We stuck strictly to tacos, and honestly, it was hit or miss depending on your taste. I ordered the pastor and chorizo. The pastor had decent flavor but could have been juicier. The chorizo was a letdown for me -- it had a pasty consistency, almost like refried beans, and was heavy on potatoes, which wasn't what I was hoping for. I also tried a hard shell pastor supreme, expecting an authentic house-fried tortilla, but it reminded me more of what you'd get at Taco Bell. My husband went with carne asada, chicharrón, and chicken. The carne asada was juicy but the flavor just didn't hit the way I expected. The chicken was good but came shredded. The chicharrón had solid flavor -- I just personally struggle with the texture, though that one's on me since I knew going in! One thing all the tacos had in common: the meat portions felt too small for the size of the tortillas. Personally, I wouldn't classify this as truly authentic Mexican, but that's just my palate. I ended up getting extra to have over the weekend. The service is quick and everything is made fresh. I forgot to mention the churro I had. It was hot and perfect, it did not make it home! There was a steady flow of customers at the window both times and the server was patient and friendly with everyone. The service is excellent and the employees are very friendly. My one complaint still stands. They make you now buy bottles of water instead of just giving you a glass of tap water. I think that's very unfair because people who eat here sometimes have to save a little bit of money. So sometimes they don't buy drinks because drinks could add 30% or more to your bill. This is the only place I know where they won't give you a glass of tap water because they want to make money off of everything. That aside I love the food here and will obviously continue to eat here but I won't buy drinks here for that specific reason. To me it takes away from the Integrity of a restaurant that will not offer tap water but make you buy bottled water. If I buy a bottle of their tap water for a buck 50 I can go next door to perrine's and buy a whole case for four bucks.

When called out on it, they do their best to gaslight you and act as though your expectation for chips with those dips is completely unexpected and deviant. Either avoid ordering from them altogether or at least have some chips on hand if you want to be able to properly enjoy your guac.
