Since then I've grown, I've taken responsibility for my uninspired ordering and can now confidently say--they have some of the best coffee shop breakfast bites around. What should you order? Their strawberry avocado toast. Strawberries on avocado? I'm unsure, you may be muttering. Please do yourself a favor, stop muttering, and just order the dang toast. It's goat cheese sprinkled, balsamic reduction drizzled, and quite simply some of the best avocado toast I've had the pleasure of consuming. What else? The baked oatmeal with berries. Warm, comforting, and adorned with fresh berries--it's the stuff winter dreams are made of. I love during the holidays they have some fun holiday lattes (s/o to the jingle bells latte) and I've also recently ordered and enjoyed their tangerine mocha (citrus-y delight!). They also made me a Chai Latte, in a mug. A was a great combination. The coffee cake was a little dry/crumbly (which I like), so it paired well with the hot chai. The place was busy. And from the sound of it, there were lots of regulars. That's always a good sign. Some people ordered breakfast and egg dishes. They all looked goo. I was in need of something small to sustain me briefly, so I ordered a London Fog and the special scone (rhymes with "gone"), that day a delectable-looking chocolate chip with chocolate drizzle. The Fog was most interesting in that it was topped with nutmeg, which I adore. To be honest, for some reason the combination of the regular London fog and nutmeg reminded me of some medicine or unloved candy from my childhood, but it wasn't so offputting that I didn't finish every last drop. The scone was hands-down the best I've had outside of Scotland. That sounds like hyperbole, but it's not; it's honest. The texture was impeccable for my personal taste as I prefer a moister, cakier scone. This one was that, a perfect scone with a perfect number of chocolate chips and a perfect chocolate drizzle. This pastry alone (and whatever other flavors the bakers produce) will get me going back again and again. The establishment was very clean, I found some of the chairs to be uncomfortable, I thought the mix of lighting fixtures was interesting, and I enjoyed the sunshine pouring in through the garage doors. It was surprisingly quiet because everyone there was on a laptop. It does make me worry a bit about coming in with children or with a friend to have conversation, but we can all get along. :)

It wasn't really a latte at all, just steeped tea with lukewarm milk. There was nothing creamy about it. It may have been because there was only one person working, acting as cashier, barista, and handling takeout orders. They seemed a bit stressed. The cashier/barista apologized several times as they were preparing other people's orders. Once it was our turn, we got a warm greeting and plenty of help with our menu questions. Then we waited... and waited... and waited some more. It took quite a while to get the drinks and the croissant sandwich. Then it took another long while to get the grilled cheese. At one point I asked if they were still working on it (it had been so long that I thought they might have forgotten). They apologized again and explained that the griddle they were using (a panini press) just takes forever. We weren't in a hurry, but I noticed some other customers who were visibly upset. The Chai Latte was excellent, as was the Harvest Chai (an ice cream drink). The Chicken Salad Croissant was also very good -- fresh, with a good amount of chicken and not too much mayonnaise. Nice, crispy textures. The Grilled Cheese was good, but the bread wasn't very "grilled" (maybe a limitation of the panini press?). We didn't get dessert, but they offered a few small samples of the Chocolate Shoppe ice cream -- very tasty. Lots to like about this place, but the wait times were way too long. :(
