I love this place! The coffee and food are great. However, the staff is outstanding! It's definitely one of my favorite places

The big windows on the front give lots of natural light. There wasn't anyone else in the place when we arrived. Got a friendly greeting by the Barista. Ordered my usual London Fog, (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam. The Barista questioned by request for the Lavender. Insisted that London Fogs are made with Blackberry Syrup and not Lavender. Never heard that one before, so I gave it a try. No scones, so I got the Chocolate Chip Muffin. The London Fog came in a nice mug. Not nearly enough foam for my liking. The Blackberry flavor was interesting, but a bit too much, and overwhelmed the tea. The muffin was nice and moist. We were there for about 3 hours, and only 2 other people came during that time. It was easy to have a conversation. But seemed a bit odd (too quiet?).

I was less adventurous and got a red eye with the blueberry casserole that was on special. The blueberry casserole was a delicious muffin base with fresh blueberries and creamy mascarpone filling. Talked a bit with the new owners, they were very friendly. They also own a bakery and feature many of the sweets from their other business. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

My mom knows the owner, Meg, and she is such a wonderful presence!! The storefront itself is so cute, I love that it's in a little house and there's plenty of space inside for sitting, groups, and events! When we came on Saturday there was actually a baby shower happening in the main room and I thought the space was perfect for this. I ordered a glow smoothie, matcha latte, and a carrot muffin. The muffin was delicious - tasted very healthy but also sweet and was the perfect morning treat after a workout. The smoothie was also great and pretty filling. The matcha was amazing. I've had matcha at a few different places in Delafield and have not been super thrilled about them. This one was great and I would 100% recommend it - not too sweet and didn't just taste like oat milk. Meg told us that in order to serve this tea, the matcha company basically had to interview her and instruct her on the best ceremonial practices. I thought that the care the servers put into the matcha was really special. Overall, such a great space to stop by if you're in the area or are in need of a gathering place!! The servers and Meg are wonderful and I definitely recommend.

I would definitely come back because the photos shared by others look good! The worker was very nice! No seating inside where you order. I didn't explore the building but the worker said there was a gift shop/shopping in the same building but to the left side. I wouldn't imagine there are seats in there but there were a couple outside!

It's a converted barn, and from the outside you might actually think that it's still being used. There is parking behind the barn, and some seating outside. (posted signs about Bees, and some places are off limits, but I didn't see any beehives?) The lower level of the barn had been converted/remodeled into a small restaurant space. There are several wooden tables. What is so very suprising was the large selection of home made bakery and pastry items. They all looked fresh and LARGE. I love a good scone, which they had, but they also had a selection of different coffee cakes, and cinnamon rolls. It was a tough choice but I ended up getting the Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake. They also made me a Chai Latte, in a mug. A was a great combination. The coffee cake was a little dry/crumbly (which I like), so it paired well with the hot chai. The place was busy. And from the sound of it, there were lots of regulars. That's always a good sign. Some people ordered breakfast and egg dishes. They all looked goo. It's a nice place, with nice folks, and excellent baked good. I would have preferred a bit more inside seating, but they are working with limited space. The outside could benefit from some better landscaping, and seating areas.

Inside there are different seating areas, and even a fireplace with a couple of chairs. The door opened right to the outside, which can be a little chilly like today, when someone enters/exits. The inside reflects the name, Mercantile and Bean. There are unique items for sale, ranging from honey to candles to apparel items. For me, this space could have been better purposed for additional seating. But I get the idea that they offer what they consider "Artisanal" items for sale. Just not what I want in a coffee shop. Stopped in with a friend for some lunch. It was about half full, and there were mostly individuals or couple seated in the dining area. Got to order right away, and got friendly service the entire time. Got a London Fog Tea Latte, and they did a good job with my order (little vanilla, little lavender, and extra foam). They also left the tea bags, so that I might steep a little longer. Chose the Greek Salad, which was made up in the typical fashion, although this one had a bit of avocado (nice addition). The bakery case some unique items that you might not find in other places. I got a piece of Chai Masala Coffee Cake. It was moist, flavorful, and was a generous portion. It also had a nice brown sugar crunchy top. It was a good experience, but leaning more towards a Cafe and Merch shop, and less than a traditional coffee shop.

Out where customers sit it is extremely loud. 2 stars is for the ambience ( loud music makes it unbearable) 5 stars for the great coffee and food.
