Came here for the rating and it wasn't what I expected so unfortunately I also have to leave an honest review Churrasco was meaty no flavor it was chewy and dry. The natural juices were concentrate and didn't taste like the real thing. they also charge you one dollar extra if you don't get Ice for your juice. The Mofongo was not flavorful it was dry hard no garlic taste. The appetizer platter was a bit pricey for what you're getting. The beef empanada was flavorful, skip the fried cheese. The Congri rice was more flavorful than the churrasco but again it was dry. The Birria tacos had more cheese than meat and again didn't taste authentic. Sauce for birria tacos was meaty. I also got there coffee tres leche cake because they have a variety of tres leche cake to choose from and it didn't taste like tres leche at all. I spent $100 and I'm not happy or full or the food didn't hit the spot. You order at the counter then get a seat and wait for food after you pay they give you option for tip which you assume they bring food and remove plates but instead you clean your own table at the end so not sure why I'm tipping. Took our order, we both ordered the Cubano, and we had a seat inside waiting for our order. Took about 10-15 minutes and both the sandwich and fries were fresh and delicious. We ordered the fried pork chunks (masitas) and tacos - al pastor and carnitas. The masitas was over fried - very crispy on the outside. Flavor was ok. Tacos had a lot of cilantro and onions. There is an extensive menu with all sorts of Mexican and Caribbean specialties. I came here on vacation for my daily cortado which was the best I had. I also tried their breakfast burrito which was massive and easily shareable. In past trips I've tried the empanadas which are truly unique and the mangonada. We did have a little difficulty placing our order because English was not the preferred language here. You get eggs, cheese, home fries, and chorizo sausage in your burrito. Along with sour cream, green, and red sauce on the side (red is best). It's VERY filling. I was only able to eat 1/2. The store is in a corner of a strip mall and it's a great place! The people are extremely friendly and they make you feel like family! You go to the counter and place your order and pay for your meal. Then they bring you your meal to your table. They serve breakfast all day (after noon they add $2 because the grill is being used for lunch orders and they will cook the breakfast order separately) but their prices are so reasonable that even adding that is fine! :) We were there for lunch and arrived at 11. I ordered the Churrasco which comes with yellow rice, black beans and I asked them to change the amarillos to Tostones (ripe fried plantains). They accommodated me immediately. DH ordered an order of beef empanadas and the Picadillo which comes with white rice, black beans and he also asked for Tostones. To drink, they have juices behind the counter like lemonade, pineapple, passion fruit, mango and strawberry/watermelon. We wanted Coca Cola. They have it in cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles (from Mexico-with real sugar). We sat down inside and enjoyed the music (Spanish) and the a/c while we waited for the food. The atmosphere is very nice! Since this was my first time here, l'm trying to give as many details as possible. The smell of the food cooking was amazing! We received our food and it was so delicious! The empanadas were filled with a mixture of ground beef, a red sauce, potato and spices (NOT spicy because they aren't supposed to be spicy) that were really good! My Churrasco was tender and perfectly cooked, the rice, beans and the Tostones were awesome too! DH mixed his Picadillo (ground beef, red sauce and spices) with his rice and was in heaven. He called it "comfort food". He also loved the black beans and bread that was served with it. The portions are big and we took food home because we couldn't finish it. I couldn't say anything negative about this place! We ordered flan to take home too. The desserts are home made!!!! We are definitely returning to try other dishes that looked extremely appealing. We saw sandwiches served to other tables and my husband's jaw dropped because they looked so good! This restaurant is right in our wheelhouse. Cafe Con Leche is located in a strip mall that has definitely seen better days. The parking is a bit tight, but when I was there it was past the lunch rush, so we basically had the parking lot to ourselves. The interior is also basically no-frills and we were just getting some takeout. We had ordered a few Cuban sandwiches and there was a bit of confusion on the papa rellenas when I tried to order a few over the phone. They were four dollars an order and I believe that they come two to an order. I told the gentleman on the phone I needed a total of four papa rellenas and he was trying to charge me sixteen dollars. I ended opted not getting the papa rellenas. In case you are unfamiliar with papa rellenas, they are mashed potatoes with meat in the center and deep fried. I am not sure if I heard correctly, but I believe that I heard the gentleman say that they were charging someone a dollar more to use their credit card. Just be advised of this. Our Cuban sandwiches were just under ten dollars a piece (I believe it was $9.80 or $9.90), this was what we paid out the door. Now that I think about it, on the menu, it did have two prices, $8.00 and $9.00. So this company could be charging what for me was ten percent more to run a credit card. Still, if you are in the Daytona Beach, Florida area, this is one of the few places where you can grab a Cuban sandwich. They also have burritos and other Mexican type foods, but I did not try them. read more

I love this little place! Most of their food is delicious. I usually get the usual which is a Cuban and Cafe cone Leche with some fried cheese and its delicious. But today I did breakfast for the first time ever and it wasn't horrible experience at all. When you walk in its like being in a little mom and pops Havana shop.
