Some of the best pizza I've had in a while. The restaurant is spacious, with lots of indoor seating. There was so much to choose from. I ordered their fried zucchini, white slice, bbq chicken slice, and bacon ranch slice. They all were fresh and tasty. I enjoyed not to much oil dripping from the slices. The fried zucchini was crispy, fresh , and the marinara sauce gave it that extra wow factor. The customer service was awesome. They are very personable and friendly. It's a family owned business. I traveled all the way from Brooklyn to try them out, and I can't wait to return. If ever you're in the area please give them a try. read more

When you walk in it's very warming and welcoming. With a big display counter and a smiling person behind. They have a huge selection of speciality slices and pinwheels. Staying is not an issue, as they have tables, chairs, and booths. I got 2 regular slices. I give them 8/10. Good crunch Good chew Right amount of sauce and cheese. My kids and grandchildren are in love with their Chicken Parmigiana Hero's. Their Sicilian and Pizza (any type you get) from plain to vegetable to grandma etc.. is really out of this world! Have passed this pizzeria many times and never went in cause I just thought the parking was too difficult . Someone told me today that this was their favorite pizza in Plainview ( it at the border of Plainview and Hicksville on Woodbury road and south oyster bay road). I asked why and he said , it's the cheesiest! Anyway, I decided to try it and was very pleased. I had a cauliflower pizza which was excellent and I could present it was healthier. The regular slice was also good and really cheesy as promised. Inside the dining room is nicer than you can tell from the outside. The staff are efficient and accommodating. You can park on the street , but they DO have a parking lot in back, around the corner. Gotta say, although I haven't been here for 28 years, I plan to return. read more

By the way, it is also refreshing that people understand that I mean pizza when I say that I want a pie. They offer a pizza that is a tantalizing blend of dough, sauce, cheese and spices. While many embrace toppings on their pizza, I am more of a pizza purist. A cheese pizza to me is the perfect pizza, though I will indulge here and there with a pizza with all of the toppings. Been coming here for 26 years - but my Raimo era sadly has to end now! The new owners (the company traded hands a few years ago) changed the recipe. (If it works, don't fix it!) ALWAYS a delicious pizza when we order here! Grew up in Hicksville, and our family would drive from the Bethpage border to Raimo's for their pies! As I grew up I was introduced to Sicilian pizza and it's close cousin, the Slab pizza (aka Rllio's). Ordering was easy, we are from Maine so we have some different toppings like hamburger aka chopped meat. When I asked she kept saying "This is Eaimo's in Hicksville, you know that right?" Lol! Super nice and patient as we navigated our meat selection. Mushroom and sausage pie, cheese pie, and a Sicilian pie were called in, 20 minutes on a Saturday evening. We were attending a function at another establishment so the timing was perfect for us. We arrived in time. There was no parking along Woodbury Rd so we made the right after the pizzeria where behind the building there was plenty of free parking. We walked in through the back door and were greeted immediately by the friendly woman on the phone. Our order was just about to come out of the oven! As we waited we walked along the counters seeing what other delicacies they offer. Decorated with Italian scenery and items that are used for cooking. Seating was a majority of booths with a few stand free tables. There were Calzones , pasta dishes, and Gelato in various flavors. Got the pies home and thoroughly enjoyed all the pies with my family and friends we entertained where we were staying in E. Northport NY. Yes a drive, absolutely worthwhile. I've been to Raimo's a couple of times, but never to this location. I was in the area and did a quick Yelp search and this was one of the top choices within the vicinity of where I was. I placed an order for a large pie and some garlic knots. The lady on the phone was pleasant enough and the transaction was a quick one. Once I got to the restaurant, I wasn't greeted right away, but everyone did just look at me come in. Felt a bit a strange, but I shook it off. I got to the counter and the lady sounded as if she was the same one that answered the phone, but I didn't ask, so I'm not entirely sure. But in any event, I didn't get the same vibe off the phone in person. She asked me what I wanted, I told her I here to pick up my order. She asked for the number that I was told to give over the phone and I gave that to her as well. I saw that they had Buffalo pizza and I ordered a slice. It's kinda my weak spot. The guy who gave me my order was nice and so was the other guy. I mean, to me, customer service is key. Now on to the food. The garlic knots were good, but really soft. I was looking for the soft chewy middle. The pizza was ok, but not like the other Raimo's pizzeria that I'm familiar with. All in all, it did it's job and provided us with something to eat, but left more to be desired. The slice of Buffalo also didn't do it for me. It was lacking some flavor. I've passed by Raimo's a bunch of times and finally decided to try them out! The pizza is great! I like the soft chewy dough and the toppings were not greasy/oily like other pizzerias. The mozzarella sticks were not fresh and seemed to have just been sitting out. Other than that, my order was ready for pickup in 15 minutes and check out was seamless. Hmm. I'm not sure what happened. I used to frequent Raimos. Pizza was always on point. Now, I'm not sure. Two times in a row my boyfriend and I ordered a pie well done with half sausage. When we brought it home it wasn't well done at all. Not even sure if it was "done" at all. The pizza was extremely doughy and the cheese would just slide off. It definitely needed at least 3 more minutes in the oven to be at least "done" in my opinion. The flavor was just okay. Due to the cheese and sausage sliding off because of the undercooking, I had to eat the pizza with a fork and knife. We also ordered garlic knots. When we got home they were cold. Not even room temperature. But ice cold. Maybe that's because when I went to pick up the pie they just took a bag of garlic knots from on top of the oven. Maybe they have them pre packaged? That's what it seems like. Also, it was JUST DOUGH! There was no garlic, no olive oil, nothing on the knots. (See picture!) it was just knotted dough. Not worth $3.50 at all. For a pie with half sausage, 6 balls of dough (can't call it garlic knots if there wasn't any garlic) and a 2 liter bottle of soda it cost $27.81! That is a little over priced. What a disappointment from the previous owners who took care to have great pizza foods and help. The new ownership, and food is not the same. I had a bad experience last year when I took a friend to grab a late dinner. THought they were open til 10 weekdays and 11 w/ends. Well we got the food and within 2 minutes, someone starts washing the floor next to us and the surrounding booth with an ammonia based cleaners-- Ever try to eat italian pasta with the stench of ammonia? We asked could they wash the other side and were told know because they were closing early! WHen I referenced the the hours on the door - they said they changed it and were closing up. So I asked, why didnt you tell us you ere closing when we said we were staying and sat down-- Noanswer-- Left the food- the taste of ammonia was everywhere Several neighbors also noted the quality down. About a dozen different pizza options, chicken rolls, calzones, pasta dishes, and one of my favorites....rice balls!! The Cheese Sicilian is fantastic, but perhaps my favorite was the Chicken Roll! Basically a huge chicken Parmesan that's rolled into a fluffy dough and baked! Served with marinara sauce for dipping, it's like chicken Parmesan pizza! I used to visit Raimo's back when I lived on Long Island rather frequently. I had heard about it years ago through friends and absolutely loved their pizza. Nothing has changed. Since moving upstate, there aren't very many places that I can say have exceptional pizza. Raimo's never disappoints and recent consumption of a take-out pie was no exception. This pie had extra cheese, pepperoni and mushroom. The crust is perfectly thick and there isn't a burnt spot anywhere to be found. The flavor of the sauce is just right and it reminds me of how I would be 9000 pounds if I lived in that vicinity. Great pizza. Look forward to getting back again soon. Hmm coming up with a rating for this place was a little tough because I've frequented Rainbows a bunch of times over the past few years for lunch on the weekends. I've had good slices and not so good slices here. They say familiarity breeds contempt... ? Rainbows is a pretty typical pizza joint, but there are a few things to point out. They have a lot of seating and the place is very clean, so that is a plus. The best thing to get might be their plain slice. Their plain slice is very solid and is much cheesier than a typical plain slice. I prefer that actually. So if I was rating this place just on the cheese slice alone, I'm sure I'd give it a 4. I've also tried a few other slices here, and the experience with those slices brings the rating down a star. Now, don't get me wrong; Rainbows is a solid pizza joint. Can't say it is bad. Their specialty slices have been a bit lacking in taste. I had a chicken and broccoli slice recently, and have also had an eggplant parm slice. Maybe it's because they don't heat up the slices evenly, but the slices have never been crazy good. Always solid, but never banging. Also, the crust on the specialty slices tends to be a bit hard so I'm not sure how fresh they are. It's such a conundrum, because all of their slices look amazing. It's like being beautiful on the outside but average on the inside. Prices here are pretty typical of a Long Island pizza joint. My eggplant and mozzarella slice was $4.35. So that is my conflicted view on Rainbows! I'll definitely be back in the future. read more
