You get seated anywhere you want. They served you chips and salsa when first sit down and asked what you like to drink. I got agua de Jamaica, it's iced tea made of dried hibiscus flowers. It's sweet and tangy. I asked for side or guacamole. I ordered 2 chile rellleno with all rice. I don't like beans. It came out within 10 mins ordering it. The plate came out hot. The waitress warn me before she put it down. I couldn't eat it at first. It was too hot and fresh. The rellanos was covered in some type of brown sauce. It was savory and good. I love chile rellanos. Not a lot make it good. But this one was good. I put the guacamole on my rice and went at it. I never got refill of my drink and they never offered me water. She asked if I was doing ok once and gave me the check before I was done. What if I wanted dessert? Hmm The service was nice and friendly. I wanted a refill. I used to frequent this restaurant often when I worked in Roseville. When I happen to go back, it's still one of my favorite places to eat. I am hooked on their chicken chimichangas and the red sauce/salsa that has a decent amount of heat and great flavor. The beans and rice are good, the chimi is a decent size, and they give a very generous amount of chips with a take out order. There's plenty chimichanga itself is a little bland, but adding a healthy splash of salsa over it really ties the room together if you get the reference. There's plenty of other places in the area to get a meal from, but Cafe D is always my go-to, and tonight's meal was on point as always. I haven't had a chance to go there for a few years, but the first bite brought me back to the 2000's when I ate there quite a lot. Give it a try. read more

I met up with a friend for lunch I haven't seen in so long. It was nice to catch up. As you pull into the compact parking lot, you walk into this cozy restaurant and wait to be seated. There are booths along the wall and tables available in the center. Their menu is one page, both sides. Distracted by catching up, I failed to get more pictures. Shame on me!! Care Delicias offers complimentary chips and salsa as you wait for your food to arrive. While looking at the menu and then on our trusty Yelp app, I looked at the pictures depending on Yelp to show me what was good. I didn't like the way their crispy shells looked for tacos. It looked like packaged hard shells from the store. I ordered the chimichanga, it comes topped with melted cheese, sour cream & guacamole and served with rice & beans. My friend ordered a 2 chicken taco plate that also came with rice & beans. Our waitress, Monica was really good to us and very patient since we took forever to order. She brought out our food with oven mitts warning us the plates were hot... and actually, they were scorching. So we know there a stack of plates under the heat lamp! Our plates looked good, after the modeling shoot, we dug in. I can only speak for my chimichanga. It was pretty delicious. My choice of meat was shredded beef. When my friend got her taco plate, I still felt like they looked like store bought hard shell tacos and I am just super picky and it's not for me. I did order a super plain shredded beef chimichanga to go for my dad. Only meat, cheese, and light refried beans on the inside and Noone of the toppings. That took a while.. about 20 minutes, because after making sure they weren't going to put the toppings on, I think they may have already made it and needed to start over. He said he really enjoyed the favor and crispness. Their food was definitely good. Love this place. I come here often, the food is great and they have the best pico de gallo I have ever had. The service is average. I usually come when it's slower, only a few tables filled. Yet, I never see my waiter after my initial order and am never offered refills. It's like they disappear. And I know they're not slammed busy because there's only a couple tables filled. They also always bring the check before we're even done eating, every time, without fail. Not sure what the rush is for the check to be dropped off. What if I wanted to order something additional? Not usually how my dining experience goes elsewhere. I also was in the restaurant industry for years myself. Not how I would provide service to customers, but could be worse. Went into the restaurant and was immediately told not to order online next time. I'm curious why they haven't removed that feature if there are known issues with it. They tell me they can't help me or find a good contact number for their third party payment system that I have to call to get my refund. I left my name and phone number for a manager to call me back and was told "hopefully she calls you" and that it was better I called back. My first and last time coming. I have been coming here with my family for 25 years now and it is my favorite Mexican food place. Their salsas are SO good... like so, so good. All of the food is delicious and authentic. The serving sizes are huge and the pricing is really reasonable for how much food you get. The waitresses have all been there for years at this point and they take good care of me every time I come in. I've been on a carne asada kick when I go and their carne asada a la tampiquena plate is delicious. I highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

The last time I had been here was about 20 years ago and did not have a reason to return but my friend suggested it and thought why not. The chips and salsa were Very good. I liked the chunky but it wasn't too chunky for those who dont like hunks of tomato. Then I opted for the soup instead of the cheap salad. The chicken rice soup was quite good. One of the best soups I have ever had actually. It had flavor. Full of fresh ingredients and liked that the vegetables were not overcooked with a little spice. I had hopeful beginnings. Then my meal came. Immediately upon appearance, it was drowned in sauce. Always makes me wary because food should stand on its own without a ton of sauce. My pork tamale was very dense with a much higher corn meal to meat ratio that it is often dry even with all that sauce. I love tamales and could not eat it all. The enchilada was just okay. No wow factor. Rice and beans were good, but not great. Service was a solid good. Not overly but not bad either. My overall experience was just okay. Had not been for the soup, I might've given a 2. Like someone else said, there is just too many other great mexican food places in area to make this a destination. read more

I used to like coming here but I think there are better places than here. We stopped in for lunch. I ordered the ground beef crispy taco lunch special. Hubs ordered the ground beef El Grande, it's a taco salad, and there's nothing Grande but the price, $9.99. Even though there were maybe only three other tables filled, we waited, FOREVER! Not sure what the dealio, but we couldn't figure out what took so long? Anyway, the chips that they brought out was kinda stale. Tasted old. There was so much grease from the meat in the taco, it looked as if it was scooped up from the bottom of the pan. The rice wasn't good either, it was hard and dried out. Sad because it was rather early for lunch. Will I go back? No, for the price, you can get more value and better food elsewhere. I doubt I'll go back. Hmm...the owner needs to put some effort into cleaning this restaurant. The front door was very dirty as well as the rug by the cash register was heavily stained. These are the first things you see as you enter...I can only imagine what conditions things are in the kitchen if the areas where customers can see are in such bad shape. I've noticed the food consistency and service has fluctuated in the past few years. My better half likes this place, so that is the only reason that I still dine here. He only gets the crispy flour shell shredded beef taco with a cup of chicken vegetable soup. He's been coming here for close to 20 years and orders the same thing. I on the other hand have probably tried everything on their menu. Pros: - The menu has tons of options including a kids menu. - The menu is reasonably priced for a sit down restaurant. - Good basic Mexican food. My fave is the chicken soup, it is chuck full of shredded chicken meat and carrots and celery. Cons: - There could be more lights in the parking lot. - Food consistency needs improvement. At times, the sauces for the chili rellenos and enchiladas is over salted or bland tasting or right on. Same for the chicken soup. There is room for improvement to bring back the glory days of great tasting fresh quality food. The building and furniture can not be resurrected, but the food can be. For me, it's a solid 3 star place for now. If you like Mexican food, try this place out. read more

The decor at Cafe Delicias is "homey," comfortable, and lens itself well to fine dining. As you walk in, you're greeted with a "Please wait to be Seated" sign, and we were seated immediately, and given two of the printed, "old school" menus. Cafe Delicias is a "sit-down" restaurant, not a taqueria, as you are treated to full service as soon as you enter this delightful restaurant. Note that this visit actually happened back in January, 2017, and I'm only just getting around to "Yelping" it. After we were seated, our server brought a basket of complimentary tortilla chips, in-house-made salsa, and a squeeze bottle of what appeared to be ketchup, along with a couple of small, empty bowls. No ketchup in the squeeze bottle, as it was amazing-delicias red salsa, that had a little "kick," but really tasted good. The chips were a tad on the stale side, but I had no complaints, as I just piled on both varieties of salsa for an excellent dining experience. Since late Saturday morning, and menudo is on the weekend menu, but I agonized between menudo - one of my Mexican favorites - and Huevos a Caballo. The egg dish won out, as I've never enjoyed this particular entree, and the "Walter Mitty" in me called for ADVENTURE! Huevos a Caballo is two fried eggs, topped with rancheria sauce, placed on two cheese enchiladas. So, I suppose you could call me "vegetarian..." Rice, beans and three corn tortillas are included with this meal. Is this breakfast or lunch? I don't care, as I'm good for any dish, at any time of the day. Oh my goodness... where do I start? I didn't ask our server how the eggs would be fried, but they came out over easy, which is my favorite way to enjoy fried eggs. The menu didn't say anything about rancheria sauce, so it was an exciting and pleasant surprise. This meal was enjoyable, fantastic and perfect in every way. The photo truly shows how "delicias" this meal really was. If you like breakfast, lunch and Mexican food, and you can't make up your mind, this dish will work for you, as it combines the best of everything. I LOVE food!
