Typical spot that I'm on the fence about between a 3 and a 4. The first time I came I was underwhelmed by the flavored coffee drinks. The drinks lacked the taste of their flavors as well as the actual coffee flavor. I came back another time and it was a little better but still was a tad lacking. What I did enjoy were their little cup desserts, I think the one I got was a strawberry tres leches. The interior is clean with nice tables and seating. The baked/sweets offerings are all on display right in front where you order as well. They have never been super busy on the days that I've visited. Really cute place! There are outlets under the bench seating so it will be a perfect place to come grab some caffeine and get some work done (not during brunch hours of course). They recommend getting stuff to go at check out in case you don't find a seat- The place is pretty traditional in the Mexican style brunch and coffee, I didn't even know what some items were, but you knew it was good because a lot of Hispanic people were majority of the clientele. I heard that's a good secret to knowing if a place is authentic an tasty. I think this place being new can use some more staff to support the time it takes to process orders, clean tables, help guests with basic needs. Our food took quite a while to come out, I'd say 30 mins or slightly more. (With a cafe style set up, that's a long time.) I would say the food was 3 or 4 out of 5. The hype is real yall. I loveeeee a good coffee spot and this has been my go to since they opened. I'm beyond ecstatic to have places like these pop up in the 209. I've gotten the cafe de olla, matcha, champurrado and my fave- brown sugar shaken espresso. All very yummy!! The thing that sets this location apart from the others is the food. They actually sell full on plates and I can honestly say I've never had a better chilaquiles. My mouth is watering just thinking about all the yumminess! There's usually a line out the door, even at 9 am in Manteca. But it's worth the wait and it usually goes by fast. Driving down I5 I was looking for my morning coffee to help me on my drive. I found this cafe and saw Horchata Latte, I was sold. It was early morning so it was not as busy but some people enjoying their breakfast. The vibe was chill and fresh. Upon entering they had lots of pan dulce and desserts to chose from including a huge concha (I was tempted to get that). I went with the iced Horchata Latte and a small concha. My gf got an iced Chai latte and a puerquito pan. The drinks were 10/10, coffee came through on the horchata latte and it was perfect amount of sweetness. The pan dulce was great! Never had we had a puerquito that was so soft and fresh. Employee's were nice and apologized for the wait even though we did not wait that long. You can enter through either the front or back door; we came in from the back and walked over to the ordering counter on the other side. Their brunch menu runs until 3 PM, so we were able to take advantage of it. We ordered pancakes with eggs, chilaquiles, and the Mexican burrito. Every plate was generously portioned, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. For drinks, we enjoyed horchatas and a Jarrito, which paired perfectly with the food. Although the place was packed, as soon as a table opened up I was able to grab one for my family of three. Before leaving, we picked up some mini conchas to go--they were too tempting to pass up! The entire establishment has a vibrant and well-designed atmosphere, with cool murals and photo-worthy spots throughout. The drink was decent, but it leaned more toward milk and syrup than coffee, with very little coffee flavor coming through. For a latte at that price point, I expected at least a bit more balance and a stronger coffee presence. On the weekends it can get busy so make sure you are ready to wait. The prices are a little high these days but they do have a great rewards system. read more

The prices are high but the quality of the food is mid. I ordered an iced horchata latte that didn't really have the horchata or coffee taste, it wasn't terrible but it just tasted like cinnamon. Con Azúcar Café is a new spot in Manteca, and I took my mother here for brunch (late breakfast / early lunch) as a surprise because she's obsessed with café de olla. First impressions: the café itself is very cute and inviting. The décor is charming and warm. The location, however, is a bit rough. We did see several homeless individuals nearby and people riding bikes around the area. That said, we didn't feel threatened and decided to go in anyway. You order at the counter, then they bring the food to your table. While we were enjoying the décor and chatting, our food arrived... cold. That was such a disappointment--especially since they weren't busy and it wasn't late in the day. My mom ordered the green chilaquiles, and unfortunately, the sauce was bitter, almost as if no one had tasted it before serving. Very surprising and disappointing. I ordered an omelet, which seriously lacked flavor--just very bland overall. I understand this is a new location, but first impressions matter, and this one missed the mark for us. Immediately upon entering, the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice. I loved all the decor that really highlights Hispanic culture as well as the small nods to Manteca. The cashier was very nice, patient, and helpful when it came to ordering. My friend and I both got chilaquiles. She got it with red sauce and chicken tinga while I got mine with creamy poblano sauce and carne asada. I also got the Duvalin Latte, which I enjoyed a lot. When the food came out, we both thought it looked like a small portion (we're used to having a whole plate of chilaquiles at other places), but honestly, this was the perfect amount. The potatoes and beans were a great addition to this dish. I loved the creamy poblano sauce so much, I'm still thinking about it! My friend said her food was good and she really liked the red sauce, which she's usually hesitant to get at other places because it doesn't have the flavor that she's looking for in a traditional red sauce. The girl who took our order provided excellent customer service; we really appreciated her positive attitude and welcoming energy (she had blondish hair/highlights). The food was good as well. However, the rest of the staff should work on improving their customer service. Many of them appeared noticeably unhappy or uninterested in being there, which affected the overall experience. The prices are extremely high, and had I known we would be treated this way, I would not have tipped or possibly even ordered. When we asked about missing items, the barista preparing the coffees seemed annoyed, as if the issue were our fault. The name "Ivette" was written on our drinks, though I am unsure whether that refers to the barista with the high ponytail and dark hair that seemed annoyed/rude or the person who originally took our order. The food is good, but customer service needs improvement. This was our first time visiting, and the process was not clearly explained. When we arrived, an employee welcomed us and started cleaning a table, so we assumed we were supposed to sit and wait. No one told us we needed to get in line to order. As the place became busy, we noticed a long line had formed. When we asked the employee, she told us we needed to stand in line--even though we arrived before at least 10 other groups. We explained it was our first visit, and while it wasn't a big issue, clearer guidance would have helped. I recommend either having a sign explaining the ordering process or having employees clearly tell first-time customers how it works. Also, it would be helpful to display the full menu on the screens. We noticed additional menu items only after we had already ordered. Overall, the food is good, but better communication and training would improve the experience.
