The cutest cafe perfect for a chill weekend afternoon or coffee date! Ordered two sandwiches: the ham one which was a bit heavy on the mustard, and the breakfast sandwich (on Brioche) which is maybe one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in Boston. Also got an everything bagel with onion/chive cream cheese which was delicious and super filling. We ordered a few pastries as well... absolutely recommend the Earl Grey Cookie which tasted just like Frosted Flakes cereal. Topped everything off with an iced coffee which was good, though I've had much better. Ordered a large but it was actually the size of a medium. Overall Beatrice has a fantastic atmosphere and incredible sandwiches. The pastries were good, though perhaps a little overrated... I prefer a place like Flour for a good ol' box of pastries and cup of coffee. read more

Had a nice afternoon brunch here--we ordered a number of their pastries, as well as two sandwiches (Sweet Potato, and the Zucchini.) Both were good, but their pastries were far better. The lattes were average as well. I found chai brulee puff to be very unique, both in texture and in taste. While I wouldn't see myself craving it on a normal day, it's a fun baked item to share with friends and family looking for something "new." The earl gray cookie was my second favorite, and the consistency--chewey in the middle and crunchy on the edges--was fantastic. I'd originally wanted the Salted Toffee Chocolate Chip, but unfortunately they were out... However, the earl gray didn't disappoint. I'm not too sure why the cinnamon roll is a best seller. Though the dough tastes great, it didn't taste better than the average Cinnabon. Aesthetics of both the bakery and the goods are nice, and the seating was comfortable. It's located in an up and coming part of town, so parking was free & easy. Definitely recommend for changing pace of a brunch. I hope to try out their other items sometime soon. read more

Wish I found this spot sooner. We came to Boston for a quick weekend getaway and stayed outside of the city at the Hampton Inn nearby. This place is walking distance and worth every penny compared to the complimentary breakfast served at the hotel. I forgot to take pics but everything looked beautiful and fresh, and tasted Amazing! We got the breakfast sandwich on a brioche and lox/cream cheese everything bagel. Lox was smoked and so tasty - my toddler ate half my bagel minus the lox. We also got an Americano and their seasonal spring latte (something with lavender). Will definitely be a go to on our trips to the city. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. One callout is the wait for food is a bit long if you'relookig to grab and go (took maybe 5-10 minutes for our food), but the end result was worth the wait if you have time. read more

Living in Cambridge and decided to finally check out the new food places near the new Lechmere green line station. Walking in this place was bright and inviting but other than that it was a disappointment. Let's start with the menu. The selection of sandwiches should NOT all be the same price. I have worked in the food industry for over 20yrs and know costs of items. At least other selections seemed price appropriate. The service. We were greeted with a fairly friendly person but should have known a little more about the menu when we had questions. We also thought that are food would be brought to us vs having are name called to come and get it. The place wasn't full, maybe little less than 1/2. Our table was not clean nor was one next to us. It wasn't filthy but there were visible crumbs and some paper wrappers. We ordered 2 sandwiches and then waited and waited and waited. Over 15mins went by for 2 sandwiches. And last the food. The sourdough bread was very tasty and the cheese used equally tasty but the insides were just so so. We had the zucchini n mushroom where the veggies lacked seasoning so if not for the cheese it would have been very bland. We also had the ham n cheese, just lacking again. Also the mustard they use was very spicy but not indicated as such. Also we ordered an ice tea. A pet peeve of mine is getting a beverage with the cup sticky or just sloppy. Our ice tea had at least a tablespoon of tea on top of the cover and was sticky to touch. A little more care on that would be nice for a $5 ice tea. Overall we won't be going back. Overpriced, not the best service/cleanliness and nothing special about the sandwiches we had. As always don't take my word and give it a try yourself. read more

I first tried pastries from Cafe Beatrice at a local cafe called Cicada. Once I learned their source, I began ordering or picking up pastries there for treats especially for friends' get togethers. I am not a baker but I love how their pastries are both crispy-on-the-outside, and light-&-soft-on-the-inside. the fruit fillings and cheese are not overly sweet. I especially like their kouign amann and passionfruit brioche. Cafe Beatrice is my "go to" place for special baked treats. Tried cafe Beatrice today for the first time, after following their gorgeous Instagram. (yes, I eat with my eyes) I originally came for the pastries but found them to be quite pricey at $6-8 each. Ended up trying the mocha, bacon and cheddar egg sandwich, and took home a loaf of ciabatta. I'd say the sandwich was a good portion for the price, and tasty. The ciabatta was also very delicious. The mocha, however, lacked flavor of coffee, tasting only of chocolate - a bit underwhelming. Overall, enjoyed it! Never heard of cambridge crossing before, and was honestly just looking for a cup of coffee, but figured I'd give this place a try First of all, the area is super cool, and it's under construction. This makes it seem pretty quiet as far as the amount of people go, it's undiscovered! But that will change. The vibe was dope, very modern and hip, kinda like you'd expect a boutique hotel & coffee shop would be. The food and coffee? Honestly really freakin good. Big portion and at a fair price. If pastries are your thing, they have a pretty dope pastry section and apparently their own pastry chef, I believe it. Try this place out, if you don't believe me, look at the photos of this food.... the breakfast sandwich is egg, pastrami, cheese, 1000 island, and a buttery brioche. After seeing all of the great reviews, I went to check this place out 2 weeks ago, and unfortunately was very underwhelmed by Cafe Beatrice. The fig pastry was the highlight of the meal, being incredibly fresh, light, and beautifully presented. The coffee was average tasting, but I was mostly disappointed by the lack of care/thought in the sandwich. The bread on the chicken salad sandwich was stale and crumbling as I ate it, the chicken salad itself was pretty bland, the sandwich was not cut, and the cardboard to-go box it was served in made it inconvenient to eat. While each of these things alone might not have warranted a 3-star rating, the combination of it all left me disappointed by a cafe I really wanted to like. read more

The food and ambiance here are all wonderful! They serve very hearty breakfast sandwiches & salads and have a GREAT selection of pastries that are executed at 99th percentile quality. If you've been to Neighbor Bakehouse in San Francisco - a top rated bakery in the city - the pastries here are just like those - dense, inventive, and very high quality. My friend got a coffee and said it was very good too! Only cons are that the service is very slow and the location is super super random - it's in an area that's fully under development right now, so there's a construction site everywhere you look. read more

This is a great little local gem, and I love that they opened dangerously close to my apartment. The coffee is delicious, the staff is warm and friendly (even under their masks), their baked goods are insanely delicious, and the breakfast sandwiches are addictive. I love that they're constantly switching up their baked items, keeping a few classics around but trying new seasonal flavors and flaky items so I can try new things. My biggest compliment, though, is that soon after opening they sent a survey asking for feedback. One of the biggest comments was that prices were high. So they actually listened and lowered a bunch of their prices. To really be a part of the community and respond to feedback like that says a lot about their values and commitment to being truly part of the growing Cambridge Crossing neighborhood and I am so glad they're here! read more

An oasis of top notch pastries and coffee in a growing area. The chocolate thimble was excellent, very decadent and perfect to share. The kouign amann was a wonderful texture, crispy outside and flaky/soft inside. There is limited distanced seating inside. On a weekday morning was able to find an indoor place to sit and eat. I LOVE Cafe Beatrice - it is one of the greatest discoveries my sister has made. My bf and I mainly go for their coffee - they have a seasonal blueberry syrup that I recommend if you're into fruity syrups. They also have their seasonal lattes - spiced latte, white chocolate blueberry, salted caramel, peppermint mocha - to name a few. There has been a line every time I walked in to pick up my online order, so if you are thinking of grabbing a coffee and running errands, maybe online ordering would be better. They have an earl grey sugar cookie which is delicious - the outside is crispy with sugar crystals and the inside is soft and chewy. I've ordered their Cuban sandwich before, it's pretty solid and there is a good cheese pull. They're also fancy enough that they have water on tap, but also SPARKLING WATER on tap. Like what?! Maybe I'm just here for that...just kidding. I look forward for my Cafe Beatrice coffee runs, that happen maybe every week to every other week.
