I ordered through DoorDash. After trying a different sandwich shop with clam chowder on the other side of town, I want to compare it with this place. I'm never sure what to order with sourdough bread, so I just ordered the Italian sandwich with mozzarella, onions, and lettuce. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder because there was a $2.00 difference and I didn't feel that the cup would be enough. The order was fulfilled quickly and the dasher arrived fairly quickly, as well. The food was still at a good temperature and wrapped carefully. I wonder if the clam chowder was made by the same people who made the clam chowder for the other sourdough restaurant. It was good enough but not as good as what I've had on Cape Cod. The sandwich was good with reasonable meats and cheese and a good portion for a 6 inch. read more

The food quality is good but they just can't seem to get the order right. After 3 visits, I feel qualified to say that they need some training on following instructions. A BLT with no bacon. A Cobb Salad missing the egg and blue cheese. Paid extra for avocado and did not get avocado. Added mustard when order specified no mustard. Every order was wrong. I had the brisket... got it served exactly his it is pictured and recommended on the menu. $11.99 for 8 inch I watched them weigh out the meat so it was not heavy on the meat at all. I think it should have at least a tad more meat. As you can see in my photos there is just a touch of the jalapeño coleslaw on it. Made the flavor better without taking it over. Just a tad more bbq would have been better in my opinion but I truly like saucy stuff. Little more meat and a touch more sauce and this could have been a five star experience This is a 9 out of 10. We tried this place for the first time today on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. My wife and I both enjoy eating at sandwhich shops/restaurants so not uncommon. I liked how nice this inside was, clean and everything organized. The menu took a second to figure out, you basically build your sandwich, I'll attach a pic of the menu. So I had the Italian, 6", and made it a meal with a garden salad and drink. My wife had a ham and salami sandwhich. Both on a sourdough bread which tasted very fresh, like it was baked that morning. A sandwich can be so simple, but the bread can elevate the flavor for sure, and this place def has some great bread. Service was nice and quick, our cashier was very nice with us and explained the process of ordering. They do also sell salads and soups, which I'll have to come back and try. It is a little pricier for lunch, a 6" Italian with salad and drink came out to roughly $18. But worth the price, so def recommend. I don't like giving out five stars on just one experience, so for now I'll leave a 4, and if I do go back I'll update my score. read more

I love me a good sourdough sandwich ! I ordered the Garlic pesto turkey, Clam chowder, and Lobster Mac n cheese. My sandwich was good. The bread was really good. Should have ordered just a loaf of bread to eat by itself. The clam chowder was a bit watery and was a bit fishy, as well as the lobster for the mac and cheese. Not sure if this is normal, or it was an off day. Flavor was good in both, just a slight little smell. Nothing crazy. Normal seafood smell. Not sure what's the cause for that. We are visiting from out of town and decided to get a bite to eat at West Coast Sourdough in Manteca. The food was really amazing! The bread tasted so fresh complementing the sliced meats and the ambiance was very welcoming. One of the things that we noticed was how nice the staff were, giving us options of how how to order. Went here with the low / medium expectations and was still underwhelmed. I got a salad ( chicken Caesar -$10) "for here" & they still forgot to put the dressing on. That was the whole point of me getting it "for here" . Literally could have gone to Safeway n spent $5 if I wanted to mix it all up myself. Tbh was the same quality pre cooked chicken n stale Parmesean . Croutons are just burnt sourdough not even seasoning ... like what . Hands down best sandwiches in town!! Husband got the Rueben on marbled rye and he loved it!! Good amount of super thinly sliced corned beef, house sauce, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Dijon mustard. The meat was again sliced super thin and was very lean and not over cooked it was still pink. this sandwich was insanely good!! Everyone that worked there was super nice and answered all of our questions without getting annoyed. We will absolutely go back and recommend everyone to give them a try! I am from San Francisco but staying here in Manteca temporarily with friends until we sell our home. I was craving a Sourdough crunchy sandwich and looked it up and found this gem! Although not quite a San Francisco rustic sourdough bread, this was a darn good tasty sandwich that was paired with outstanding customer service. Ok so the young guy taking orders is still rough around the edges, it all balanced out well! My sandwich was eagerly and promptly delivered to my table, and it was tasty!! I ordered a Turkey/Jack sandwich and I asked for it to be toasted. It was extra yummy because the jalapeño pepper add a nice bite. I order the small 4" and was able to save the other half for later. Another huge plus was that as I was wrapping it up, the sandwich maker left his counter to give me a to go bag! How did he know? And the other worker wished me a good day as I left. Stopped into West Coast Sourdough on a work trip. I didn't have high hopes as it was tucked away in a cluster of chain shops. Service was friendly, helpful and the food came out in a reasonable time. For seating, the tables are mostly geared towards smaller groups but there was more then enough seating. I started off with a lemon cookie and thought it was solid and something different. For sandwiches it's set up so you can pick and choose the ingredients. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mayo on sourdough bread. The bread was great, toasted on the outside and soft on the inside with a great flavor. The other ingredients tasted great and overall I loved the sandwich! I've been here twice now in the past week. The service has been great both times and the food comes out about as fast as it possibly could. I'm pretty sure the guy was making my sandwich as I was ordering it. It came out that fast! The place was also very clean. The sourdough and house spread were great.
