My son & I stopped in for a late breakfast while out running errands. The ambiance was clean & bright. We were seated immediately & our drink order was taken. My son ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Farmer's Choice. I got the Pick-A-Pair Combo and chose a half Legendary turkey sandwich, a cup of chicken noodle soup & a slice of banana nut bread. Our food came out within 10 minutes & looked good. My half sandwich was hearty & delicious. The chicken noodle soup is always good as the noodles are homemade. The banana nut bread was very good also. My son cleaned his plate so I'm pretty sure he enjoyed his breakfast. Our server was friendly & took good care of us. We would eat here again. read more

Do not visit here if you don't have at least an hour, so so slow. The food is delicious. Hands-down absolutely amazing meal. My food came out piping hot. The pot roast, sweet cooked carrots and the fresh biscuits had excellent flavor and made my soul so happy. The comedic irony? Getting the food is not what takes a long time. Once you are seated, the waitress and the kitchen are extremely quick. It will take you at least a minimum of 10- 15 minutes to be seated and at least 10 minutes to pay. You better factor that in and you just have to be patient. They are grossly understaffed, but the food is quality. This location is close to the major hospital in town. It's a good solid choice if you're not in a hurry. I felt super sorry for the people who had ordered takeout. Some of them had been waiting in the lobby for over 30 minutes to pick up food that was supposed to be ready at a certain time. The server and cash register are ran by same person and they also have to do take out orders. Her computer crashed and she could not take payments at one point. The most frustrating thing was to watch how many employees were kind of standing around with no tasks and a few employees were running around like crazy. Just poor management. read more

The wait person was very nice and kind. I stopped in for breakfast at about 10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday. I ordered a western omlete with home fries. The fillings for the omlete were dry and the omlete itself was rubbery. The home fries were wayyyyy over-done. I sent the hash browns back. The next order was slightly better, but still over-done. It was also very slow to check out. No one was staffing the front when I came in or when I left. I won't return for breakfast, that's for sure. read more

Last week we stopped by for lunch and enjoyed our meal, but I'm here to tell you about something they offer that really worked great. Wednesday was our family Easter dinner and to be honest was not looking forward to cooking and the mess that goes with it. There on our table was Bob Evens flyer offering several take home meal plans. We ordered the meal for that served 10 people for our group of 6. I picked it up on Wednesday in a large cooked cardboard box with everything and I mean every thing in it. Turkey, ham, mash potatoes and gravy, rolls, Mac and cheese, green beans and two pies and banana bread. Took it home warmed everything once everyone arrived and eat like kings. Went there on 7/18/2024 with my aunt. Our orders were wrong, I had ordered a 3 egg over easy breakfast and received 2 eggs that were broken and cooked. I had to send those back and tell them not to forget the 3rd OVER EASY EGG. My aunt ordered a 2 egg over easy breakfast and had to send one of her eggs back because it was overcooked. My biscuits and gravy had a hair in it, the food was piss warm and we just did not enjoy it. No one came around offering drink refills, so I sat eating my ice. The last few times I have been here, I wasn't too happy with Bob Evans. Things have changed. Maybe they read my review. I came to eat here in several months. In the past, the wait to be seated was 10-15 minutes, because they were busy with mobile and catering orders, and they didn't have enough help. Not this time. We were seated quickly. We placed our order quickly. We got our food quickly. It was all delicious! I ordered the All American BLT, French Fries, and Diet Pepsi. I have ordered this before, and it was still good. As a store and a company, my family and I are very dissatisfied and disappointed. Bob Evans sells their gift cards online (E card and physical cards), yet somehow their website does not accept the gift cards they sell?! So my parents purchased a $50 gift card for each of their children this year, for Easter. Since we are unable to be together due to COVID quarantine, their idea was to pay for each of us to purchase Easter dinner from bob Evans with the gift cards. However this was for not since the website doesn't accept the cards they purchased. So I waited until the store itself opened to call in my order for curbside pick up or delivery, and was told that the restaurant itself could not accept the gift cards?! Sooooo.. what is the intended use for these gift cards exactly? Seems as though my parents had mistakenly purchased gift cards from a company who's intension was theft.. if you take their money and allow us no way to redeem the gift card, that is indeed T H E F T. When my I informed my mother of this issue this morning, she then called our local store who advised her as well that their system "was not set up to take gift cards"...? Then simply said "I'm sorry". No other options offered. So poor planning as a company, meets poor customer service as a whole... how wonderful. After Easter was effectively ruined for three families due to this UNBELIEVABLE oversight and poor service, it's safe to say our family will no longer be shopping/ dining with Bob Evans. For a company that boasts owning and operating "nearly 500 locations in 18 states" it seems purely negligent to have not rectified the online ordering service and adding an area to redeem their brand gift cards through this COVID-19 issue, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE EASTER- KNOWING nearly everyone in the areas of their "nearly 500 stores" would be ordering online for Easter. (Our family can't be the only that has had this horrendous inconvenience today). Since the gift cards are not redeemable, I believe Bob Evans owes my parents a $150 refund. read more

The wait was minimal. Wait staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. Waitress didnt write down our order, was from memory so of course my order was a little wrong. Asked for home fries, got hash browns. Waitress apologized and delivered home fries. Unfortunately who ever is doing the cooking doesnt taste them at all. Not flavored and the home fries were uncooked potatoes. Not sure if they were rushed due to the mistake, but I couldnt eat them. Also they have sea salt cranks that give you little salt pebbles on your food. Not a fave of mine. I would go back at a much later date, but wont order anything that comes with potatoes. read more

Fast forward to an exaggerated 6 hours later as she was chatty Kathy-ing it up with that other table. We got our drinks. We ordered the candied bacon starter treat, bc it's candied bacon, who passes that up? We waited FOR-EV-ER for our meal. Mass confusion in the kitchen. Those in the kitchen were ordered to scrape cooked food on plates and put that on other plates to correct the order. Fine, whatever. So, finally our meals arrived. Hallelujah. Meals were cold. Presumably from transfer to transfer of various wrong orders. Mine came with a side salad with delicious Greek goddess dressing. Yummm! If only that's what I received. I instead got aged fruit similar to our waitress. But wait... where's our candied bacon? Had to hunt down our waitress yet again. We knew where she was though. At the "popular" elderly table. Finally got our candied bacon. Served in a mason jar. Cold, rubbery, bacon in a mason jar covered in a white gelatinous substance. Possibly lard, possibly the faint hint of "candy. Perhaps it was a "special sauce." Either way, I'm no wilting flower so I gave it the ole college try. Barf. Couldn't even finish the bite. Words cannot describe. I needed something to wash this crap down with. But where's our waitress Martha Washington? You guessed it, at the popular old folks table... sigh... we flagged down the manager and just asked for some more to drink. So first let me say that the staff here is incredibly accommodating and nice. Me and my boyfriend never seem like we plan everything so we showed up here for dinner New Years Day about five minutes before close and they served us graciously. This restaurant is geared more towards the breakfast/lunch crowd I think. The breakfast menu is extensive and served all day. Burgers, salads and some comfort food type sandwiches round out the lunch menu. Dinner entrees are what I refer to as American traditional comfort/diner fare. Think fried chicken, roast turkey dinners and pot roast all served with plenty of options for starchy sides cause no one wants the broccoli when there's Mac and cheese. I had a single grilled chicken breast which was rubbery and mostly tasteless with steamed broccoli (hey I tried) and the Mac and cheese (pretty sure this comes out of a bag but it's edible). My bf had a fried chicken sandwich with fries and coleslaw, all of which he said were good. I tried the coleslaw and it had more taste than anything I had. Overall it was edible and we were starving so it did the trick. I'd stick with breakfast here as it seems to be their specialty. read more

Always enjoy the food but declining service seems to be a trend for most Bob Evans restaurants. We stood at the hostess desk for about four minutes before a employee began to walk towards us, stopped and then placed their finger in the air to tell us one moment. She then proceeded to walk away, then returned to the hostess stand stating "I guess I need to put your name on the guestbook", and then proceeded to have us take a seat. There are plenty of open tables and about five or six servers working but yet we had to wait for a table. Our wait was about 15 minutes or so, and then we were finally taken to a table. My review is totally unbiased because I'm new to this location. I was passing through Richmond and stopped here for a lunch. My experience was lovely. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, so service seemed to come fairly quick. My waitress was Charlet, and her soft spoken midwestern demeanor was lovely. My order arrived shortly and it was hot and fresh. I was very happy with the cleanliness and warm atmosphere here. The floor was kept swept and clean, and tables were quickly bussed between guests. If you're considering having a meal here, I recommend it. It's close to the highway and while sometimes slowish - the service quality is excellent. read more

They are fine if you don't mind having to remind your waitress several times that she forgot several things. She will still only bring them one at a time. They seem to have just one guy working in the kitchen other than at lunch. He does one order at a time which results in your spouse being half done while you haven't gotten anything other than a glass of water. We ordered dinner to go last night and after getting home with it found they had forgotten half of it. Maybe it's my fault for not counting but then I shouldn't have to. This was my first time ever at a Bob Evan's restaurant. I'm from Alabama and we don't have them this far south. It kinda reminded me somewhat of an IHOP with a more homey feel to it. The restaurant was super clean!! Had an early breakfast there and it was the only place in yankeeland, where I was able to find a decent glass of sweet iced tea. The breakfast was quite good. Their oatmeal looked yummy, but I ended up with bisquits and gravy, with scrambled eggs and sausage links. Very filling and tasty! Where do I begin? Bob Evans has very poor service. Every time I've attempted to eat there, it's taken forever to get service. Once I finally have service, it takes twice as long to get my drink. Also, forget about getting food in a timely fashion. Speaking of the food, it's very dull. There is a lack of flavor and variety. It tastes no better than what I make for myself at home. I hate to give this low review, as I have eaten here often over the past several years and had many good meals and consistently great service. However, out of my last ten visits, three have been huge disappointments. My last meal here(meaning most recent and final) was an omelet. The egg had spread out on the grill to a sixteenth of an inch in thickness. It then sat there until it was completely overcooked and then folded over. The only discernible flavor that remained was that of the grill and oil... disgusting. I had had similar scrambled eggs a couple weeks before, poured onto the grill, spreading to a thickness of a page of their menu, then chopped up with the spatula. Then I thought back to the flounder I'd had here the previous month, and realized that its thinness and flavorlessness were also the result of mistreatment on the grill. Had the manager come by, I would have told her about the omelet, but ever since Max left, I don't get much indication that the managers get involved much in what comes out of the kitchen. read more
