    2/2 of a mojo sandwich!!

Accommodating staff (opened the patio so we could sit outside!) Great service being the only ones on the patio. On top of all that, DELICIOUS meaty pork sandwiches. The Mojo sandwich was delicious!!! All my favorites in one sandwich! BBQ beans hot and delicious!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow! If you want to step back in time & explore a beautiful old firehouse & have some amazing bbq while you do it, this is the place you've been looking for![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is such a neat place to experience, from the old fireman's pole to where they stored the horses, it's definitely cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was awesome with a lot of info about the business and building. We loved hearing the history of it all! The bbq was delicious to boot, so all round a great place to visit while in the area! We just loved it!

Stopped in after a day on the chocolate trail. We were seated right away, due to the off time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The building is a historic building in the depot district of Richmond.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I landed on the brisket dinner with scalloped cabbage and green beans, my sister had pulled pork with cheesy potatoes. My brisket didn't have the smoke ring and was a bit dry but I liked the peppery crust and smoky flavor. I did need to use a lot of their bbq sauce, which luckily, was quite good. The mild and sweet were on the table and the server offered to bring the hot stuff, which is what I like. The sides were good, with the scalloped cabbage a really interesting option. It was my favorite part of my lunch! The pulled pork looked good and the cheesy potatoes super cheesy. Portions were generous especially considering the pricing. I was also happy they served Coke Zero. Our server was really good, especially considering she had the entire room herself. Having been to Texas quite a lot barbecue is a tough one for me. I would likely return if I was in the area but would consider getting something different.

Passing through Richmond, IN area as we travel in our Coach. Stopped in for lunch. Had a crowd but not super busy. Good vibe inside with the Fireman decor. We sat at the bar... ROWAN was our Bartender. Very friendly young lady. This building is rich with history from 1860. I think the wall of badges, the pictures, murals & tin ceilings are very cool. Couple bar stools were on a fire hydrant.... Too funny. They still have the well worn fire pole... probably original. They are having music tonight. We ordered a brisket sandwich with coleslaw to split. Enough for both of us. Brisket was tender, moist and great with the sweet BBQ sauce on it. The Coleslaw was creamy and everything was delicious!! Definitely would eat here again.

Having attended seminary in the Richmond area, I've long been a fan of this part of the state. While seminary is now down, I find myself visiting here semi-regularly because of friends who now live in the area and a friend who serves as a pastor here. The Firehouse BBQ & Blues is definitely a preferred joint located in Richmond's historic depot district. It's a beautiful setting inside and out with a delightful patio, dog friendly, during better weather. In case it's not obvious, The Firehouse emphasizes both quality BBQ and live music (not just blues, though there's definitely a lot of blues). This is slow-cooked, wood-smoked BBQ. The menu emphasizes BBQ, of course, but there are other options including a pretty awesome pizza. You can get ribs, chicken, pulled pork, BBQ, beef brisket, tacos, wraps, smoked sausage, cheesesteak, a few appetizers, soups, some unique potato combinations, salads, and there is a kids' menu. There's also a handful of dessert options - I recommend the peanut butter pie. Delish. They serve Coke products and do have iced tea options. The Firehouse is closed on Sundays. They have live music pretty regularly - the website is a good source of info, though for truly current stuff you may want to check their Facebook page. Fun facts: This building really is a Civil War era building in Richmond and was a firehouse for around 70 years. The firehouse theme is throughout the building - Murals and memorabilia, including badges, actual firemen uniforms, and other nostalgic items. You've also got a lot of music-themed items throughout with blues items dominating and references to the former Gennett Records (which was based in Richmond). Is The Firehouse perfectly accessible? Nope. No historic building is for the most part, however, it's super easy to dine here and you can easily both dine and enjoy music here if you have mobility concerns (as I do). I did not try the restrooms and haven't necessarily gone around the place completely enough to give great detail.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is awesome I love the blues/firehouse atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the firehouse Texas potato with a side of Mac. Very tasty food I scraped the pan. The waitress was polite and there when we needed her.

In town for the eclipse, there was a healthy crowd enjoying lunch. Luckily the service was fine and got my meal. Here's the rundown: Brisket Sandwich: A lean cut that was on the dry side but full of smoky flavor. Cheesy Potatoes: The cross-cross of French Fries and Mac & Cheese taste profiles I didn't know I needed. Mild BBQ Sauce: It has a spicy, tangy, and peppery kick. Overall, a solid lunch option in Richmond's Depot District. I enjoyed my meal thoroughly- I wish I could give this a 3.5 rating, as I think it's right in-between a 3 and a 4 star.

very clean restaurant, [[HIGHLIGHT]]went at very slow time[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service was wonderful, the food was great and very reasonably priced. We had the stuffed mushroom, and philly steak sandwiches. Definitely recommend. Took two boxes to go too much food.

Back to Firehouse after a pandemic break. I am happy to say that the food and ambiance has survived. Ambiance: it's a firehouse. It's a blues shrine. The tables and walls educate. No music at the time, though. Would love to listen some time. Service? Wow. Friendly. Super efficient. THE FOOD: Yum. The jalapeño poppers are really delicious and an appetizer. They prime you for the next round. The meat is excellent. Take your smoked pick. Sides can be seasonal (sweet potato casserole or potato). While I am sure they are excellent, how can anyone pass a cabbage casserole. So rare. So wonderful. Mac and cheese were fine. Really good beans, both green and baked. Worth the stop? Heck yeah. Even without the blues.

I cannot say enough good things about this location. The atmosphere and service were fantastic both nights we visited. There is also live music in multiple places which we really enjoyed. The food, so so delicious, especially the potatoes! Really wish this location was closer to us.

I would have left hungry if it hadn't been for the appetizer…read more My dining partner ordered the cheesy Chicago dip, and I ordered the chimichanga. Both appetizers were delicious. The sauce for the chimichangas could have had more of a Southwest cake taste and not a dill taste, but overall, it was delicious. I ordered the beef tallow smash burger with ranch-battered fries. The fries were hot and crispy and had great flavor and texture. On the other hand, the burger was burnt chard and tasted like three full salt shakers were put on it. The bun was not toasted but black and burnt. It was edible. My dining partner ordered a mustard-glazed chicken with roasted potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes and broccoli were delicious, but the mustard sauce tasted like a bottle of mustard that had been opened and dumped on the chicken. Again, this meal was edible. She then ordered shrimp tacos, which came out nicely presented and tasted fairly well. The shrimp was grilled, but it was also kind of burnt. Whoever the kitchen staff is does not need to be cooking in the kitchen. They did a horrible job, a poor representation of this beautifully decorated, excellent-location restaurant. The wait staff was personable and charming. She had multiple tables, so getting refills was difficult, but when we had her attention, she made the experience quite pleasant.

The tiny city of Greenville seems to be trying hard to create an atmosphere of urban sophistication…read morein its little downtown. They've accomplished this with the Merchant House. Inside you get the brick wall warehouse feel and it's not phony. The bar is well stocked. If you like the minimalist feel you may enjoy sitting on backless round stools, but if not, this makes the bar not a place to linger. That's too bad as it's a beauty otherwise. The dining room offers some seats in the window where you can people watch while dining. It did get a little chilly though. There is an open second floor seating area for busy times. I was delighted with the trendy and thoughtfully curated cocktail list, and that Cranberry Limoncello refresher was perfect. The menu is chef driven and very creative- unique twists like rice krispies in the batter of the Monte Cristo, and Prime Rib on the Poutine. I really liked the Monte but would have loved it with some syrup, sorry I didn't ask. Husband had the Poutine, I got a taste of course and that meaty flavor just permeated the waffle fries perfectly. But they had me at Scotch Eggs. I don't think those can be had anywhere else in a three county radius. They were masterfully executed, so good that we got another order to go. Service was polite and professional, but it was incredibly rushed. So much so that it knocks off a star. Hope that was an exception or off-day for the waiter, who was otherwise polite and knowledgeable. I know I'll be back before long.
