The photo below, the date has already passed for this "menu offer." My husband and myself ordered it. We thought it was going to be a yummy half a chicken. It wasn't. It seemed to be compressed chicken with bbq sauce smeared on top. There was no leg or thigh bone. Was not what we expected and were disappointed. We let the manager know. The potatoe salad was not prepared as typical potatoe salad. Too crunchy. It supposedly had apples in it, but couldn't distinguish the apple cubes from the potatoe cubes. Wish we would have returned the entire dish. We had no compensation offered us. Only thing that was good about that dish, were the fruity berry tarts. Please note, food is not always as deceiving. Quick dinner before the show. Very roomy, clean, high ceiling, big window and no line no smoking dining hall. Hospitable and efficient staff. Water with lemon wedge came out quick. As soon as you ordered, the server brought out the warm sour dough mini rolls with butter spread. We ordered a French dip and two fish tacos. The thin sliced prime rib cuts is melt in your mouth soft with melted Swiss cheese and Boursin on the soft French roll. Au jus is not fatty and well complimented. The beer battered cod in the taco is fresh and bland just the way it should be. Squeeze the lemon wedge and enjoy. The truffled fries are really good. Portion is big and filling. MAKE RESERVATIONS we arrived for dinner and waited 40 minutes for an opening but pleasantly surprised they offered a Valentine's Day dinner for two $85. Share an appetizer- we picked passion fruit shrimp cocktail which was 8 large poached shrimp with a passion fruit forward cocktail sauce and a charred lemon. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the charred lemon added a nice touch. We each picked an entree of the 2 offered - Ginger Glazed Wild Salmon and Grilled ribeye. The salmon was on top of couscous with baby grilled zucchini. The salmon had crispy skin and was fork tender just flaked right off and was very flavorful. The rib eye was grilled medium and covered in a peppercorn demi gravy that was so luxurious. I was half tempted to lick the plate. The pesto baby golden potatoes were like individual servings of mashed potatoes which paired nicely with the rib eye and charred asparagus. Share the dessert - Raspberry Chocolate Bombe- was expecting more chocolate than the 2 small heart shaped cookies which did not have a forward chocolate taste but more of a sugar cookie feel. The "bombe" was Raspberry ish mousse covered in a firm Raspberry jelly on top of a thin butter wafer/cookie with fresh strawberries and blueberries which were tossed in sugar. Every course was brought out timely and the presentation of each dish was exquisite. Everything was well seasoned and the appropriate temperature right down to the chilled plate and spoons for dessert. Plenty of seating and service was impeccable. A nice sit down restaurant inside Sycuan casino. The windows reflect the surround mountain areas and the pool areas of the resort. The one downside here was the location of where our party sat. The sun was glaring onto our table. Unfortunately the shades were not functioning on this day so some of our party had to sit facing the sun the entire meal. The server that helped us was very good and friendly. For the most part we did enjoy our meal. read more

AYCE steamed snow crab legs at Viewpoint restaurant in Sycuan every Wednesday from noon to close. This promo started 18 June for $49.99. You start out with a basket of complimentary mini sourdough rolls. Then the first plate includes two crab clusters with a side of broccolini, mini baby potatoes, half corn on the cob, and half a roasted lemon. Sauces include melted butter, cocktail sauce, and mayonnaise. Additional plates exclude the veggies and you get two crab clusters each round on request. There was no line but we were given 25 minute wait time. We got the text to arrive and discovered a line of people who also received the 25 minute text. It must be on rotation, staffing or they want you to go play casino games. The snow crabs were sweet and semi easy to open. Tools were given but we brought our own kitchen sheers which made it quick and simple. I am crab out for now but definitely a place to be if you just want strictly crab. It's a full on restaurant so you can order from the menu noon to close. Abdoul was our server and made sure we were on repeat and each plate came out hot. We appreciate his service. read more

A hidden gem located in the Sycuan casino. My extended family loves Sycuan they're "Black" & "Diamond" members. So we were invited to try this restaurant and it was amazing! It's a beautiful restaurant, very light and bright, looked elegant but casual. We had a reservation for a party of 13. From the moment we sat down to the end of our meal, Nico our server was awesome! He was so friendly and efficient throughout. And there were other employees that would come to our table periodically to ask how we were doing. We ordered various menu items, I had the steak frites with chimichurri on side and truffle fries. Absolutely delicious! My 12 ounce ribeye steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare and the fries were nice and crisp. I literally could bathe in the chimichurri sauce it was so good, the best I've ever had. All the food was so visually appealing I wasn't able to take a lot of photos of the food-we were hypnotized lol. For dessert we shared banana splits, sorbets and parfaits and we left all satisfied. Also the Wilson Creek Almond Sparkling Wine (or champagne) they use for the mimosas is wonderful! I didn't even add any juice to it, great by itself. We went to Viewpoint twice during our stay at Sycuan. The first was a night visit for drinks and a bit of gambling in the machines embedded in the bar. The second was for breakfast before we headed home. Ilene was our bartender for our nighttime visit. We've met Ilene before on previous visits to Sycuan. She is always super sweet and a great barkeep. For breakfast we opted to sit outside on the patio. Our server was Jesus. He was very nice and efficient and attentive. Menus given and drink orders taken. Bloody Mary for Becky and just black coffee for me. He also brought a complimentary couple of pieces of sweet bread with some butter. It was very good. Upon Jesus' return with the drinks, we placed our orders. The two-egg and breakfast potatoes breakfast for me. I chose eggs over-easy, rye toast and sausage patties. It was delicious. The eggs were prepared perfectly. A huge helping of potatoes and two sausage patties were more than I could eat and took some home. I loved that the jam for the toast was served in a little dish rather than those stupid one serving impossible to open little containers. Becky only wanted a side of sausage. The food was great as was the service from Jesus and Ilene. We also ran into some friends who were seated at an adjacent table. They were there celebrating their anniversary as well, so that was fun. read more

Not only are the food really yummy here, the staff is exceptional! I stayed at the hotel for my birthday and went here for brunch. The chef made a beautiful dessert for my bday. The service, food and ambiance is always spot on at Viewpoint. I have never had a bad meal here and get really excited for any small bite or plate here. Today I had the bowl of chowder, it had a great amount of clams, cod and potatoes in it. It's so creamy, savory and comforting. Our server was so kind and agreed that they have the best food here in the entire resort, she went on to say they make all of it in house and do not use microwaves or anything like that which is so nice to hear. read more

Really enjoyed the French Dip! A restaurant in the Sycuan Casino. Really enjoyed the French Dip one evening ...prime rib was flavorful as well as the au jus sauce. Lots of salad that came both it! 2nd evening i wasn't hungry so I had the shrimp cocktail for my dinner. Nice sized shrimp/ prawns with cocktail sauce - was enough for me! If you play at the casino and get a member player's card, be sure to give the card to the server when settling the check. With some accumulated playing points, you can get the meal price reduced from the points, as well as an overall discount! We decided to fuel up before hitting the casino floor and found this great spot. As the name suggests, there are large windows with a view of the surrounding hills and the restaurant has classy decor, fitting for a casino. I was very pleased with the menu, and while there aren't a ton of options, there's a selection of breakfast and lunch items. I was also pleasantly surprised at the prices, especially for the cocktails (around $11-13). If you have a players card, that also entitles you to a discount. Our table ordered both a breakfast and lunch item: - Create your own omelet & hashbrowns. In today's egg economy the price was very reasonable and the omelet quite large. - Burger and fries. This burger was delicious, I'm not sure if it's because I haven't had one for a while but I thoroughly devoured it. I only come here at my dad's insistence so here is my review from someone who would rather not eat at the casino if I can help it .. The servers are wonderful and are very kind and friendly. They humor my dad when he tells his bad dad jokes. So much appreciated. The food is standard fare but it is not bad at all. I had the salmon and the pasta and they were delicious. I wouldn't recommend the buffet if you can help it unless you're getting comped. We did the $49.99 seafood buffet and whilst I love AYCE, I've have better for the price. There is a decent patio area but keep in mind it does get hot during the warmer months although there are umbrellas when the sun is high in the sky. We usually eat here 1-2x every other month, and we'll alternate with the other eateries inside sycuan. read more

So good! 12OZ RIBEYE ($40) - grilled ribeye, broccolini, garlic mash potatoes, chimichurri. Craving steak but have already ate at the steak house down stairs from this restaurant. I've been told their steak here is better than the offering downstairs... let me be the judge! Had my steak come out medium-well because I don't like it too bloody and anything less can shoot me to the restroom. When the plate arrived the portions were massive and the streak looked very promising! They didn't say what farm the steak came from (that can matter) but its preparation was good. Nice searing and grill marks. Good seasoning - not too salty. Yes cooked medium well but a little too-medium-well if that is on the spectrum but still quite edible and juicy. Quality of meat, maybe not as good as downstairs steak house BUT preparation and price beats downstairs steakhouse. As for the sides, the garlic potatoes had breathes wreaking afterwards LOL. The broccoli I felt was a little too salty for my preference - many will like that level of salt but I tend to be on the less salty side of the world. HIGHLY RECOMMEND I always leave room for dessert but this was a lot to eat. Will need to come back and do Brunch here! Until the next review.... read more

My wife and I eat at Viewpoint often whenever we visit Sycuan Casino & Resort. They have a good variety of food on their menu and the atmosphere is always great. They have floor to ceiling windows on side of the restaurant that let in abundant natural light during the day and they have ample lighting during the evening. There is plenty of seating and we rarely have to wait to be seated. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. During our last visit we had dinner there and I had a Western Bacon Cheeseburger Special while my wife had their Shrimp Louie salad. Both were excellent. Highly recommend Viewpoint for breakfast, lunch or dinner! read more

We went to Viewpoint for drinks and calamari. I try my best to catch names so I hope our server's name was Adrianna. She was very kind, very personable and attentive. Tender fried onions and jalapeño were mixed in with the calamari. Calamari was tender and the batter was light, my favorite way. The following morning after checkout, 11am, we went back because we wanted to end the trip with a michelada. EVERYONE, Kelly was working the bar and it felt like the michelada was tailor made to our specifications. It was not heavy on the tomato bade but definitely had enough to enjoy. The balance of the vodka and spices, PERFECT. Ah yes, simple yummilicious, huge olives . No bacon, no shrimp, simple olives. I'm sure Viewpoint is worth going to for full dining but make sure you connect with Kelly for the drinks but especially the micheladas. read more
