This cafe is open earlier than anyone else in the area. Had a great breakfast bagel and another taken along as my mid bike ride lunch. Rode from downtown Portland to Multnomah Falls and then to Bridge of the Gods and back and my bring-along lunch was just perfect. It's not gourmet, but it is exactly what the doctor ordered. I've been a loyal customer here for a long time, ordering daily and even bringing in new business by recommending this place to coworkers. The staff knows my order by heart, and I've always supported this restaurant. But recently, I had a very disappointing experience. I once placed an order but, due to not feeling well, forgot to pick it up. When I returned a few days later to resume my usual order, I was told--very rudely--that I could not order again until I paid for the item I missed. I have never heard of a business treating a loyal customer this way, especially someone who has spent as much here as I have. What makes this worse is that I've personally seen male coworkers receive more leniency when they didn't have enough money or forgot their wallets. They were allowed to leave with their food on an "IOU," while I, a regular paying customer, was spoken to harshly and denied service over a single missed order. This kind of inconsistent and disrespectful treatment is unacceptable. Loyalty should count for something, and customers deserve to be treated fairly and respectfully--regardless of gender. read more

I come here every time I visit Portland for work. I always stop by in the morning to grab some food and coffee. I always get their breakfast burrito which is always stuffed full of protein and their iced coffee is to die for. There is a sweet little Asian lady that is always working in greeting me with a smile each time I see her. I can tell she really is passionate about her job and wants the best for her customers. Cafe 700 is a convenience for me, as I work across the street. That said, the food is good with generous portions. This is a working cafe with working hours, so any review citing ambiance should be ignored. You walk to the counter and order from a menu that has a lot of options, including daily specials. The closer you get to closing time, the more likely that your first option wil be sold out. That's the hazard of buying from a small business. They can't afford to let extra food go to waste. Everything is prepared to order (or at least everything I have ordered has been) but it still comes fairly quickly. If you are looking for a satisfying and quick lunch option, this is the place for you. read more

The counter service is great, I really like the lady who is always working the cash register. And the food is solid and reliable. Costco must be one of their suppliers because I recognize the Costco muffins. Personally I like to order any of the salads, the turkey sandwich (it's a good sized sandwich), breakfast burritos, cheeseburger, chicken burger, teriyaki chicken, and some of my coworkers rave about the egg salad sandwich Friday special. This place is one of my top go-to for lunches during the work week. I haven't tried everything on the menu but can say their turkey sandwiches are literally fresh roasted turkey. As in, if you stop by in the morning you'll usually fine a big cooked turkey sitting on the back counter cooling. Amazing effort they put in. Their portion sizes are pretty big! Especially the salads. I also like their chicken teriyaki and have had to start asking for less chicken because they put so much on! I appreciate that they put on more versus less. Their prices are comparable for the area and for the portion size I think it's a good deal. The owners are so pleasant and efficient. The woman, haven't gotten her name (bad me) flies around behind the counter doing so many things at once you'll be in awe of her energy. But she gets things done and doesn't forget orders and is alway thoughtful asking if you need cutlery or a bag. It's a great little place for lunch. read more

It's your standard Cafe inside of high-rise building consisting of overpriced convenience store options with an ambiance of a hospital or clinic. It is a clean Cafe except for empty boxes of product and random plastic bags, that do pose a threat to small children infants small pets or other animals such as guide dogs. Also be careful not to "catch" some roll off of the cashier's bad attitude and judgy personal moral fibers, I like all the beautiful unique open-minded individuals of Rose City; take your amazing self to another place a beautiful place of acceptance for who you are no matter what socioeconomic level you come from. read more

this store has a menu and when you order , most likely won't have it. my last time going there since I ordered and the lady was on the phone and was waiting for 10 minutes and she didn't place the order so my lunch time was wasted and was more worried about her phone call while working on the cash register and cleaning when you walk inside and wait 5 minutes to order...just a heads up they don't update the menu and it's very hilarious how she was still on the phone when this was happening read more

Disclaimer: I work across the street. 4 stars for quality and convenience. I've been here a few times and they're good in a pinch. The lunches are above greasy spoon American-Chinese and much better than mall food. But don't come here for coffee unless you're friends with the staff or you like it weak. This place is on the first floor of Lloyd 700 Building. Most customers work in this building or nearby. Good sandwiches and salads. Daily specials are well done and delicious. Their turkey dinner on Thursdays is sooo good. The turkey is nice and moist, the gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberries complement it and puts me in a food coma.
