I love this place! By far the best banh-mi, boba, and coffee shop in Manteca! Everything is reasonably priced and all the staff are helpful, kind, and communicative. I appreciate being able to call in orders to pick up as well! I always get a bbq pork banh-mi, a mango boba, and a coffee. They have alternative milks as well- soy, oat, etc. It's always tasty and consistent. I love their vietnamese coffee as well. Would recommend to anyone in the area! read more

Very delicious sandwiches and boba drinks! We ordered 2 hot pressed sandwiches and they were tasty and crispy with generous portion of meat and cheese. Vietnamese sandwich is legit! The baguette was crispy and not too chewy. The homemade mayo and pate was umami in your mouth, pickled carrots and radish to cut the richness and fresh cold cuts with cha lua and pork belly to finish. We drove here from San Francisco and wasn't expecting much from this little deli, but we were wrong. Will make a stop here anytime we are in the area. So 5.5 years ago, when we first moved out to Manteca, there was absolutely ZERO Asian cuisine spots that could fulfill like over in the Bay Area. Cafe Aroma was originally under management that did not bring the authentic Asian flavor to their menu items; we tried it once in 2014 and decided not to come back. In early 2016 it reopened under new management and we gave it another try. Wow, what a difference 2 years made! I mean, really the waiting was agonizing but totally worth it. The owners are so super friendly and our family loves the array of menu items, even my picky little guy. Their corner store is located in the Savemart Plaza off Yosemite, over by Carl's Junior. Parking isn't the greatest but a few minutes is all you'll have to wait before one opens up. Inside the eatery you're welcomed with smiles, hand-painted art (for sale!), rustic tables, and - if you're lucky- Lionel Richie crooning 'Hello' overhead. You know those days when you feel like every task you do drains energy from you little by little? Yesterday was one of those days for me and the 91 degrees outside was contributing to that feeling as well. I decided to treat myself and order lunch from Cafe Aroma for the first time. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Manteca. The caliber and quality of food they are putting out could easily be found in a larger city. I ordered a Vietnamese Sandwich with only veggies and each bite brought me back to life. As I unwrapped the sandwich I felt like a kid unwrapping a long awaited Christmas present. The fact that they took the time and care to sprinkle the veggies with a hit of black pepper once building this beauty was not unnoticed nor under appreciated. The first bite, the crunch of the bread sent my endorphins rushing and I uncontrollably began to happy dance in my car. The jalapeños were spicy and so perfect. Large scallions slide out as I took huge bites and I made sure to devour those too. Tons of fresh cilantro topped the sandwich and the pickled carrots and daikon were divine. This sandwich brought me back to life on a day when my energy was being sucked out with one errand after another on a hot day. Their menu is large and they also have a huge assortment of boba to choose from. They were friendly and everything a restaurant should be. I was in the area and I randomly clicked on this place and I'm glad I did. The people that work are are super nice and friendly. The young man that works there has grade A customer service. I saw him taking a man's order. The man was ordering for another person. The cashier knew who he was talking about and knew what sandwich they got. The young man did it for multiple customers too. That guy has a good memory and the fact he remembers orders will keep customers coming back. Overall, I feel like the sandwich I picked was a bit dry, but looking at the other sandwiches they make you can tell it's pretty good. I'll definitely be back. This place is so great! Every sandwich I've had has been delicious! It's a family run shop which makes it even better. The Banh Mi is my go to, always fresh and perfectly crispy bread. They also have boba drinks and smoothies. I've only tried the Thai Tea and it's so good I've never ordered anything else. Pains me to give this review. Have been coming here intermittently since early 2021 and have been noticing the sandwiches shrinking in size. I used to eat 1/2 to 2/3 of a house sandwich and be able to put the rest aside for another meal. But now I'm eating the whole thing without being satisfied AND I had a full inch of bread only with absolutely nothing to go with it today. One may think "oh she's getting fat so she can eat more".. nope I'm still the 90 lb little girl who eats like a bird. I know inflation is hurting us all but just increase your prices and leave the serving size the same. It's not worth it to your hungry customers who expect satisfactory serving sizes.. A few months ago I said I wouldn't come back for a while because of the shrinking size, thought to give another chance and was again disappointed, but worse than I thought I could be. The taste is great when you get a mouthful of all the great ingredients, so if you eat less than I do, maybe you'll be ok here. I'll wait until reviews show me big sandwiches again before I consider coming back. read more

Definitely order ahead if you want to avoid a 45 minute wait. That was our fault for not realizing. But the lower stars has to do with the food: we each got a sandwich and they were so huge it was nearly impossible to eat. Some people might call that a value, but they fell apart on us so we didn't get the benefit. All sandwiches were on toasted bread, which was toasted so much that the pieces literally crumbled away. Daughter got the tuna salad that had so much dill in it, it was awful and she couldn't eat it. Have you ever eaten a mouthful of dill? Yeah. So while it is clear that people love this place, I would have preferred a bit of refinement. That said, the people working were exceptionally friendly and appreciative of everyone's patience. Cafe Aroma was a great find on our trip through Manteca! A family-run business it was evident from the moment my son and I walked in that they care about the service they provide. My son ordered a small boba drink (which was actually pretty big!) and I had a grilled sandwich and tea. Everything tasted amazing, the service was great, and the price reasonable. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, ham with bacon added, and also added daikon and jalapenos for a little extra flavor! I also ordered a medium frappucinno.
