Tried a slice of the broccoli rabe and mushroom pizza and a slice of the grandma. The grandma didn't hold together very well - it was light on cheese and heavier on sauce for a thin crust and also was quite oily. The other slice was more balanced but a tad oily too. First and foremost the staff angel, jimmy and the young boy who worked this pasted Tuesday was beyond helpful and really mad my kids night, after long day we stoped for pizza and had the broccoli rob, 2 reg slices cut up and pasta slice, along with 6 garlic knots that all went! Food was delicious and a slight heat up and kids devoured their pizza. The place is clean it's cozy and very welcoming. The owner should realize the good staff he had that night total total total accommodating they made my kids laugh and their parents should actually know what they do. I placed an order for a couple of pizzas for a work event. The person I spoke to on the phone was quick and efficient. When I arrived to get my order around 2 pm on a weekday, there was barely any parking within the general vicinity of the door. However upon entering the restaurant it was clean and everyone was very friendly. The food was good and a big hit with those who ate it. Went here yesterday for lunch. Had a slice of sicilian and tried the marinara slice as well. The place is nice and set up pretty well. Pizza part is in front and there is a bar on the left and resturaunt in back. Place looked clean and nice. The staff were friendly and helpful and fast. Came here for father's day lunch and even though the restaurant side wasn't open until 4pm, the staff gave us a little bit of waitressing service anyway. We mostly ordered pasta dishes which were very well seasoned and delicious. Mine came with fresh mozzarella which melted into the dish. Some of the other dishes ordered was a salad, personal pizza and eggplant parmesan. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes and we all scarped our plates clean! So I get there had to wait a little longer than expected but that's fine, it was busy. I finally get my pizza and the guy said $27.50. First off, baked dough and cheese shouldn't cost $27.50, the most I've ever spent on a pie on Long Island and I mean a great pie was $20. I thought maybe because I said vodka sauce it was going to be a few dollars more. $27.50?! That's robbery. Anyway I wasn't in the mood to question so I paid the bill and left. Took the pizza home and opened it to find it was pizza with penne pasta with maybe a drizzle of vodka sauce. Super disappointed. I have had vodka sauce slices at many pizza joints on Long Island and this was just way too much. I gave this two stars for the mere fact that it's still pizza and pizza tastes good regardless but it deserves a 1 star at most. My expectations were high but this place failed. Overpriced for the wrong order. Thumbs down Update - wanted a slice after a long day at work so I stopped off quick and grabbed a spinach slice which was right out of the oven. It was excellent. One of the better pizza joints in this area of LI. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall/office building (Jericho Atrium) is Dolce Vita. The outside advertises them as brick oven pizza and that right there had me sold on the place. Basic seating up front if you're just getting a slice. Nice seated area in the back if you're there for more a sit-down meal. The staff is friendly and will explain what the different pies are since there are no signs. Plenty of specialty pizzas to choose from. I went with the BBQ chicken slice. While super messy, it was delicious and the BBQ sauce was really good. We also split a tortellini slice. This was my favorite of the two. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the cheese already on the pizza along with the cheese inside the pasta was heavenly. The crust is also really good and really thin (thanks, brick oven!). Overall, a solid pizza place. Next time I'll have to try their pasta dishes in the back. Also the music they play is pretty awesome. It ranged from Stevie Nicks to Guns N' Roses. Much appreciated. read more
