After a few visits to Cafe con Leche for brunch and lunch, we finally made it to D'Noche to experience their dinner offering. The atmosphere on the back patio can not be beat. Beautifully lit, away from the busy street of Milwaukee Ave, and next to the back patio of Parts & Labor (to add some liveliness). Plus they have free parking to boot. That said, the dinner items were not as amazing (or as good of a value) as the daytime options. They do still offer a number of items from the Cafe con Leche menu at dinner time (sandwiches, tacos, etc.) but we tried their dinner entrees. My husband tried the carne con chimichurri but was not super impressed. The cut of skirt steak was not the best and the flavor was mediocre. In fact, he wasn't able to eat parts of it because it was too chewy, which is hard to do with skirt steak. The yuca fries were pretty delicious though and plentiful. I went with the tilapia tacos which were pretty tasty and came with a thousand island dressing type of sauce that was odd but paired well. The tacos were good (and huge - I wasn't able to finish all 3) but they were not unique. Both items were a bit overpriced for the average quality of the dishes. But the atmosphere is great. Service was excellent and they happily accommodated our newborn and his stroller without complaint. We will definitely be back...but during the day when it's Cafe Con Leche. read more

I ordered for takeout today via chownow 5 hours beforehand to make sure my order was ready for dinner the same day. I went to the restaurant for pickup during my confirmed time and they coudnt even find my order number at first. Once they found it, the host had to yet put in my order and still make the food. They mentioned it would only take a few minutes. I sit down and 10 minutes later the food still wasn't ready. I talked to the server and she said "sorry we're just slammed" and I had to come back 15 minutes later, with a total of 30 minutes waiting time. When I got my tacos - the meat was dry, portions small, and unflavored. Would not recommend them for their customer service and mediocre food. read more

Our hostess was i formed that ALL of our party was here. She still opted to seat other people. Not only was she rude,she showed NO care. Great way to keep clientele. I was really impressed with the meal. It's a great ambiance as well. I ordered the ropa veija and split a margarita pitcher with some friends. Ended up here by accident! Was planning on going to Longman and Eagle, but due to a 2 hour wait and freezing temps outside, we decided to find somewhere else in Logan Square. This was for my birthday dinner so we wanted to splurge a little bit. The menu and reviews looked good, and I saw the 10% off with check-in, so that was a nice perk. I liked that the place was on the smaller side, allowed for a more intimate setting with the boyfriend. Decor was simple which I think worked because so many Mexican type restaurants go totally off the wall with the colors. The pork belly skewers with plantains were just melt in your mouth delicious. I had the strip steak which was cooked perfectly and while the texture on the bean pudding was a little weird, I loved it! Boyfriend had the steak with onions that was equally as yummy. Me encanta DNoche! I came here with a couple of friends in the late evening, as the name suggests, and had a great experience. I had the mango mojito and loved every sip of it! It's quite yummy and better than other mojitos I've had. Their empanadas are aaaamazing! They have a garlicky sauce to put on top and some salsa verse and salsa roja on the side. The red sauce is veeeery spicy, so watch out! I've come here before and have had the sangrias (Tuesday's special), and love those too!! Drinks are affordable but the food is a bit pricey. I stumbled upon this place from searching brunch places on Yelp actually. I went with the recommendation of the chilaquiles (verde) and they were SO good! One of my favorite breakfast foods but I definitely am a hard sell on them because sometimes you get them and their too soggy or the sauce isn't flavorful. I definitely enjoyed the latin vibe inside (nice music) and decor is really nice too. The server was very attentive and helpful too. I ordered an iced mocha coffee drink and that too was tasty. What a pleasant surprise of a restaurant! I'm not currently dating anyone, but if I were, this would be a cute place to go out for a chill dinner in the neighborhood! The prices are reasonable and they have $5 margarita night on one of the weekday nights (can't remember which one! ). The food was very good. I was a bit nervous when my server was mentioning a Mexican and Cuban fusion for a menu. Those cuisines, although geographically close to each other, are worlds apart in difference concerning cuisine. But my meal was delicious! So, I suppose it works somehow. Atmosphere is nice snd cozy with a friendly and attentive waitstaff. My wife and I enjoy coming here because it offers a relaxing atmosphere along with good food. Besides their cafe con leche being very filling and tasty with a layer of foam on top, my favorite part of the menu is the latin sandwich selection. Wether its a Cuban sandwich or a jibarito (two flatten large plantains instead of bread) the sandwiches are unique from one another but equally delicious. For example I had Ropa Vieja which is a large sandwich with braised pork, sourcream and cheese. I added an avado to my Ropa Vieja and ordered a grilled jalapeño on the side along with fries. As an appetizer we had tostones (fried platains) with s side of garlic butter. They were huge and it could be used as a make shift tostada if you decided to add whatever food on top of it. My wife had chilaquiles with salsa verde. She was surprised how large this meal was and wasnt able to finish it, but it included 3 eggs, rice and refried beans. Served with your choice of tortillas or bread, plus sides of rice, chopped onion, cilantro, and lime. The soup itself was flavorful and had plenty of chicken and vegetables. Our second stop was for brunch. I opted for the vegetarian two-egg sandwich served on French bread. The eggs were scrambled with tomatoes, onion, and bell peppers, and the sandwich was topped with avocado and (optional) lettuce and tomato. I subbed fresh fruit for potatoes with no problems.
