Since moving to Manteca, we've tried going to the restaurant a few times and between the limited hours, waiting list, outside seating, and now mostly Keto diet we had given up on giving Besito's a try. Being limited on what I could order, I ended getting their special steak and a salad and assumed it would be meh. If you don't know how this restaurant works, you're seated, provided with a menu thereafter you walk up to the kiosk to place your order with the attendant. We are familiar with the menu. And ordered the famous chicken n waffles, Chilaquiles, Eggs Benedict, Carnitas french fries, and the infamous drunken monkey French toast. This is definitely a shareable dish packed with flavor. When I saw crab benny on their special, I was excited because I have studied their menu while I was researching for a good benedict spot months ago and it was a let down. What a cute little spot nestled in downtown Manteca! We visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and were pleasantly surprised with our service. The restaurant has an order and then sit down style which was great because you don't feel rushed when trying to figure out what to order. Once you order, there are workers constantly checking on your filling up your water and asking if you need anything. Say you don't care without saying you don't care. My dish, the chicken breast was soo tough. If you're going to use breast, you need to brine it or just not over cook it. It was difficult to swallow it was soo dry. The coating had a good flavor, but salty. The waffle....was very difficult to cut with my knife. It was chewy and not good. I asked for butter and honey on the side. They forgot the butter. I asked for butter again and when she brought it out, it was straight from the fridge. Hard and cold. Please tell me, would anyone try to put hard butter on a waffle or pancake? Loved the atmosphere, it's outdoor seating only it seems, but trim your bushes and trees. We had to adjust our table because the bougainvillea branch was poking my husband's head. Don't expect to be served other than them delivering your food. You go to the podium and place your order and it's weird to ask for a tip when you haven't received service yet. They have FREE self serve water and lemonade. My husband went to the podium and asked for to-go boxes and was asked how the food was and he gave his honest opinion. He walked away, and they stood there talking to eachother and someone came out from the inside after being told about his comment, made eye contact with him, but didn't come to talk to him. We also had to walk around to our car parked on Yosemite, passing the main entrance/kitchen, and they still didn't stop us to talk to us. I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews are coming from. I truly believe that there can be off days, but after reading others 1 star reviews, I believe this is common complaint and they still haven't adjusted the menu. We had Besitos cater for a small party last minute. Charles and his team went above and beyond for us! They were incredibly responsive, approachable, and affordable ! The food was talk of party and everyone kept asking where we ordered from. The parfait and French toast was a particular hit with the children. It actually looks like it belongs in SF more than Manteca, lol. The staff was friendly. Been wanting to come here for months but the hours are hard to follow for me. On the weekends we like to sleep in then by the time we wake up and get ready they are about to close. Finally found the time to come by since we had left a friends house at an early time. I came the day before on the busy street side and was lucky the owner answered the door. She said mornings on the weekends are their schedule and that the back side is the entrance near a lot of parking. During the weekdays they serve meal prep that you would have to order ahead on.
