I will no longer patronize this cafe, nor will I recommend it to anyone. The primary reason is that they're ripping customers off with embarrassingly small portions. It's an insult. OWNERSHIP The ownership is good. The man who owns/operates this cafe is very nice. In every customer interaction I have seen, he's been great. PAYMENT They do not accept AMEX. This isn't too big of a deal, but it's annoying for some of us. However, I understand why they might not accept it. FOOD QUALITY The food tastes good. I've had approximately 10 different sandwiches here, and they all tasted satisfactory. LOCATION/ENVIRONMENT The location is good, and the cafe itself is clean and maintained. SERVING SIZE This is the problem, and it's a big one. I have never in my 40 years of life seen a more pathetic serving size, and I've eaten around the world. I thought perhaps it was specific to a certain sandwich, but it's not. I've tried almost a dozen different sandwiches, and every one of them is an absolute joke. Every sandwich that a friend has ordered has been a joke. It's the smallest serving size I've seen in my entire life. I tried to make this place work because the owner and staff are very kind, but I can no longer support it. I now recommend everyone stay away. A small coffee and a panini will cost you around $20, and you'll receive a portion size that could barely satisfy an infant. I hope ownership sees this review and improves their food. read more

We are very frequent flyers at Alfresco. Jimmy (owner) and Chris (chef) are fun and welcoming. Our family loves fish sandwich, fish and chips, felafel, Cuban Sandwich, Green Machine, and all of the breakfast sandwiches. We get lunch here at least once or twice a week. The portions are very generous! In summer we don't go quite as often because it gets crowded - just part of Cape life. read more

Had always loved Cafe Alfresco under the old family management. Heard that the new owners where friendly, kind and community involved. After Covid restrictions had lessened, I saw a Cape Cod Daily Deal for Cafe Alfresco and quickly bought one. When I stopped in today to buy lunch with my now expired CCDD voucher, (aware that I could only get the amount I paid for it), the Manager/Owner made me feel so bad. He stated he could not honor it because it expired May 1st. I explained that CCDD states you can still use it for the price you paid, and he got angry. He said he would honor it but never use CCDD again as he was misled. I offered to take the voucher back and research it on CCDD website, but he kept saying I am not doing anything wrong, but he'll contact CCDD. At the end of my ordering, I told him I had come before it had expired but they weren't open and he basically called me a liar, he said they are open 7 days a week and never closed! I distinctly remember a closed sign on the door (maybe for an event) but did not want to argue with him. He just lost business from a local Brewster Family. read more

Great little breakfast and lunch place that we happened to stumble upon recently. Nice and friendly wait staff. They have a large assortment of coffees and pastries as well as breakfast favorites and sandwiches that you could sink your teeth into! My wife had a BLT with a stack of bacon and very fresh tomatoes. My sons of buffalo chicken sandwich was one of the best he has ever had and I had a generous portion of egg salad on my sandwich lettuce and tomato that really hit the spot! Wouldn't trust it with food allergies. I tried ordering a egg sandwich and told them about my specific food allergies to nuts and beans. (Legumes). Keep in mind, my allergy is quite serious. I specifically said I am allergic to the veggie sausage. 2 minutes later when taking my order the guy asked if I wanted veggie sausage on the sandwich. No, that's exactly what I'm allergic to. In addition, the person taking my order didn't recommend any bread that would work with my food allergies, so it was clear they didn't really consider it a big deal to check their breads. I don't typically give 5 stars because I often think that they are biased or untruthful but Cafe Alfresco deserves the 5 stars. We were looking for a quick and casual place to eat breakfast and this place was exactly that. There wasn't many people there as we went at 10:30 on a Monday. The outdoor seating has a nice ambiance. We got the Western Omelette, Corn Beef hash with eggs and two orders of the bagel and lox. The Omelette was tasty with a good amount of green peppers and ham, the corn beef hash was homemade and TO DIE FOR (we added a little salt to it but that was it) and the bagel and lox was delish. They serve it on two plates, one with all of the fixings for your bagel and the toasted bagel on the other. Overall a VERY successful and delicious meal and it was quick and convenient! read more

I've had three delicious lunches at Cafe Alfresco. As a Cape Cod Real Estate agent I eat on the go constantly. It's not always easy to pass by other non healthy options but try my best. Every time I'm around the Brewster area this is my go to. They are always coming up with new fresh ideas for healthy, high quality sandwich options. The food is fresh and always so good. They have a nice patio to sit and enjoy your sandwich. The staff is always so welcoming and very personable which I think is an important aspect as well. The fries were delicious and the sweet peppers were so good on the panini, I went home with a jar of each hot and mild. Forget Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks: As far as I am concerned this is easily the best coffee shop in this part of Cape Cod. I particularly enjoy the Mocha. (The Espresso here is perfect.) What I really liked about this cafe is that the sandwiches feature organic lettuce and tomato, which makes a huge difference. The Turkey Alfresco is very good, and includes fresh bacon, blue cheese, thick turkey, lettuce and tomato. Free WiFi and a great atmosphere. Really cute redhead girl is very friendly behind the counter. Try the oatmeal, chocolate, orange cookie for desert. read more

This place is gross. First of all I made the mistake of looking in the kitchen to see 2 scruffy, dirty looking men making the food. That was a turn off to start with. We ordered sandwiches. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken panini which was almost all bread and the chicken looked like a frozen patty. I got a burger which I had ordered medium. It was so raw I couldn't eat it. I got my money back for it. It was also brought to me by a guy with a 10 inch beard which I find to be SO disgusting. And when I looked down what did I see? A hair in my food. I mean that just makes my stomach turn!!!! The toppings on my burger looked fresh but the cheese wasn't melted on the burger either which is another huge strike.
