Good food and selection. Great service. Reasonable prices. Spicy chicken strips were awesome.

You have an experience that will please any pallet. I love it that they have three different barbecue sauces for you to choose from, Hot, sweet and mild. To me it lets you choose the flavors you like because one has a little more of a brown sugar taste and the other has a little more of a vinegar taste. I like to dip my sandwich. I got the visit in the evening and introduce a friend from Michigan to one of my favorite restaurants. He was so happy with a brisket. There is so much history and so many cool things to read on the walls. The decor is charming and it's an awesome place to sit and have a beer and catch up with a friend afterwards. It's my favorite for lunch and dinner in the depot district.

The ambiance is a turn of the century brick firehouse. Hubby & I ordered the Firehouse Sampler ($34.95) with 2 sides (mac n cheese, scalloped cabbage). My son got the Pulled Pork ($14.95) with 2 sides (mac n cheese, green beans). Both of these meals needed garlic bread served with them. There were 3 made in-house bbq sauces & they were all bland. Sadly, there was no Carolina gold bbq sauce. The meat was good but a little dry. Of the 3 sides we tried, the green beans were the best. I would like to return & try something on the Handhelds menu. I need bread with my bbq meat!

A majority of the dining area is not within the main house but within an added on area in the front. Their entrees are very approachable and reasonably priced. The only slightly ghetto experience while coming here was when they brought out the lunch special sign (a dry erase board) on a music stand and set it next to the table for a few minutes. Their entrees for lunch are heartier than just the handhelds and generally include a soup or salad, a potato and a veggie. Of course, the pasta I chose doesn't include a potato or a veggie, only a soup or salad. I picked the veal parmesean with a french onion soup. My colleagues and client ordered the single pork chop, cajun chicken (2 breasts) and the stuffed shrimp. Everyone loved their meals, especially my client who loved the shrimp. My veal was pretty good and typical. Overall, this is one of the nicer restaurants for sure in town, and it's owned by the same folks that also own another nice restaurant, Galo's.

I had the meatloaf, roasted potatoes, and mixed vegetables which contained squash and snap peas, and the entire meal was just delicious. My husband had the fettuccine Alfredo and of course it was delicious also. I always get a piece of key lime pie to take home because it's just beyond amazing. Our waitress was amazing and friendly, as was the entire staff. Definitely make a trip.

My son ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Farmer's Choice. I got the Pick-A-Pair Combo and chose a half Legendary turkey sandwich, a cup of chicken noodle soup & a slice of banana nut bread. Our food came out within 10 minutes & looked good. My half sandwich was hearty & delicious. The chicken noodle soup is always good as the noodles are homemade. The banana nut bread was very good also. My son cleaned his plate so I'm pretty sure he enjoyed his breakfast. Our server was friendly & took good care of us. We would eat here again.

The pot roast, sweet cooked carrots and the fresh biscuits had excellent flavor and made my soul so happy. The comedic irony? Getting the food is not what takes a long time. Once you are seated, the waitress and the kitchen are extremely quick. It will take you at least a minimum of 10- 15 minutes to be seated and at least 10 minutes to pay. You better factor that in and you just have to be patient. They are grossly understaffed, but the food is quality. This location is close to the major hospital in town. It's a good solid choice if you're not in a hurry. I felt super sorry for the people who had ordered takeout. Some of them had been waiting in the lobby for over 30 minutes to pick up food that was supposed to be ready at a certain time. The server and cash register are ran by same person and they also have to do take out orders. Her computer crashed and she could not take payments at one point. The most frustrating thing was to watch how many employees were kind of standing around with no tasks and a few employees were running around like crazy. Just poor management.
