Had the brownie for dessert which was also delicious and much larger than I was expecting. Service was excellent, our server was very knowledgeable and tried to make the experience as authentic as possible for us, however keep in mind we went at a slower time. Ambiance is very average, but the restaurant is nice inside and well kept. We went around 2pm so it was very quite but I could see this being a popular spot for dinner due to the lack of restaurants in that area. I had researched places to eat and found Lot A as it is an Italian -style restaurant. The pictures online were very enticing as was the description of the food. We started off with Parmesan Polenta Bites House fried polenta bites, parmesan, spicy tomato sauce. Tasty though spicy might be too big of a word for the dipping sauce, a welcomed change from the expected bread. I had the Caesar Salad: Whole romaine leaves, creamy Caesar dressing, bacon bits, focaccia croutons, crispy capers, shaved parmesan, roasted garlic . I don't care for bacon on this type of salad and love It when I am treated to anchovies. The fried capers were a nice touch, but not a big fan of the creamy dressing as a lighter dressing helps when you still have the main course ahead of you. I had, for dinner: Ricotta & Tomato Campanelle Campanelle, fresh basil, ricotta, parmesan, tomato sauce. Thought I had spaghetti and added chicken. The sauce was very light without much flavor and the chicken was not seasoned and just sliced and cooked. I am wondering if this dish would be better served in a marinara sauce as the ricotta cheese is flat against a bland sauce. I did not finish my dinner because it was simply bland. Dessert was disappointing because I was looking forward to a chocolate dessert, but they were all gluten-free. This is very nice to see for those with celiac disease, but disappointing for me and so we all took a pass on dessert. I also had the Italian Mule drink which was refreshing and delightful and not overwhelming with an alcohol weight. Our server was nice and mostly prompt. Ilianao.?? I have to say this: when servers ask about the food and service in a plural fashion: are we liking the food, did we want to have dessert, it throws me off and is a bit off putting. Probably one of the best pasta restaurants we've ever gone to. The pasta was so amazing because it was freshly made in the morning and the sauces were also fresh and very tasty. Service was friendly and though our food took awhile to be prepared it was worth it. The restaurant itself has a modern feel and is much nicer than what one would expect in a strip mall. The prices were also reasonable considering the quality. We ordered: Pesto Seafood Tagliatelle Spaghetti & Wagyu Meatballs Butternut Squash Campanelle plus Tofu Butternut Squash & Goat Cheese Salad (Goat Cheese on the side) Tiramisu 8pc Polenta I ordered the Campanelle but ended up switching with my wife who ordered the Tagliatelle because she wanted more acid. On holiday and very hungry, we were craving Italian cuisine after a long day of walking and outdoor activity. We found Lot 1 Pasta Bar on Yelp and made a reservation through open table. To our surprise the restaurant was in a strip mall facing a shoe store with a makeshift patio in the parking lot set up for outside dining. We decided even though the view was terrible we would give it a try. The pasta was cooked al dente and was perfect on texture. The pasta plain would have been fine but the Issue here was both of our pasta plates were underwhelming on spice and sauce and overall flavor. Pretty much just flavorless pasta for the $23-$28 price range for each plate. We ordered a side of breadsticks for $10.50 and had 1 glass of wine each and the bill was close to $100 for 2 people. Felt for what we had, it just wasn't worth the money. I wanted to eat what I could and left without saying a word. The chicken in the pasta dish was overcooked and bland. The "pesto" sauce was a lackluster taste that made me sad. we were in Victoria for 3 evenings and this was by far the most disappointing meal for the most money. . On the positive side the hostess, the server, and the staff were really friendly and nice and service was great. Would not return based on food taste and price for the meal. read more

Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and we got there at the beginning of happy hour so it was slow but when we left it got very busy. The food took a little longer as with the bill but the quality of service and food made up for it. The pasta was the best pasta I've ever had hands down. They make it daily, I had to eat it slow to savor every bite. We came for their half price pasta and wine (after 9:00pm, dine in only). Wine on tap is the only ones you get half off. Dropped in on a late Saturday evening after some swing dancing. We were worried about the time (we came in at 11:30pm) but they sat us without a problem. The menu is short and sweet. Starters, salads and house made pasta. There's half a dozen types of pastas to choose from. They have a monthly fresh sheet special menu. - Montelvini merlot/cabernet/sangiovese ($3.50 for 5oz) - Mt. Boucherie pinot gris ($3.75 for 5oz) - Montelvini prosecco ($3.50 for 5oz) - Moroccan chicken rigatoni ($6.00) - chicken, red pepper, artichokes, onion, cashews, coconut milk and cilantro. Not bad for a fusion dish. Liked the spiced. This was a small size which was a huge portion. I ate all of mine but the other two had leftovers for the next day. - Pesto chicken radiatori ($6.50) - chicken, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, onions, basil pesto cream and parmesan. Pesto is always good in my books. Nice chunks of artichoke. The sauce was a bit liquified; would have preferred it to be thicker. - Four cheese rigatoni ($6.50) - mushrooms, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, jalapeño, cream, gruyere, fontina, aged cheddar and parmesan. First off, have been customers of Lot 1 for years. Normally loved it and great quality especially for reasonable prices. Also very understanding of Covid pressures. However lately we have had at least one meal every time that has been completely bland. I mean like no taste. Very disappointing and with Covid takeout there's not much you can do but hope for better the next time. Unfortunately for the last month or so, its consistent disappointing. May start to affect giving another chance for a while. Could be new kitchen staff or???? But bland boring pasta (especially for seafood pasta) is not what you want for about $25 plus drinks and tip. First of all let me tell you in 2024 the food here was amazing for our group of 20 people. So we booked again in 2025. Well this was a totally different experience. If your a party of 4 or less you are in luck but any more and the staff is totally overwhelmed. I understand it's a hard job to handle a group of 20 but to give us a single server is RIDICULOUS! Our meals were being served before our appetizers and some of our appetizers never did arrive. Our food was sub par at best. Half or more of the food was sent back as it was cold or there was no sauce at all. Totally do NOT recommend the seafood linguine unless you like your pasta bland with very little seafood and the noodles were in clumps. The only diner that was pleased with their dish ordered a salad. We were soooo disappointed after having 3 servers and excellent food in 2023. Needless to say we will NOT be going back. Oh and did I happen to mention they told us to get out at the end of our meal as we were exiting. REALLY! I don't expect for this restaurant to be around long as they are rude and must have a different manager, owner, and kitchen staff because it definitely is not a great dining experience. When I told the person who brought the food that we hadn't received our drinks, she advised she would tell our server/bartender. The drinks arrived about halfway through dinner, so we weren't even able to finish them. We were told that there had been a glass breakage at the bar that needed to be cleaned up, hence the delay. These things happen but nobody bothered to communicate with us, until I asked. Caesar salad had virtually no dressing on it, if any. Wife and I traveling from the states to tour Victoria had a lovely early dinner on a Saturday night.Kieran Was our server and could not him been nicer or more professional. He made some good recommendations from the menu and provided excellent service. Wife and I both got the Wagu meatballs and spaghetti. Kieran told us that all of the pasta is fresh made daily and our spaghetti had a nice bite to it but you only get with fresh spaghetti. The three large meatballs were tasty but I think they could have been improved with the addition of some other meats. The sauce was a tad bit tangy for my taste but my wife loved it and the serving was large enough that we both took half of it home. The breadsticks seemed a bit pricey but they were homemade and served with fresh rosemary and butter on the sticks and they were excellent. We were also comped an order of polenta bites that were excellent. When we enter the restaurant at 5:30 there were lots of open tables but when we left at 6:45 and there was a line to get in plus people picking up carry out. The bread sticks are something else out of this world- you must get it and especially if you are a cheese lover, or else you will be sad when you see the other table get it, then you order it, and have to watch them eat it until your own order comes. The pastas were amazing! I loved it. I would recommend asking the servers which pastas are best paired with the dish that you choose though. I loved the mushroom fungi one and the shrimp carbannaro - pick the bow tie or twisty pastas ( I don't know the names haha). I loved them the best. The chicken lemon pasta was delicious as well. I can't wait to go back for the mushroom one as that was my favorite and I am counting the days I am back on the island again. Was craving pasta in Victoria so my cousin decided to take me here! This cute little pasta bar is tucked away hidden in a little strip mall. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us right away and seated us- she was not shy and told us all the specials and grabbed us drinks ASAP. I decided to get the Lot 62 , the creamy chicken but I replaced it with Buccatini. There were 2 sizes to choose from, a small and a large and wow the small size ($12) was way more than enough for my stomach to handle. The creamy chicken pasta was very flavourful and the house made pasta's texture was great - it was chewy and not too soft. I have been away for about 3 months with work, and I come back to this!!! What the heck has Lot 1 done. Is it trying to drive away customers? We used to come for the half price pasta after 0pm. There was more than enough sauce which i thought was perfectly seasoned with fresh peppercorn at request. It didnt seem like it was sitting under a warmer.
