Rating: 4.0 Came for breakfast. Small local bagel breakfast restaurant located in Norwood, MA. Inside it feels like old timey diner vibe. Parking space is available. Wasn't too busy when we got three so we placed an order at the counter. They make their own bagels at the restaurant. I got egg, cheese, and sausage bagel sandwich with asiago bagel and mocha iced coffee. Iced coffee was ok. Wasn't mixed well so make sure to mix it before trying. The bagel sandwich was pretty good. They use spicy Italian sausage which is delicious. Lots of eggs and a slice of cheese with nice and chewy homemade bagel. Only thing is that I wish they added more of the sausage. Maybe I can try to request it next time. Service was relatively good and quick. Good quick break fast spot. Might take a bit to figure out combination of order that I like personally. Would come back again and try out different combination/get extra sausage if i'm in the area. read more

I was actually on the fence about leaving a review, the woman who made our coffee was lovely and kind, but after reading a few comments about customer service here, I felt compelled to add my own experience. We ordered online and walked in to find the place a bit "busy" with a couple of people waiting for their food. No problem there at all. I'm not someone who adds pressure when a team is in the weeds, I'm happy to wait. The issue was that I wasn't sure where to go for an online pickup, so I stood in line briefly, noticed the staff seemed occupied, and sat down at a table to wait for a natural moment to ask. At no point from the moment we walked through the door or stood in front of a cash register, were we greeted or acknowledged, which... busy or not, is pretty standard practice if a new person walks in. When we finally did ask someone about our order, we were essentially scolded in front of the entire restaurant for not speaking up sooner. We weren't frustrated about the wait. We were genuinely just asking how the online order process worked. The customer sitting at a table behind us even turned around to acknowledge how hostile the interaction felt. One great barista and one rough interaction, just sharing so the experience doesn't get repeated. I think next time I'll take the drive to the Dedham location or the well worth wait at Spot (always a good service experience there... despite how busy they always are). read more

I decided to come here on a whim. I usually go to Spot in Norwood but didn't feel like waiting in line for 45 minutes. The place was empty and looked a little deserted. The bagels did not look fresh and seemed like they had been a couple days old (I went around 7:15 am). The lady at the counter was nice and had my sandwich ready within 10 minutes. The sandwich itself was pretty good and the egg tasted fresh. The hash brown wasn't the crispiest. All in all, I will return. I wouldn't recommend enthusiastically as there are better bagel shops nearby. read more

It's pretty easy to do bagels right with good customer service, warm bagels, and good hours. I came in today to get my team at work bagels for the holiday weekend. The woman behind the counter was extremely rude after I bought a dozen bagels. "We don't have time to slice bagels and warm them - we're busy don't you have a toaster at home?" She proceeded to give me four plates for a dozen bagels when I asked for enough for my staff. To answer her question, no I don't have a toaster as this is going to a medical clinic right by you, so thanks for your completely unprofessional and subpar service. The Good: There was a man working in the shop, dripped out. He was steaming the floors, jamming out, communicating with customers and playing family feud with Steve Harvey. (4 stars) I wish I talked to him more, he seemed wise and lives his life the right way. The Bad: My friend got an iced coffee, but it was more like an iced water, I tried it. He drank three sips I had one. The bacon wasn't bad, just a little soggy. I took a picture because it looked funny in the picture. And the UGLY: Greek Omelette LOADED with feta. Not a problem I am a sloot for feta cheese. The issue lies in the customer service. They overcharged me for an omelette, by the time I noticed The food was already made and I didn't have a receipt as proof. What makes a Greek Omelette $9? THE MENU SAID $6.40. Is the cheese processed out back? Is someone milking a goat, churning it and aging the feta just right for me to enjoy? If so, pardon me, I have no issue paying for the labor. Before you jump to defend the cafe, I did not get a bagel with it, that is not where the mystery expense came from. Maybe the extra tax is from me inconveniencing the workers (not the man aforementioned) by coming 20 minutes before close. The workers were not excited about that. This is my second visit to this location. The first time I visited, things were going slowly with the orders so I left after a 15 minute wait. Today I was waited on promptly. The service was great, the place clean and the music was outstanding. $6.00 for 2 bagels was easy on the ears. The only problem was the bagels were on the skinny side and were pretty bad. Tried to call in an order for pickup. Was on hold for 25min before I just drove over. Only 3 other customers inside so I'm not sure why I was on hold for so long. It took almost 10min before I got to order. Staff was pretty rude. Then I waited another 15-20 for my order to be ready. I remained on hold the entire time just to see if they'd ever answer. I got my food and left after being on hold on my phone for 55min with no answer. The only reason I didn't give only 1 star is because the food was decent but defiantly not worth the wait. I have been a long-time customer of Cafe Fresh Bagel for over 10 years. I frequent this restaurant 3-4 times per week and thus am in a strong position to give my long-term perspective on its overall quality and consistency. Cafe Fresh Bagel is truly a restaurant of the highest all-around quality! Their quality and selection of bagels is consistently excellent. Their egg-based sandwiches are very tasty and generous in size! So are their Nova Lox sandwiches! I am also quite happy with their quality and selection of both hot and iced coffees! I am a very strict guy when it comes to all relationships and I take a zero- tolerance approach to rude, unpleasant and/or unprofessional behavior. Anyone who knows me sees my humorous exterior but beneath the surface I am a strict no-nonsense individual. Strict mutual respect at all times is of the utmost importance to me and I accept nothing less! I can openly state that the cafe owners Dorothy and Dina in particular are most pleasant and polite at all times! So is their team member George. Their Bagel chef Mike is a great guy who is very personable and a true all-around gentleman! The staff are nice and welcoming. That's the only good thing I can say about this particular location. The others, in Dedham and Needham are great but this location... Not so much. I gave this Cafe Fresh Bagel 3 tries. Yes 3. First time, there was something hard in the home fries. Like crunchy, tooth chipping hard. It looked like a pebble. Don't actually know what it was, but it wasn't supposed to be in the home fries. Could've been a fluke. I didn't let that be the determining factor in not going back. It was unpleasant, but it could've been worse. Second time, there was a long hair in my egg. Imagine taking a bite of a sandwich packed with egg and bacon only to get a nice hair cooked into the mix. Gross. I understand, sometimes these things happen. They don't need to if you wear proper hair coverings. Even a hat would be sufficient, especially if you're actively making and cooking the food. I was so grossed out I said I'd never go back. Well, third time... My husband decided to bring home some breakfast today. Where did he go? Cafe Fresh Bagel. Guess he didn't get the memo. First experience at Cafe Fresh Bagel this morning. I will never go back. A customer in the store had an issue with how long his order was taking and asked for a refund. The customer wasn't happy and was rude in the manner he was asking for his refund, but a employee of Cafe Fresh Bagel escalated the situation and was completely unprofessional. This was a Sunday Morning with multiple families in the store and the employee came out from behind the counter yelling profanities at the customer requesting the refund and threatening to fight him. When the customer picked up his 2 year old daughter, the employee continued to shout profanities at the man and his daughter. The customer exited the store with his daughter and girlfriend and the employee followed them into the parking lot continuing to yell profanities threatening to fight. I was there with my 4 year old daughter and I could not believe how unprofessional this employee was. We will never be back and I'm sure most of the families at the store during this incident will not be returning as well. read more

They also wildly overcharge half the time and hope you don't catch it so they can sneak a few extra bucks in their pockets. I've been coming here for breakfast once a weekend for a while now and have never been disappointed. The breakfast sandwiches are enormous! A sandwich in the morning will keep me full well into the afternoon. Nothing is flash cooked or microwaved, everything is done fresh on the griddle. The bagels are awesome here! YUM. I'm lucky (yet unlucky at the same time) this delicious bagel place is so close to my house. I'm pretty picky when it comes to bagels... I have high standards. These guys fit the bill! My typical bagel is a multigrain or wheat with chive cream cheese. Delicious every time. My fiancé gets a bagel sandwich (freshly made, no microwaves here!) or rye with a cream cheese spread and he likes them a lot each time as well. The hazelnut iced coffee is a great drink to wash your bagel down with. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! If you go in a peak time slot on the weekend (mid to late AM) you risk your bagel not being available, but when a place makes them fresh daily I think you risk that at most (good) places. The staff are all sweethearts... get the order right every time and make casual small talk. Very reasonable prices and always be on the lookout for coupons in your local throw away papers. This is definitely my bagel place of choice! read more
