha could greet her, which shows what a kind person Abigail is! Abigail brought water for the 3 of us and for our dog. My mother had the fried catfish and it was delicious. My wife had the mahi sandwich, which she enjoyed. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, which was very good. The first Monte Cristo I had was 40 years ago at Disney World Town Cafe. They had raspberry jelly for dipping the sandwich so the savory of the sandwich and the sweet of the raspberries made an interesting contrast, which would be my only suggestion to make your Monte Cristo better. We visited this restaurant while on vacation with a party of six. Since it was a busy Saturday night, we expected a long wait--but to our surprise, they got us seated fairly quickly. From start to finish, the customer service was top-notch. The hostess greeted us with a warm welcome, and our server was incredibly attentive--making sure our drinks stayed full and our table was well taken care of. We kicked things off with a few cocktails. Most were delicious, but the margarita didn't quite hit the mark for me--it tasted like it was made with a standard bottled mixer. Nothing terrible, just not special. The rest of the drinks, however, were a hit at the table. As for the food--wow! We ordered a variety, including crab legs, crab cakes, steak, fried catfish, oysters, and gator tail. For appetizers, the oysters and gator tail were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I had the fried catfish with collard greens and grits. The catfish was spot-on--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, with a batter that was perfectly seasoned. The grits were good--maybe not as creamy as I prefer, but still tasty. Now for the collard greens: they were vinegar-based, which the server kindly warned me about. I do enjoy vinegar, but these were very heavy on it--to the point where it had that strong bite and burn in the back of your throat. So, not my favorite. If you're a vinegar-lover, you might really enjoy them, but they weren't for me. Everyone else at the table had zero complaints. The crab legs were a hit, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the crab cakes were well-seasoned and fresh. Honestly, everything was high quality--it just came down to personal preference when it came to flavors. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a try. My absolute favorite feature of Creekside is that it literally is creekside! I loved sitting outside along the creek while we waited for our food. Their garden salad is huge and delicious, with homemade dressing. I just ordered a side of grilled shrimp to go with it and was stuffed. This was a great place to stop on our way to the Smokies. read more

They were tasty and the bread was fresh. The remoulade sauce for the shrimp Po boy was very flavorful. The fries were good, but the side of cheese grits were not great. Kind of boring and lacked flavor. One of us ordered oysters Rockefeller. You get 6 for $18. They were so small. Super tiny oysters. That was disappointing. I wanted to like this place. Our server was fantastic and the inside is super casual which was nice. Their salad tasted fresh but the balsamic was super salty. The fried okra appetizer had good flavor but were served lukewarm. The grits were lukewarm. Our peel and eat shrimp were undercooked and also lukewarm. The fried oysters were decent but over salted. Our steamed oysters were covered in Old Bay seasoning- which totally defeats the steamed oyster experience for me and made me question the reason. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon in July around 1:00 PM. There is plenty of parking. They were busy but no overly so. We were greeted after a few minutes and taken to a table. We wanted to sit outside to hear the creek but it was so humid and rainy we decided against it. Service was good and plates were picked up as needed. We tasted a couple of tap beers and decided on the Founder's IPA. It was very good. We ordered the Crab Cake BLT and a bowl of the soup of the day which was Crab and Corn. The soup was just thick enough with plenty of corn. It was very tasty even though it didn't have much crab flavor. The Crab Cake BLT was disappointing. It didn't taste like crab meat at all. The accompanying french fries were ok but some were pretty lifeless. Our friend ordered the fried oysters which he said were good. We don't live here but our friend visits often. We like to come and have dinner here each visit (3-4 times a year) and never had a bad meal and the service is good. The bad taste left in my mouth with this latest visit is how sketchy it is that when you order a side of protein (steak) with a salad it's $8 less expensive than if you order it a la carte. It's literally the same size serving (I asked). It's wrong. We got the seafood platter meal and two appetizers and I wanted just a few bites of a rib eye so I ordered a side thinking it was $8. We also had cocktails when we got there and we would have stayed and had a few more had I not been upset over being charged $16. Instead we left feeling cheated and taken advantage of..... and to top it off the steak was full of gristle and chewy. Not good quality. read more

Tuesday was my wife's birthday. We decided to go to Creekside in Sylva for dinner. What a mistake. We used to love this place. Tuesday is oyster night. $1 a piece. So, we ordered 24 of them. They were so small. I mean, really, really small. They were also rubbery. They were also served lukewarm. We mentioned melted butter four times when placing the order, but we never got it. The waitress seemed very stressed and frazzled. We ordered clam chowder soup. It was too spicy for my wife. So, she asked if she could have the shrimp chowder instead. She said yes and brought her another bowl of clam chowder. My wife had to ask her to come back again. We also got a mahi mahi sandwich. That was ok. My wife has a reaction to any citrus. So, she asked for water with no lemon. She got water with lemon. We were very specific that there should be no lemon on anything. The server brings us oysters with lemon. I ate any of them that touched it, as my wife would have a reaction Sadly, we left so disappointed. We wish they would be consistent. You should never have to track down your server. Especially when you see other servers taking time with their guests. She seemed like she was just ignoring us. Closer to the end of the dinner, she seemed more attentive. Why not. It was tip time. And yes, we still left her a tip. The plus side, they got new benches and they are very comfortable. read more

The shrimp are excellent. Steak sandwich is everything you want in a steak sandwich. Calamari was good but for the price they should have doubled the portion. Otherwise the food is excellent and I recommend. Their downfall is the bar. They could use some YouTube tutorials on basic drinks. Their house specialty drink while purple and pretty wasn't very pleasant to drink and they are completely incapable of producing an actual old fashioned, which just resembles a watered down mess that kindof tastes like sweetened bourbon. Everything was tasty. I had 1/2 dozen oysters. They were small but had good flavor. Also had a 1/2 lb steamed shrimp. Very good. My bride had Calamari which we both enjoyed and she had catfish strips and fried okra that she loved. Well done, Creekside! It was worth the 1.5 hours wait for a table. read more

Mostly all delicious!! We enjoyed our meal at Creekside Oyster House with only a few hiccups. I ordered the seared scallops and they were amazing; the goat cheese grits were to die for! The kid's catfish and fries were also incredibly delicious. I tried my husband's trout and it was not good at all. It had an old fish taste, just not fresh. He asked about it and they let him pick a different menu item. He got the pork, which thankfully was fantastic. My stepson got the surf & turf, but said the lobster didn't taste very good. My recommendations: scallops, pork, and kid's catfish were the best. It was pricey, as is everything now, but we'd eat here again for a splurge. read more

Service was unacceptable we came in on September 20,2025 at 3:00 and we sat down and several of the waitress walked past us and looked never approach us again after given the menu to us. We walked out and no one still didn't approach us! We are out town guests and will never be back and will make sure that People will know how unacceptable this was and not recommending this place. We dropped in here while we were visiting the town of Silva in NC. And I went in along with my cousin to first check if Fido is allowed in the patio area, and then secondly to reserve a table outdoors for our group of five. Short answer, yes indeed, Fido and his home dawgs are welcome in the patio seating. We got seated after an estimated hour and a half wait, though it actually turned out sooner than expected. The crowd in here was rather pleasant, and the weather was a bit chilly, but I made through it. The service was quick and snappy all throughout. When ordering the drinks, I had no clue on any cocktails, so I asked the waitress for a recommendation. I then acquiesced on the suggestion of a Lemon Berry Tart. When it arrived, I had a sip or two, and suffice it to say it was quite unlikely any other drink I have tasted. I could detect hints of strawberry and lemon and some other flavors that I couldn't quite pin the ribbon on. In short, this drink was certainly refreshing and honestly thought about getting a refill once it was done and over with. Yes siree, it really was the highlight of the outing for me. I then ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, as it was apparently an award winning dish or some such. I certainly think the portions were generous, and especially the Mac and cheese - there was a sufficient amount of that to go around. It was not quite that tasty or tantalizing, and I feel the spices or the flavoring could have been better executed; that is, it felt light and low on the salt, and in addition I found that the lobster bits were too far and in between, and I couldn't really appreciate their taste as much. All in all, a decent experience and the service was quick and seemingly effortless. We were tourists and stopping by, but we found the ambiance of this place to be quite pleasant. read more

After a busy night working at church, we were ready to Not Cook. A favorite down the road was backed up, so we decided to try Creekside. The waitress was quick and highly capable. Service was very speedy from the kitchen. I got the grilled trout, maple glazed carrots and cole slaw. The trout looked smallish, but was tasty. The maple glazed carrots were as advertised - sweet and mapley. The cole slaw was creamy. Hubby got the grilled shrimp, hush puppies and collards. He felt the shrimp was a little overcooked. We are used to hush puppies with onions, so he missed the onion flavor in the hush puppies. The collard greens are pretty heavily stoked with hot sauce, so he found them to be too hot and too vinegary. We definitely feel Creekside is worth another visit on a busy night. First time at the new Creekside location and I will say the new building is much nicer and bigger. The back patio is also very nice and you stay have the creek running behind you. We came when they first opened at 5:00PM and were able to quickly be seated. We ordered drinks and I went with the Dirty Martini. It was just OK. I wish they would have filled my glass and little more as well as I wish they had blue cheese stuffed olives. Of appetizers we had to go for the oysters. We ordered a half dozen Oysters Camamount and a half dozen Oysters Rockefeller. The Oysters Camamount were the best thing I had all night. They were amazing! The oysters are grilled with bacon, onions, mushrooms, a house made Tiki sauce, and parmesan. Might be the best oyster I have ever had. I could probably eat 50 of them. They are a must try. For my entrée I went with the Fried Seafood Platter for $19. You get to pick 3 options from Catfish, Shrimp, Crab Cake, Oysters, and Calamari. It also comes with 2 sides. For my 3 proteins I went with the Catfish, Calamari, and the Crab Cake. For my sides I went with fries and hushpuppies. I made it as much of a fried platter as I could. The Calamari and Catfish were both good but nothing to ride home about. The Crab Cake on the other hand was not good. It was mostly just filler with tiny bits of pulled crab. Should I stayed one the oyster train. All and all just and OK experience. We will most likely come back though since it's the only seafood restaurant in the area and the oyster are good. To make it easy get the Oysters Camamount and say away from the Crab Cake. read more

My husband and I stop in for dinner. It was right before the main rush. Seems the locals really like this place. The hostess and waitress was very friendly and helpfully. We sat outside on the back patio near the water. It was a little chilly and we had the outside to ourselves. The heaters were out of gas so others decided to stay inside. I ordered the pork chop and it arrived a little more pink than I have seen before. The waitress did take it back to cook it longer. I was surprised they brought back the same pork chop and it was still very pink. It's a shame because the sauce was delicious and the red cabbage was perfect match. Even the meat near the bone was bleeding. Maybe others would be okay with it but it's just not for me. My husband had the shrimp bisque and shrimp & grits. He enjoyed them both very much. read more

Hmmm, where to start. We visited on a Friday night and had a table of 6, seated within 20 mins. Outside is cool with river views and games to play. Kelsey was our server, she was a gem, so kind and delivered great service. That's where anything positive ends. We ordered crab and corn dip and mozzarella sticks for apps. Corn dip was okay, very little crab, the tortilla chips were stale! We told the server, they replaced them, the new chips were no different - still stale. Mozzarella sticks tasted like they came straight out of the freezer. Zero taste and bland. Seafood boil - so bland! The clams were so dry and tasted like dirt, the crab legs were cold, the shrimp tasted like they were still frozen, extremely hard and nothing had any seasoning! So bland!!! Linguine and meatballs, presentation was sad! The "sauce" was extremely watery and just full of tomatoes, my daughter wouldn't eat more than two bites. Lobster Mac and cheese - there was zero truffle in this dish, as advertised on menu. There was one tiny claw of lobster meat. Decent tasting, but not for $15. I'd save your money and go pretty much anywhere else. read more
