All the flavors went well together; mashed potatoes were well seasoned the sausage had a good flavor, and the salad with the vinaigrette added a crunch in an extra flavor as well. I drank a French hard cider while I gobbled up my meal, which also was new for me and tasted great after I was done my meal. Luke brought me a shot with rum and some other ingredients, including lemon that definitely hit the spot after a good meal.I recommend Brasserie Belanger for anyone near GDN Train Station that enjoys great food and patio dining. The restaurant itself is lively and fun with lots of chatting, laughing and good times being shared. Desserts were Crème Brûlée and Apple Crumble, neither of which were disappointing. We ordered the croque monsieur and croque madame. The difference between the two is that the croque madame comes with a fried sunny side up egg. This was heavy but so yummy! The egg yolk makes a great sauce to soak up this cheesy and hammy toast. This came with a salad on the side which had a vinegar based dressing coated on it. The only thing is we had miscommunication with the waitress about drinks. We asked for water (l'eau) but they gave us distilled water in a bottle which costed us 8 euros. I learned it's important to learn to specifically ask for carafe d'eau (tap water in French) to get free water! Felt a bit bad that we were overcharged. Just gotta be careful with communicating next time. All in all, I enjoyed trying the amazing sandwich that is a croque madame. Wanted to give 4 stars for the food but the bottled water still irks me.
