Lia's Pizzeria in Syosset NY. I stopped in, got a slice of Margarita pizza which was good. I asked what the rolls were and if they had a chicken one. Ha. They are called Chicken Rolls. The one I got had tomato sauce and I found it just ok. I was pleasantly surpriced that they have a small freezer to the right entrance with a variety of Tartufos individually packaged, the one I bought was fine too. I haven't tried anything else. Nice sized restaurant with many options as far as pizza go. Popped in for a cheese slice while my wife shopped next door. Staff very friendly but the slice I had was just average. Nothing stood out to brag or complain about just an average slice in the land of above average pizza. read more

After wanting to try this place for quite some time...I was a bit disappointed. Months and months of seeing delicious pizzas on social media...didn't live up to the hype. My mom decided to pick up two slices of the spinach artichoke pizza with garlic knot crust. It looked delicious, but that's where it ended. Both slices where very undercooked, I had to put them in my toaster oven at home to cook it more. It was very underwhelming. It was also a bit soggy, but that could be due to the toppings on top. It absolutely needed more time in the oven to cook. My mom also got me tortilini soup, as it's a favorite of mine. Again, very underwhelming. However, the tortilinis were big. It was more so the broth that tasted off. Didn't really live up to the hype. read more

I was in the area again and although I do like their pasta, I came for reason and one reason alone. The effin' rice balls. I challenge someone to find me a better rice ball. I have friends who will take the drive out here just for this. It's perfectly crispy, the right density, just enough meat and cheese in the middle. Get that side of marinara, cut your pieces, dip them and eat. It's just.. sigh - those little wins in life. Been trying to find my go-to pizzeria in the Syosset area. Finally found it at Lias. Nice chewy crust and nice hearty toppings. My favorite is the chicken parm pie (not on menu but they make it anyway). Order pasta there but nothing special. It's a pizza joint, best stick with just pizza. Note, they charge a fee if you use credit card - like many Long Island businesses do. read more

This is a solid establishment for pizza. Ordered well done slice and it as done perfectly. Crust , sauce and cheese were all delish and the crust was crispy. The ingredients tasted very fresh. Got takeout a few times. We ended up warming some up the next day and it was very good. I really like their speciality slices, especially the bbq and Buffalo chicken. It is not a customer-friendly practice for a merchant to first attract a customer to its store and then to penalize the customer for using a credit card that the merchant accepts. Honestly this place is only getting 2 stars from me because of the HORRIBLE service. The first time i tried this place was with my coworker and we loved it! The pizza crust is fresh, crispy and delicious! My grandma slice was soo good! Garlic knots are tasty and penna ala vodka is awesome! Fresh pasta just made al dente. This place has really great food but it's unfortunate and sad to say that the service just sucks. The first time i ordered here it was 5 separate orders that i wanted to pay for over the phone with 5 different credit cards. The guy says to me " can't do that, you can just pay when you get here" I then tried to explain to him that i only have 30 mins for lunch and don't have time to wait on line to pay. His response was " It takes 2 seconds to swipe a card " *** My feeling is if you want money and you want my business then payment options should always be available for customers The customer is always right. *** So we get there and luckily there's no line. So the payment was quick with the credit card swiping but still I don't need that type of response with an attitude. I also don't work there so how am i suppose to know if there is more than one register to pay at or how will i know if there's going to be a line of people ordering lunch! The 2nd time ordering here today was very disappointing. We didn't argue with the phone guy this time. We just placed our order and went to pick it up. SURPRISE, SURPRISE there's a long line of people ordering food and paying at the ONE register. A total attitude, grabs the cards out of my coworkers hands, and complains that this can't happen again! So now us as the customers are being penalized bc of how we want to pay. It's very upsetting bc this place has good food. Lias lost a potential customer. I've never been to lias before but I had called them to place an order to pick up. I had 8 slices along with 2 appetizers. I called and they started to take my order "I'd like 2 Grandma slices, 2 mushroom slices, ...." There person cut me off and said since I'm ordering actual slices, he couldn't take my order over the phone. I told him u had 6 more items but he still didn't care. He told me to come in and "it will be 2 minutes". What he doesn't realize is that I was on my lunch and I had to go back to work and I highly doubt ordering, heating and paying for 8 slices, a rice ball, and 6 knots were going to take 2 minutes. They have a delicious dish we always order Chicken Ava lia --very light but tasty The chicken Florentine is the best around as well. Great service and they make the pie the way you request....Their fresh garlic is great and the sausage and mushrooms always a winner. I was afraid they were closing, BUT if they were they didn't say...the waiter warmly welcomed us. We ordered calzone and whole wheat pasta. What a crispy perfect (not overfilled) filled delish eat it with your hand food item. Waiter asked if I wanted marina sauce with it ...never had it that way before ...yum! my Mom's whole wheat pasta cooked perfect. we will be back!
