Absolutely loved this local spot. I'm trying to take full advantage of the season so I tried the hot pumpkin matcha. It was a perfect blend of pumpkin and matcha, with a lovely level of sweetness. I also had the turkey croissant sandwich and added egg and avocado. The croissant was toasted and flaky and everything tasted great. I got a banana nut muffin for later and my goodness! That muffin was so good, so moist, probably one of the best I've had. I had to come back later in the week for another one. It gave me the opportunity to try the pumpkin coffee cake, and once again, fire. The staff were so friendly, I was able to ask questions and recommendations. Skipped Starbucks to support this local latino owned business. Ordered the Abuelita Cold Brew and was blown away. Cold brew is mixed with abuelita chocolate powder and lightly topped with cinnamon. Pretty sure this is my new go to drink. I came back today & was a bit disappointed. Trying the Pistachio Latte with regular milk. I could tell I wasn't going to like it just from looking at it. The balance of milk and matcha was completely off. Felt like I ordered a cup of milk with a hint of matcha. The pistachio flavoring was there though. Just wish the milk wasn't so overpowering. Tried their Jalapeño bagel with cream cheese. 10/10. Simple and delicious Baristas were friendly and sweet. Randomly chose this place from a list Google Maps provided along my morning commute. Cozy space. The guy that took my order was super nice. I was pleasantly surprised to see the small nook for reading and ample places to eat and work. The window stations all had outlets and there was even a printer! I ordered the lox bagel with egg and a hot pistachio latte. The latte was unexpected. I read pistachio/raspberry, but didn't expect to taste pieces of pistachio and raspberries. I liked it! Keep this in mind for those of you that don't like texture. Carefully read the description or ask ahead of time. Look at my bagel sandwich. It was so thoughtfully made. It made me excited to eat it and it was pretty tasty too. I prefer my bagels a little more toasted, but that's no fault of theirs. I will definitely come back anytime. I get a chance to taste some of their other drinks and try their oatmeal. What would have made this visit perfect is if they had some background music playing. This little mom and pop shop is so chill and feels so authentic to the community it services. From the Spanish inspired drinks with horchata or being named abuelita's hot mocha to all the local business merch and the art work in the establishment, it feels less like a business and more like a place to gather, work or just chill for a nice Sunday morning which I did. My gf loves their white chocolate raspberry mocha with cold foam so she is ecstatic they brought it back and I tried the pistachio matcha. Both were iced and pretty good in flavor and the pistachio matcha had little pieces of toasted pistachio which was a nice little add for texture and taste. I have been here before and got their wraps which are pretty good and light. I feel like they are relatively fast at serving too. This spot is truly a diamond in the rough. Can be easily missed but worth the search! They have a great variety of drinks and food at a great price. Crazy to think that the small mom and pop shop could be better priced and tasting than your big chain Starbucks and Coffee Bean. An awesome cafe about a mile east of Exposition Park. CAFE CALLE is located on the bottom level of a residential building (apartment complex). Aside from the street parking, there is a small parking lot available for customers of the retail stores on the ground level. There is indoor seating with tables ( a couple of people were here for meetings). No outdoor seating. Their CORTADO is done well. Their AVOCADO TOAST is full of flavor. Very Good!!! I came here during my lunch break, first of all when you enter it feels very homey. The place has a culture inside, from snacks to homemade artisanal items such candles, floral bookmarks and more. I love the cultural incorporation. Now to the menu, I ordered their chicken pita wrap which 5/5, I wish it was bigger, that's how good it was. Adding a Hispanic twist by adding queso fresco which was a first to me. I've had other chicken pita wraps: the traditional way, tortilla wrap, and sandwich way. I ordered the Spanish Latte, which I loved for its perfect balance--not too sweet, just right. The food menu looked great (I had my eye on the pita wrap, next visit it's mine) the barista was very helpful, music selection was perfect. I stopped by around 2pm on a Friday, a few people working, cute Abuelas knitting. I ordered the Abuelita cold brew 5/5 a perfect amount of sweetness, strong cold brew, I loved this drink! I also ordered the churro croissant warmed up it was honestly heaven! Another 5/5. I was happy to hear that the croissant was from Homeboy Industries, local supporting local will always have my business! I had to purchase the salsa in the small fridge it looked too good to pass up, tasted excellent on eggs the next morning. But it's a cute little coffee shop for the community, by the community, and it really feels like that. While the beans weren't exactly to my liking (I can pick up on roast profiles pretty well), I think that's just personal preference. It's not the largest space, but reasonable for study sessions and small meals. Drinks are served in a glass unless you ask for a to-go. We opted for Iced Lattes with Oat Milk, one with Lavender and the other with Vanilla. Quite refreshing and delicious! As for food, we got the Avocado Toast with an Egg added. No seasoning on the egg, and the toast wasn't too toasty. We waited quite a bit for the toast, so that was a bit disappointing.
