The ambiance of Cafe Beatrice is very nice. Prices are just luxury. The servers are nice. I got an everything bagel and it took a while for them to cut it which was weird. I didn't get a toasted. I didn't even opt to get cream cheese because they were charging $2 for cream cheese which is absolutely robbery. I told them you know what I'm not getting cream cheese. I'll just go to dunkin' donuts and get it for free there. So after I saw the pitiful amount of hardly anything on my everything bagel I went to Dunkin and got some munchkins and they threw in some cream cheese and a knife for me for free. I would not go back to Cafe Beatrice for a bagel. This bagel has nothing on it and I'm going to have to use my everything seasoning at home just to get the everything experience that I want. There are other bakery items looked really intense. Nothing was simple. They only have a super chocolatey croissant some mushroom looking pastry covered in sugar. I don't know. There's a lot of stuff that I just didn't recognize and wouldn't even want to try because it just looks too crazy. I wish they had simple things that people want to eat in the morning like an almond croissant a regular croissant.. They had a cool sandwich menu and I'm a little nervous to try it because everything is like 14 or $15 and I'm not sure how much I want to pay for a gentrified Cubano and although I like this business, it's just very much for the people who live in the luxury housing around. On vacation with some friends and this was within walking distance from where we were staying. The space was super cute with a lot of outdoor patio seating. With that being said, for the amount of staff they had on, they could have cleaned up the tables. There were lots of crumbs and coffee residue on the indoor tables. I asked for a Dirty Chai latte and got a little scoff and then when the coffee came out, it wasn't even a dirty chai. I will say the pastries and sandwiches were delicious. And even though I ended up with just a regular latte it was tasty. The higher rating was for the actual food and beverage. This cafe was a highlight of my trip to Boston. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions about their pastries and drinks. The cappuccino and espresso and tonic I got were fantastic and the orange monkey bread was one of the best things I ate in Boston, seriously one of the best pastries I've had in a long time. I love this cafe so much! I've added it into my regular rotation of cafes to visit. I love the staff, Raya and Sebastian are the ones I see the most and they make you feel so welcomed! I love their honesty and they always check to make sure of the ingredients when they get a new item on the menu (I have multiple food allergies). They've also recently added new seating by the fireplace. The bigger tables and wide chairs are so comfortable for working from the cafe or long hang outs with friends. If you are in Cambridge this is a must for a place to visit!! read more

I've now had a chance to try a couple other items on the menu. Their breakfast sandwich is huge and so so tasty!! I really loved their Muenster and sausage sandwich on brioche buns, and will try their bacon cheddar variation next! They also have this breakfast egg pastry (see my photos) which has an egg right in the middle. The worker told me it's like an adult bagel bite, and guess what?! He was totally right. It was so delicious I previously gave cafe Beatrice a four stars, knocking one off only because of the price of the pastries. Upon more thought and visits, I am updating my review to five stars. The pastries are very difficult to make and honestly I don't feel as if any Joe Schmoe could make it at home. It takes a certain kind of finesse! This was a random and pleasant find one Sunday on an impromptu walk. So happy we found it in this developing area. The pastries were phenomenal. Everything we ate was good. The oat milk latte was also delicious. The area was nice, esp on a cool sunny day. The construction wasn't great but there's nothing they can do about that! Love coming here! Everything I've had here is honestly 10/10 which I'm shocked everything is a banger. I would come for lunch usually because it's close to work and always would get the BLT but I recently tried the chicken Caesar wrap and there's no going back. It has a perfect hint of garlic wow and there's croutons. I also tried dinner here for the first time and had the friend chicken sandwich and it was so crispy and so juice. This is one of my favorite spots to read. The facility is newly built and very clean. The coffee is pretty good too, but the food is okay. There are a lot of tables to do work in the front and back; although I'm not sure if the back is part of the cafe or not. For now, it seems to be okay to sit there. Upstairs is a restaurant, and there is patio seating. Besides the cafe and restaurant, I don't think there is anything else around the building or area. Parking was very difficult to find. There are only a few spots, and it's 2 hour street parking. read more

We were looking for a place close to our hotel for breakfast and this was walkable from The Marlowe. They have plenty of outdoor seating. We had bagels, overnight oats and some kind of giant kouign amann. All were fresh and delicious. The over night oats had chia, dried cherries and some seed mix on top. Bagels were huge. I got lucky and arrived before the big rush and snagged the only booth. The back room is more like fancy coffee shop with some arm chairs, but had some wasted space in my opinion and could be used for seating so people can sit and relax. The building is next to a beautiful stretch of grass that's right by a bike path - perfect for a picnic on warmer days. For some reason the other kouign amann I've tried has been very buttery and rich but this felt almost lighter? The layers are crazy and the maple flavor shines, and the sugar dusting on the outside adds a good texture. I walked in here and was immediately surrounded by the construction workers from all the nearby projects. It was a great feeling in there on a Friday morning. The process for ordering is very organized. You go up to the counter and order with your name and they put the bag of food and coffee on the table when it's ready. I went up to order and panicked... The Passion Fruit Brioche is now to this day the best pastry I have ever eaten. So full of flavor! Crispy and soft pastry with crunchy pits of sugar. The gooey center was packed with passion fruit flavor. My husband also LOVED his cinnamon bun reporting he found it both sweet and a little salty. And lastly the chocolate croissant was excellent even though I prefer mine to be warm it was flaky on the outside and chewy at the center with good quality and tasty chocolate. Bagel is pretty good but probably nothing like you'll get in New York City. Salmon bagel was yummy too - the salmon really cuts through and the tomato compliments it well. Cream cheese was a but plain though. Cinnamon bun has a really good frosting. The bun itself is interesting though. It's flaky and more like a croissant texture but still good. I would say the bun as a whole is probably too sweet for me though. There were hints of saltiness which was nice - wish there was more of that and less sweetness.
