This is the breakfast place in East County. I love the three egg and chorizo dish with homefries smothered in Tabasco. It's a fabulous way to start the day. All the servers are friendly and energetic--they make you feel like a regular ("NORM!") and are attentive to your needs: coffee cup is hot and full, water pitchers on the table for large parties, jelly and hot sauces replenished regularly. This place has so much character! Classic diner and well suited in Lakeside. I came here with my Mom and Sister. We shared two plates of food because the portions are massive. We ordered breakfast, omelette and waffles (delicious!) however the coffee was pretty awful. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. We have been going past this restaurant for a year and a half and never stopped because the parking lot always seemed to be packed. Well, today we took a chance and were very glad that we did! We found a parking spot and once inside we were greeted and were at our table in no time. The staff was great and the food was excellent! We were watching as the plates of food were going to the various customers and wow were they looking great and huge! I had the Frisco burger and it lived up to it's name...my wife had the French dip and was very pleased with her order. Service was great and people were coming and going all the time, so I felt that the parking issue would not really be a problem if a person just waited a few minutes for a place to park during their busiest times. Great stop. Actually, one of our very,best, favorite stops. Busy most weekends tho. The biscuits are HUGE. The salsa is homemade as is most everything. The egg benedicts are the best I've had in awhile. The servers are friendly, nice, clean and keep your coffee cups filled. One of the best breakfast houses in San Diego county. A bit dated, so feels like you go back in time...the food and portions are awesome. And customer service by the servers is the best that I've seen...they are friendly, keep the coffee coming and back each other up. Busy on the weekends, but worth the drive. read more

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch, they aren't open for dinner. I love the French Omelet for breakfast and the Chicken Salad Croissant off the the lunch menu. I've heard good things about the Ultimate French Toast, but haven't tried it, yet! They are on top of the drinks (a big thing for my husband). They have REALLY good coffee. My dad goes very early to beat the crowds, their parking is limited. I always bring half my meal home for later. Great portions for a great price. We've been here several times, the severs are always friendly and the portions generous just like at the related restaurants we've been to so far. Omelets are big enough that you'll get two breakfasts out of one. Flavored coffee creamer is available and the carafe of coffee on the table is a big plus. Heads up on parking, it can get a little crowded. We showed up today closer to a brunch hour (11am) and we found a spot and were seated quickly. read more

I have been here several times for breakfast and lunch. The portions are very large and the service is great. I have never had to wait very long for a seat and then the waitresses are super friendly. I like some dishes better than others and sometimes the food quality varies and that may be because of a different cook, but I have always found the breakfasts to be good. If you are a light eater you might consider splitting an omelet because their portions are large. read more

I originally blown away by how great the staff was. Within a minute or two 3 people asked me if I had been helped. I got the ultimate burrito to go. So good. The lady that helped me even ran into the back 3 times for me because I was a dork and forgot to ask for a couple things. The food was super good. Not greasy at all and was super filling. Even the hash browns weren't swimming in oil. I was super impressed. This place is definitely on my list of fav places to eat now. One of my favorite cafe's! We are regulars so I can tell you this place is delicious. The staff is so nice and helpful, managing to get everyone seated within 10 minutes on those super busy days. the parking situation is a little tight, but don't much care about that, it is worth the walk. the portions are on the LARGE size and everything is so good! endless coffee and drinks! read more

My husband and I visit this place often. It's always busy, which according to my aunt, means the place must be good. It *IS* good. The food is really good and home made - IHOP has nothin' on their pancakes - so big and fluffy and full of yummyness. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. A hidden gem of an old - fashioned coffee shop/diner with delicious comfort food delivered to your table in huge portions by a friendly, efficient staff! Nothing fancy about Cafe 67 but they do have great food. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in east county. They have great biscuits and gravy, great steak and eggs, and great omelets. The coffee could use a little work. Get here early on the weekend or leave yourself a little extra time to find parking because it gets crowded in the parking lot. read more

I'd first like to say that I had such a horrible experience at Cafe 67 this morning that I created a yelp account specifically to give feedback. My husband, son and I live in the area and have wanted to try Cafe 67 for awhile. Our first impression was good, the restaurant was clean and surprisingly not at all busy (there were many open booths and we were seated right away). Our issues started while ordering. I attempted to order an omelette with extra crispy hash browns. The waitress then told me that there was no way to guarantee extra crispy hash browns because they were only allowed a certain amount of grill time per meal (due to limited grill space) but that they usually "come out fine." I thought that was a really weird statement, as I don't feel like asking for crispy hash browns is unreasonable but I decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. When my meal came, my hash browns looked no different than my husbands or the gentlemans sitting next to us. Not only were they VERY lightly browned, the inside didn't even taste fully cooked. No attempt had been made to cater to my request. When I discussed this with the waitress, she seemed annoyed that I was upset and told me again that they have limited grill space and can't cook them any longer. I attempted to discuss that the restaurant wasn't even at full capacity so I couldn't understand why this was even an issue. Essentially I was told there was nothing they could do except to remove the hash brown portion of my meal off of my bill. They gave me a 2 dollar discount and made very little apology otherwise. My husband also felt that his meal wasn't well cooked and that it tasted very rushed. I will NEVER go back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant both for the lack of good customer service as well as the poor quality of food. read more
