House BLT Sandwich was a Good Mouthful
Joe S.

I'm not much of a breakfast person, but wanted to see what this place was all about. It's pretty much "on" the UCF campus (not really, but in the plaza across Alabama), so it got fairly busy fairly early. I ordered the House BLT and it was pretty good and hefty. It could have been toasted a bit more, but it was a nice sandwich, and the fries were fresh too (always a plus as cold fries are the worst). The staff was friendly although it was a bit hectic with all of the college students dining there. I'd call them kids, but then I'd sound old!

Went for breakfast with my son. First folks in at opening. I ordered an omelette and it was pretty good. The bread was multi grain toast but it was very dry although they slapped some butter on it and not really toasted well. However the highlight was the home fries. Crunchy exterior soft interior. We actually asked f they were air fried. Very good. Son wanted biscuits and gravy but at opening they had no biscuits and it would be 35 minutes. How does this happen? The interior is spacious and airy.

Boston omelet

Nice! Perfect namesake, cute little place with cutely shaped omelets. I love their lobster omelet, though I'd get the lobster bisque on the side, a little salty. Good coffee, great service - fast, fresh, and as healthy or not as you'd like! Definitely would venture here again if I ever end up in the area for some breakfast.

This was supposed to be a Rattatouille Fritta with jalapeños.

I've been raving about this place to anyone who'd listen. On this day, I ordered a Rattatouille Frittata with jalapeños and received this. Not sure what that is on top of the frittatta, it's not part of the ingredients and I don't recall asking for it. It was not busy when I placed the order but the Cook was extra nice to bring me my order instead of the server who took my order. #SayLess

Avocado toast

Food was great. We all got variety of items. Avocado toast was satisfying with balsamic, side salad and egg of choice. Lobster bisque meh. Breakfast good. Service was a little slow and lacking.

Delicious omelet!

I was looking for a breakfast spot near UCF and came across Omelet Bar. It was a busy morning but got seated pretty quickly! I really liked the overall diner atmosphere of the place. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. While there were a lot of great menu options, I had to go with an omelet, and it did not disappoint. They have a few signature omelets but I went with the build your own. Everything tasted fresh and fantastic! They also had a great deal on mimosas during the weekend, which was also a nice addition to the meal. I would definitely go back again!

First time here and I really enjoyed it! The service was excellent, and our waitress was very attentive. I did a BYO omelette that was absolutely delicious. I really liked the open kitchen concept, so you could see everything going on. They also have a great drink menu, and serve mimosas by the carafe! It was busy, but it was a Sunday morning, and I only ended up waiting about 10 minutes for a table. Will definitely be back to visit!

Eggs benedict

Ordered the wrong thing I guess. Can no one get eggs Benedict right? It's either overdone or underdone. Waitress was pleasant but I can see why there's no crowd on a Saturday morning!

They have a few nice craft beers on tap and the most amazing hummus platter ever. So many places give you a tiny dollop of hummus, a few crackers and if you're lucky a few cut up carrots. Not here, you get a giant amount of hummus - you get house made lavash - and you get beautiful baby medium sized carrots and all of that is only $8 on happy hour. The hummus is very flavorful with a tiny kick and the lavash is super crunchy with an amazing seasoning on it that reminds me of "everything bagel seasoning". You'll see two different pictures - these were taken a year or more apart but you can see things have barely changed. You always get the amazing crackers and carrots and a huge amount of hummus. They also have a few great wines by the glass on happy hour, some yummy sliders, and now a pepperoni pizza that looks awesome but I haven't tried yet.

Other than that, the food was great. I sampled a few items of the apps that people ordered. From what I can remember, the truffle fries really stood out. For my entree, I got the chopped elk medium cooked. It was fantastic. Very delicious and almost tasted like a really beefy meatloaf. Not gamey at all. The sauce drizzled on it was so savory. I wished there were more mashed potatoes underneath because those were amazing too. It was also a very big portion. Definitely recommend. Would come back again and try something else or even order that again.

It is actually now a Sally's Diner. We felt so welcomed right away! As we walked through the door several people greeted us and someone told us to pick any table we wanted and she gave us our menus. There were so many great options. But my husband and I both ended up getting a skillet. Food came fairly quickly. It was nice and hot and delicious. You get a choice of bread and our waitress suggested a grilled biscuit (and to pour honey on it) and I loved it! There was a lot of food so I ended up taking leftovers home to enjoy later). I wish I remembered her name, but our waitress was so friendly and attentive to our needs. The diner had a lot of cute decor for Valentine's Day and other nostalgic decor (Elvis Presley and Betty Boop). Everyone greeted us goodbye when we left. We would definitely return!

I asked for a biscuit. Eggs were fine. The home fries and the biscuit tasted the same. Obviously the grill imparted a "flavor" to the home fries and biscuit as both were grilled. This flavor was not good. The crispy bacon was ok. Had black marks on it that I could not u sweat and from cooking. My son's two eggs, half order of biscuits and gravy with bacon he enjoyed. As we were paying I noticed I had ordered the special 7-9 daily for 8.99 but I was charged 10.50. When I asked she said I gave you extra bacon I thought you would want that. At that point I scratched Sally's off the list and will never return. Kinda shady.

The service is honestly the only reason I would give this location a positive rating. Our waiter was nice and would refill our drinks without even asking. I also noticed that the executive chef would bring out the food somtimes to other tables and was very nice. The food unfortunately was a miss for me and expensive. A 6oz steak was 25$$ on their menu. I ordered the wings as an appetizer. They came out super fast but they were dry and lacking in sauce. I ordered the Classic burger. It was lacking in flavor as if it had no salt or seasoning on it and the fries were soggy and rubbery at the same time with no flavor. My parter had the chicken (fried) wrap and it was also soggy and lacking flavor. If you are looking for tavern food, just go to ale house around the corner or chickfila for a chicken wrap. I am very disappointed I doubt I will go a third time.
